Actually most people celebrate Guy Fawkes Night for different reasons. It's either: 1.) Honouring him for what he was trying to do. 2.) Laughing at him for screwing it up. 3.) Just for fireworks. And there's more. I did research last month for a school project and nearly every website no child has ever been poisoned or killed by something that's in a sweet they got on Halloween. Samhain means Summer's end, it was a harvest festival celebrated by pagans. It was also a time when many believe the lining of the living world and the dead world were at their thinnest and the dead could walk the earth once again. I looked some things up about this Monsters Madness and Mayhem series and found it is produced by a company called Associated Television International. Essentially they put out a lot of crap, most of it with a sensationalistic appeal and probably real cheap for a station to air.

No actually, as far as we know "Trick-or-Treating" is 100% an American invention. Trick-or-Treating can only be traced back to the early 1920's. Before trick-or-treating, there were widespread pranks and mischief on Halloween, with a lot of property damage and even a few deaths. Trick-or-Treating probably evolved as a social contract, whereby children recieved bribes of candy in exchange for not performing pranks on neighbors.
