It's hard to do an F but you can cheat it or just practice it a lot of times. Most music you will encounter have F's in it so the effort is well worth the investment.

Mostly just practice really, you can try playing each string as you hold the chord shape to work out which strings are muted and move your hand as appropriate. It takes time to build up the strength in your hands to do bar chords properly.

You can if you want or alternatively you can have a look at the other lesson I have posted on this song where you use a capo on the 5th to avoid using a bar chord. I usually only learn songs that we can use live for gigs so I can't promise anything but I'll have a look at any requests to see if it useful to us.

Thanks I really appreciate it!!! Yes I am playing the F as a bar chord, they take a while to get right, you have to build up the strength in your hands and the only way to do that is to practice, bar chords took me ages when I first started. If you check out my other lesson on Let It Be Beginner version you will see that you can avoid the bar chord by using a capo on the 5th which is what I do with my beginner students and especially young kids who don't yet have the hand strength.

The only cure for that is practice, practice and more practice!!! Down strums are good to start with, then slowly add in the strumming maybe with just one chord to start with. It also helps sometimes to play along with the recording, you could try playing along with our cover of this song which may help.
