  • how do you make an indie game for xbox??

  • This song is incredible. Like it gave me chills. Is there anyway of getting it?

  • smart idea

  • someone give me song from the menu

  • This game is really good but the only problem is that the box costs wayyyyyy too much. I managed to get a good deal on one though. The one I got cost me $70 and it came with a free pair of shoes! :D

  • lets tap for wii rip off

  • Actually; you are "tapping" an imaginary "button". so.. yeah..

  • It looks literally identical to lets tap. It has the same concept, and the same neon characters running against abstract backgrounds.

  • @warcrea @seedmanee with the difference that xbox doesn't have any motion sensor, this is the first game on the xbox with this controller scheme (I think).

And... other gamer from the same developer have this neon style, it's their own style

  • This idea is the same as Let's Tap on Wii

  • very interesting idea! I'll be on the lookout for this

  • how are you sensing the tap?

  • @matthewdoucette My random guess is he turned off the deadzone control for the thumb-sticks, which makes them very sensitive to input. That's probably completely wrong though. ;) Has this gone to play-testing? I hope everyone, with their controllers are able to get the same results. The game looks like a lot of fun; quite innovative if you ask me!

  • @DustinTigner

Yes, it's in playtest now and in the last 5 or 6 weeks :D

The playability may depend on the controller and on the box, in that case can be played as a standard one button game (player chooses)

  • @paperinik98 I found the game and gave it a go. It was late at night, so I didn't want to wake anyone. I did try to use a game cards box, which is a long rectangle and it didn't seem to work too well. I'll have to give it another run with a different box. Very interesting idea though. :)

  • @DustinTigner

it works quite well on the original xbox cardbox, but feel free to try other surfaces. I play on a ligth wood box.

  • @DustinTigner that sounds right. the bumpers are just 0 or 1 as far as i know, so it must be the thumbsticks changing their values (no matter what they change their values to)...

  • @matthewdoucette Actually, after playing the game and looking at how the controller sits, it would seem the triggers are used. Of course, this is just another wild guess. The triggers, however, work between 0 and 1. Little taps could register a slight press of the trigger. Perhaps it's a combination of all of them, though if you turn the deadzones off, you'd have to configure your own deadzones, otherwise you'd have a lot of non-relevant data. Hmm, it's fun to try to figure out. ;)

  • @DustinTigner oh yeah it does rest on the triggers! that's probably how it's done!

  • @matthewdoucette @DustinTigner

as soon as I'll post the code used to detect the taps you'll be surprised :D

  • @paperinik98 i'm guess you are just looking for any changes in values from any of the inputs..... that's my guess lol

  • If you want the code for the input write me on youtube send a PM and I am going to tell you its not complicated :)

  • @matthewdoucette

soon I will write a post about the "tap sensing" system, it's not as simple as it seems :D
