Dude do you ride bmx a lot or something? lol you look just like how i looked when i moved from bmx to motocross. the landings your still in no suspension mode haha. and the takeoff you pop like how you would on a bicycle
@bmx418 I used to do regular just freestyle bmx until i could afford a dirtbike and i had the exact same style as you lol. and i wanted to go faster and jump higher too. In my first race i was in the back of the pack (13th out of 20) and i was hitting all the big jumps that most other kids in my class wouldnt hit haha
Four strokes feel too tame and aren't that exciting to me, the only upside to that is it makes them easier to control which helps in racing. Sure a two stroke might not help you win races but you'll have way more fun out there even if you come last.
hey im thinking about getting a crf250r but rethinking about it because you always have to check the values. is the crf250r very reliable or do you always have to do something to the bike? i currently ride a rm125 2003 and want more power but i dont want to spend $ all the time ! need advice please !
@grandycandypk 250 four strokes and 125s have about the same power you just gotta know how to ride a 2 stroke and i wouldnt recommend anyone buy a crf250r because the valves are shit and go out all the time honda makes a horrible 250
@bmxrider130 2004 crf250 first year they made the four stroke 250 and havent had a single problem with it. when we heard about the valve problem I still put a huge amount of ride/race time on my bike with the origional valves on it without any problems. Then we put stainless steel valves in it and still havent had any problems with it. loves eating up them blue bikes still.
@bhard22151 SS valves are the way to go man, my 04 rm-z 250 has them, 30 hours later still no shimming required. I almost bought a honda 250 from 04 and i heard of the valves and that scared me away, i'm glad that it was just a bunch of people crying about shitty maintenance, honda's 09 250x is a goddamn woods slayer, would love to ride one of their 250r's on the track where it respectively belongs.
i dont mean to put you in your place of riding because your probably better than me cause it looks like you got potential but move your body around and you will get better resultes on your turns and lap times
i dont agree about 4 strokes being better. i race B class and rode a 2010 yz 250f all season last year. Now i just got a 2011 Yz 250 and its legal in 250f classs and it just handles so much better. on my 250f i had to send the suspension to pro action. im not doing anything with the new two stroke. its nasty
@BIGGESTxxEMINEMxxFAN hey im getting a new bike this weekend and im stuck between a CRF250R or a KX250F. which one should i get? im 6' and about 140 pounds
Too be honest i carnt really tell you which is better because i havn't ridden a kx250f , where i live people dont ride kawi's its all yamaha , honda and suzuki .. but i can say the crf250 is a really nice bike and good power on it , im 6'6 and 190 pounds by the way .. but i have seen people around your size and weight on crf250's and seem allright .. i would recommend you go sit on both the bikes and see which is more comftable for you .. good luck :)
@XxGREEN11xX Get the Kx dude. Way more mellow power. I rode a crf in 08 season but switched half way through. liked the Kx better. If you have the money get the 2011 yz 250 2 stroke. I just got one and I cant even explain how awesome it is
ur not even on the throttle on the yz. thats why everybody likes these 4 strokes because they have bottom end and a lot of these riders cant even handle a 2 smoke. (no offense) but if you know how to ride a 2 stroke you can be a lot faster on them.
Im 42 and when i was younger, we only had 2 strokes. I ride a 450 now because i like the low down torque. 2 strokes require a bit more skill to ride them. 2 strokes are more powerful per CC but its a different less manageable power.
im only 5'8 and a 150lbs and i ride a cr125 but ive riddin prolly every bike made except for the ktms...just sayin that height or weight is not a factor to me i can rip a cr250 or a cr500 i cant corner as fast as i can with my 125 but i can rip em
Buying a bike now is based on preference. None it truly BETTER than the other. It depends on the other. Don't listen to others, get what bike you love, practice, and you will own.
@tyamaha272 if i were you i would just try one and see how you like it because i weigh 150 and i can ride a 250 but i couldn't really have fun with it, thats why i like my 150RB cuz it has good power and i can really ride it hard. But thats just my opinion.
I raced a 2007 crf250r for 2 years and i switched to a yz250. its way smoother and less expensive to take care of. to be good on a 2-stroke u have to be a "fast" guy because of havin to keep the rpm's up
ok so i am trying to decide between getting a cr250 and a crf250r. i want to start racing i am 16 and have been riding am rm125 for close to 2 years but only one summer on a track. i have adapted very well to the track though and have fallen in love with the sport and it is all i can think about and is all i want to do. please help if you have any training tips riding tips or any tips on a good bike to start out with on a 250 thank you. good riding btw!!!!
@squantotheboywonder I prefer the crf250r. But I would also like a cr250. You need to ride them both to see what is best for you. Both have ups and downs but will get the job done in racing. Good Luck!
i am 14.5 and i am selling my crf150f and really want a crf250r i am 5 foot 11 inches what you think and i also want to go on the sand with it with a paddle tire
ok dude heres wats up... thts an awesome crf, and i lik the way u ride it, but on a 2 stroke u gotta ride the higher rpms cuz thts where it starts to actually perform
im 14 and i am about 5'6 or 5'7 and i have a 2008 crf150f and i fit it fine but im either just gonna get racing shocks for my current 1 or go out and get like an 2006 crf150r but i keep looking at these videos of the crf250r and theres some bad shit so i dont no what im going to do,so any suggestions because i really want to start racing at this place down the road from my house, ampMX but yeah please message back because all these other assholes wont reply and when they do.............but thanks
@DrumlineLegion I am 14 too and i have a crf150r big wheel and im bout 5'7 and everyone says i look like a goon on it and im average weight too, i also haev a crf250r and i like it way better and have been riding that for a while now and ive jsut started racing too so i like hte 250 way better for my size and height and jumps are better too because it has more suspention also
@bmx418 hey man im not hatin on the crf but they need to get new valves every 50 hours and they re more costly to maintain. still a good bike tho. im just a fan of the 2 strokes. im 5'10" 130 lbs and im gettin a yz125 over a 250f
what u hear is bull , if u take care of the bike u wont have any troubles it the ones who think changing the oil every 10 rides is a good thing, sure u have to get the valves adjusted from time to time but its not like they are going to blow out of the cylinder head!!!!
@bmx418 do you think changing the oil every four hours is rediculous, i got a kx100 a whileback and the guy changed it every four hours- how often do you think i should change the oil
I change mine every other time i ride at the track. I ride about 6 fifteen minute sessions each time, so i'm changing it about every 3 hours. That may be to much but dirty oil will never be a problem for my bike. It will not hurt the bike!!
@bmx418 also im about 5`5 do you think im big enough to handle the bike good, i know i can ride it but i dont know if i can reach the ground on turns.
I would prefer the yz over the crf cause the 2 strokes have double the power ifyou know how to ride them and they are much easier and cheaper to repair. The four strokes are only popular due to propaganda shit, and that the manufactures make more money per bike, 2 strokes are the way to go
u looked way better on the honda bro. try and stay on the gas alittle more, also try and stay in the gears longer,u look like ur shifting alittle to soon. but keep it up dude
From my experience (which isn't a hole lot) hondas are a much easier bike to control but yamahas are generally quicker in a straight. It's kinda hard to compare these two bikes but i personally like the yamaha.
the reason you had same lap times is your hitting the track harder and faster on your crf250 and your slacking a little bit in the turns on the yz250 if you at hit the track as hard on the yz250 you would have been faster
@rwcms08 He's just trying out the YZ in this vid, it's probably too much power to handle as well as he could the CRF. I know when I got on my friends CR250, after riding a crappy kx125 for a long time, it was a whole new experience. Extremely hard to handle because you don't know the bike yet.
i have a 2007 yz250f. Nice bike love it but it seems to be too much maintenence. Like to check valves every 20 hours and oil changes every 10 and all that so i might just get a yz250. What do you think of the yz250? Like was it a big step up from the crf250?
I used to change the oil and trans every 2 rides on the crf250r that was a pain that u have to change 2 sides. The yz250 was easier to maintain and had a lot more power but even so i had the same lap times. The yz wore me out trying to control the power. like the bike always wanted to loop out, the power band was so sudden it would catch me by surprise. The crf had a constant power and was reliable comming out of turns and going over jumps.
@bmx418 ya im going to switch to a 2 stroke for sure but i might get a 125 and 250. With what i will hopefully get for my bike i can hopefully get a 125 and 250. My bike has some decent speed but i dont think that the 2 stroke will be to much to handle. Thanks man.
im 14 5'10 about 180lb should i get a 125 or a 250 what ever i buy im aam stuck with tho? i do have experiance on 2 strokes and i have rode friends 125s and they dont realy seem all that mean
yz250 is awesome and is fast, its all preference tho. i want a 250 2 stroke so bad.. right now at my dad's i ride a 1984 yamaha It 200 2 stroke and at my mom's a 2001 Honda Xr 200r 4 stroke. (2 stroke is faster and more fun)
@warboy1psn thats cause the yamaha is a older motocross bike and the honda is a woods bike its like saying that a rm125 is faster then a ttr125 (have them both) of course the rm will kill the ttr
put your elbows out more. and stand up more. dont be scared to crack the thrttle nad feather your clutch in the burms... if you get sideways and think your gonna wash out give it more throttle.
i am probably a little too small for a 250 in power but i dont wanna buy a 125 and move up again? should i jus go with the 250 and learn to handle it???
I am 5'9 and my weight is 150 lbs and currently ride a yz450f which has more weight than a yz250. At 130 lbs are u strong enough to pick it up off the ground because it will put u there ay some point, the power can be controlled u will get used to it.
@TechPBpaintball i had a little bike before it was an XR80r and i wanted to do the same cause i wanted a 250 and didn't want to get a 125 cause i didn't want to buy an other bike but i got the 125 and its perfect for me and i love it and it has lots of power and its quick and easy to handle anywhere.
@MrLilpete75 250f, if you're a beginner. it has more controlled power, unlike a 2 stroke. personally, i prefer the 2 stroke over 4 stroke, but i strongly suggest a 4 stroke for a beginner. with a 2 stroke, you have to be balls out, they're made to be beaten on and to keep pinned the entire time.
which bike did u like better lol personally i love 2 strokes... i have a 2001 cr 125 now and it rips i love it but ive been riding and racing 2 strokes basically my whole life but the crf did look like the suspension was a little better on the landing but i would go with the yz just because i love it hahaha
I liked the 2 stroke but never rode it enough to get used to it the 4 stroke is my favorite it was much easier to handle. I couldn't get the 2 stroke to slow down!
@hondaman7578 you can adjust the reed valve itself but once its set you do nothing they work off suction on the intake and pressure from the piston coming up to push the exhaust out the other
Don't sit down as much only in turns and dont be scared to pull back on the throttle

@bmx418 i just got a 2010 crf250r and im only 5 foot tall
iRACEmotocross247 1 year ago
@bmx418 hey man im not hatin on the crf but they need to get new valves every 50 hours and they re more costly to maintain. still a good bike tho. im just a fan of the 2 strokes. im 5'10" 130 lbs and im gettin a yz125 over a 250f

i was going to get a crf 250r but i always hear about valve trobles and i dont know if i want to now...
DirtRiderProductions 1 year ago
@DirtRiderProductions
what u hear is bull , if u take care of the bike u wont have any troubles it the ones who think changing the oil every 10 rides is a good thing, sure u have to get the valves adjusted from time to time but its not like they are going to blow out of the cylinder head!!!!
bmx418 1 year ago 5
@bmx418 do you think changing the oil every four hours is rediculous, i got a kx100 a whileback and the guy changed it every four hours- how often do you think i should change the oil
accountseller50z 1 year ago
@accountseller50z
I change mine every other time i ride at the track. I ride about 6 fifteen minute sessions each time, so i'm changing it about every 3 hours. That may be to much but dirty oil will never be a problem for my bike. It will not hurt the bike!!
bmx418 1 year ago
@bmx418 also im about 5`5 do you think im big enough to handle the bike good, i know i can ride it but i dont know if i can reach the ground on turns.
accountseller50z 1 year ago
@accountseller50z i change my kx100 oil every 5 hours. if tht helps

the crf250 sound and handeld the best but 2 strokes are better you should get a ktm the best i have one
xFUSIONxSNIIPZZ 1 year ago
I would prefer the yz over the crf cause the 2 strokes have double the power ifyou know how to ride them and they are much easier and cheaper to repair. The four strokes are only popular due to propaganda shit, and that the manufactures make more money per bike, 2 strokes are the way to go
as1995250 1 year ago
u looked way better on the honda bro. try and stay on the gas alittle more, also try and stay in the gears longer,u look like ur shifting alittle to soon. but keep it up dude
95HondaRacing 1 year ago
When you got on the YZ at first you weren't hittin' the jumps too well, it was bugging me, lol. But you got there, the YZ250 > CRF250r definitely.

From my experience (which isn't a hole lot) hondas are a much easier bike to control but yamahas are generally quicker in a straight. It's kinda hard to compare these two bikes but i personally like the yamaha.

@ 3:13 250yz :)
ParaDutch 1 year ago
the reason you had same lap times is your hitting the track harder and faster on your crf250 and your slacking a little bit in the turns on the yz250 if you at hit the track as hard on the yz250 you would have been faster
rwcms08 1 year ago
@rwcms08 He's just trying out the YZ in this vid, it's probably too much power to handle as well as he could the CRF. I know when I got on my friends CR250, after riding a crappy kx125 for a long time, it was a whole new experience. Extremely hard to handle because you don't know the bike yet.
SuperTittiez 1 year ago
the crf was much better at the handling and power

i have a 2007 yz250f. Nice bike love it but it seems to be too much maintenence. Like to check valves every 20 hours and oil changes every 10 and all that so i might just get a yz250. What do you think of the yz250? Like was it a big step up from the crf250?
JustRide626 1 year ago
@JustRide626
The crf had a constant power and was reliable comming out of turns and going over jumps.
bmx418 1 year ago
@bmx418 ya im going to switch to a 2 stroke for sure but i might get a 125 and 250. With what i will hopefully get for my bike i can hopefully get a 125 and 250. My bike has some decent speed but i dont think that the 2 stroke will be to much to handle. Thanks man.
JustRide626 1 year ago
@JustRide626 there not too much too handle, you just cant gun it or you will be on your back.

and by the looks of it u can nice vid
JesseridesBMX 1 year ago
yz250 is awesome and is fast, its all preference tho. i want a 250 2 stroke so bad.. right now at my dad's i ride a 1984 yamaha It 200 2 stroke and at my mom's a 2001 Honda Xr 200r 4 stroke. (2 stroke is faster and more fun)
warboy1psn 1 year ago
@warboy1psn thats cause the yamaha is a older motocross bike and the honda is a woods bike its like saying that a rm125 is faster then a ttr125 (have them both) of course the rm will kill the ttr
zcdirtbiker94 1 year ago
@zcdirtbiker94 yea i know, it is basically that way and it doesn't really have a power band just good constant power (so fun)!!

put your elbows out more. and stand up more. dont be scared to crack the thrttle nad feather your clutch in the burms... if you get sideways and think your gonna wash out give it more throttle.

i am probably a little too small for a 250 in power but i dont wanna buy a 125 and move up again? should i jus go with the 250 and learn to handle it???
TechPBpaintball 1 year ago
@TechPBpaintball
I am 5'9 and my weight is 150 lbs and currently ride a yz450f which has more weight than a yz250. At 130 lbs are u strong enough to pick it up off the ground because it will put u there ay some point, the power can be controlled u will get used to it.
bmx418 1 year ago
@bmx418 k thanks
TechPBpaintball 1 year ago
@TechPBpaintball i had a little bike before it was an XR80r and i wanted to do the same cause i wanted a 250 and didn't want to get a 125 cause i didn't want to buy an other bike but i got the 125 and its perfect for me and i love it and it has lots of power and its quick and easy to handle anywhere.

do u think a 14year old handle a yz250 he already has an 85 and is getting a new bike he has rode lots of 250f
theyz85fmf 1 year ago
@theyz85fmf Go for it , if u rode 250f's then it wont be to bad of a jump in power but watch out for the power band it can snap ur arms off !!! LOL

i think the 4 stroke was better on the track but the yamaha had better power.

What's better the 2 or 4 stroke 250? Witch is eaiser on the track?
MrLilpete75 1 year ago
@MrLilpete75 The 250 4 stroke is easier on the track but the 2 stroke has more power and is faster.
bmx418 1 year ago
@MrLilpete75 250f, if you're a beginner. it has more controlled power, unlike a 2 stroke. personally, i prefer the 2 stroke over 4 stroke, but i strongly suggest a 4 stroke for a beginner. with a 2 stroke, you have to be balls out, they're made to be beaten on and to keep pinned the entire time.

which bike did u like better lol personally i love 2 strokes... i have a 2001 cr 125 now and it rips i love it but ive been riding and racing 2 strokes basically my whole life but the crf did look like the suspension was a little better on the landing but i would go with the yz just because i love it hahaha
crimson22s 1 year ago
I liked the 2 stroke but never rode it enough to get used to it the 4 stroke is my favorite it was much easier to handle. I couldn't get the 2 stroke to slow down!
bmx418 1 year ago
The Yz would have did just as good over the jumps if he knew how to drive a 2 stroke
BLUUDTRAIL 1 year ago
Well i love both bikes but the crf did way better over the jumps with its stiff suspension, but that 2 stroke zing makes me run back every time =]

what does the reed valve do on a 2 stroke ? do u have to adjust anything cause of it ?
hondaman7578 1 year ago
@hondaman7578 you can adjust the reed valve itself but once its set you do nothing they work off suction on the intake and pressure from the piston coming up to push the exhaust out the other
MuayThai8548 1 year ago
You definitely look alot more comfortable on the CRF. The YZ certainly likes to throw the dirt around lol.
