these reviews would have been a lot more helpful and interesting if you talked instead of the weird music. thank you for showing me what it looks like though.
KDE...I'm really wonder what is better;Gnome and KDE. But as I saw, if my computer has enough RAM memory, I think KDE is better than Gnome. I'm gonna test it.
400 MB is too much. That 's the reason why i don't like KDE. it costs alot of resource for unnecessary things. My ubuntu 9.04 only costs 200 MB on my laptop (dell 1420n with 2GB of RAM).
I admit that GNOME is not very beautiful but it still looks good with me (at least after i customized it :D)
My Samsung NC10 is great, 1.6ghz (All right :S), 2gb DDR2 ram (Great!) 160gb HDD (Great) an 256mb v-ram (Great!) So i think i will look at this soon :) Kubuntu or Ubuntu?
@lukic04 Gnome is more beautiful if you'd ask me too :D
But anyway,KDE is a lot heavier, not because RAM but because stronger graphics card is needed and netbooks have it integrated on mainboard so it runs slow.
KDE resembles (to me) the more modern OSes out there (like Vista and Win7) (OSX hasn't changed much hence the no mention) Gnome resembles XP, though both GUIs look great and it comes down to how you want your interface to feel and perform for me it's KDE. great vid
KDE Netbook is soooo god man! I love it!

Its next to impossible to find this release starting at the main xubuntu site. A lot of distros have terrible websites.

Yes it surely is.
But!
imo it's not a good idea to have KDE as a desktop environment on a netbook. It's too heavy for it.
Gnome is more configurable and light.
And imo also gnome is more beautiful than KDE =)

I think that KDE is going to be a good choice for netbooks, because they are working hard on it.
Gnome is not so netbook friendly .
And it's not heavy at all. On my desktop pc it's usually around 400 MB of RAM and netbooks come with at least 1GB.
And about the beauty this is the first time that I heard someone saying that Gnome is more beautiful :)

this is YOUR point of view.
kde 4.3 on my pc takes 170mb .... with 3d effects.
gnome much more. and i have an intel... with another pc with ati it's amazing.
for me gnome is ugly. and without some stuff i use really often for example terminal emulation on file manager
and many many other things like a nice cd burner..
gnome is not for me. Kde is light. fast and with a lots of configurable stuff.
i prefer lxde to gnome if i want something of really light not gnome...

if anything, Gnome is DEFINITELY not more configurable than KDE
