I have the music of William Grant Still, in particular this piece which is from his suite...I have to say, I wish more orchestra will take a look at the music of William Grant- Still....the entire suite is just amazing...

Such talent was lost in our history because of our predjudice. This song means a lot to me. William Grant Still one of the greatest black composers ever.

I heard this young woman play this with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra this past summer 2008 at the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church. It was one of the most moving interpretations of Afro-American composer William Grant Still's "Mother and Child" that I have ever heard. Brava!!!!
