im 14 and i got homebrew and everything, i dont know what is what. so i just get gecko os, and some emulators, i NEVER delete stuff. i just hope it doesnt somehow brick outta nowhere

@GreyK1tsun3 Long as you just do that, then don't worry about. Using Gecko OS and any old emulator will not brick your Wii. Only if you install something incorrectly or uninstalled something important. If you want to install something like Bootmii, you can always find tutorials on the internet. It's completely safe and in no way can you brick your way if you follow the steps

@jimmybrown1221 Bootmii as Boot2 is the shit, man. But if it can't be installed as boot then the only thing you can do is Bootmii as an IOS and the latest priiloader. Sorry to hear you got that model. yea it's picky about sdhc sd cards so get like a store brand SD card or any recommendable one.

@Bomebermailer Sorry to hear that. Have you tried the other method with a Gamecube controller in the 4th port? If that doesn't work, it sounds like a full brick. Usually if you have neither homebrew, (bootmii or priiloader) , then there's a slim chance you can repair the wii yourself. May as well send it for repairs or at a local gaming store and see if they can help you.

I've tried to repair my uncle's Wii the same way, however, it didn't work as an updated fully bricked his Wii.

@dennis941012 Then it's a brick. Nothin else. Either send it to Nintendo or get a new one. Doing the latter would be a bit more money and possibly get you one of those models where you can only install Bootmii as an IOS. You should go send it the manufacturers and see how it goes. Say the recent update messed it up and of course, take out the sd card.

i guess it's my Wii that has issues. From the letter I got from Nintendo, it said the entire Circuit Board fried/or some thing and got replaced, bascially: Wiis can break themselves.

my wii firmware is 3.2e pal and i do not have preloader, savemii, gamma, starfall or wii brick blocker. i boot wad manager 1.4 through homebrew channel, not a channel itself. i got into savemiifrii by gc controller and then tried to run an autobooting disc and it didn't work so i tried all my games and a couple of my friends games and still no responce. the newest game i tried was family game night. help

There's something wrong with my Wii and also had the same problem as yours but when I tried to turn my Wii power on, the green light didn't show up and I had to hold the power button, caused the blue LED light to start flickering until finally, the green light on the power button shows. Then, came out the black screen on my TV. What does it mean? Is my Wii spoiled or bricked?

I did an update on 4.2 ver, though before it happens. : /

Sounds like the 4.2 update caused the brick, which Nintendo said was their fault and would fix a Wii free of charge.

So you're good to go, just call them and said the 4.2 update bricked your Wii.

There's probably the repairs fee and the possible hacking penalty fee. However, I had homebrew ands wads, and they still didn't charge me so who knows, they might not check to see. All they'll do is transfer your Wii Shop acc and info to the new wii

they dont fix hacking wii's. just lie about it. saying 4.2U bricked it. and they'll do it for free. if u said u softmodded or use any of that terminology they will say i'm sorry u unlawfully moddified the console and your out of luck.

they'll reformat your machine or put in a new motherboard is it's significant n unfixable. n put it back in it's original casing. i know they swap motherboards if u hav the graphic glitch that caused over time.

u could also say u bought it used n it was like that

i bricked my wii by installing about 7 WADS at one time with wad installer after installing the wads it went back to the menu and paused i restarted it, it comes up with that safety screen, i press a then just pauses at a black screen.

Hm...you might be able to save it. Since you got to safety screen, there's actually stuff you can do.

Try using that GC controller (an official one) SaveMiiFrii thing. If that doesn't help, then I'm not sure.

i do not have starfall, preloader, gamma, brick blocker or savemii. i have hombrew channel and i boot wad manager 1.4 off that, its not a propper channel and i tried a wad manager autoboot disc on a dvd-rw disc and still nothing happened i put in wii fit to update but nothing happened and a couple of other games. i have wii firmware 3.2e pal and please HELP ME OUT!!!!!

Ah. Then we can save your Wii since it showed the firmware.

You got any European game with 3.3E or further? You can update the Wii to that firmware and thus restoring the system menu and stuff.

If you updated when 4.2 first came out, Nintendo accidentally released a version that bricks your wii. if you did not mod your wii in any way, Nintendo can fix it.

Hey man i just wanna say. The same crappy thing happend to me, I ended up with a Jap version in the end and my wii never booted or it did but black screen was all I got. Anyways I called Nintendo and told them that it was a update failure so hopefully theyll just reinstall the software. NOTE: dont install preloader - its bad and what caused my problem in the first place so stay away from it you dont need it! anyways hope that helps and wish me luck :P

My suggestion is that you send it in for repairs (80-85 USD I think). And don't mention to them bout hacking. That's what I did

If you have system menu 4.0, then maybe you can save it, provided you have preloader 4.0

You can boot to the homebrew channel, boot to bootmii and do a NAND restore.

damn dudes dont u ever read? your never supposed to uninstall wads!!!! if you want to get rid of them pm me and ill give you a link!!! the proper way o get rid of wads are to reinstall your system menu using the downgrade your wii process. another way is if you bannerbrick and have preloader then you just actually install your system menu wad. it wipes almost everything off(even preloader) im sure running your clean nand will work also

click on the gears option than click on the thing with a thing going from an sd card to a chip. make sure the nand backup you made is on the root of the sd card, then click and it will unbrick wii. but you have to have made a nand backup befoe it bricked fro this to work.

using the GC controller. Look it up on Youtube I'm guessing you can actually salvage the Wii. It doesnt seem to be a full brick from what you're telling me.

It possible means that the laser inside the Wii is broken, making it unable to read discs. Well if you ever do send it, make sure you get rid of any homebrew/wads and stuff,

I may have a similar problem where I can turn on my Wii with the Remotes, but then they wouldn't sync. I would just stay there at the eternal black screen.

I Softmoded then bricked from a update to 4.0U. I called nintendo they said that they would fix it for free telling them only that their update was the only reason for my brick. I fixed it - Universal Unbrick Disk V2. Than very stupidly installed a theme in which now all get is the notorious black screen of death, lol. I did what every handy man modder would do and bought a modchip and try to fix it myself.After that failed. I called nintendo - $76.53 O god.

I had Bootmii installed but didnt realize I installed it as IOS and not Boot2 so when this happened, I couldn't get to Bootmii and I knew what had to be done.....RMA time :-(

that's because you don't have the right files in your bootmii folder. all you need is 3 files. the armboot.bin, bootmii config file, and ppcboot.elf. mine gave me the same problem l0l

There are only 2 ways to fix this

1) Have bootmii installed

2)Change your Nand

Yeah. I actually installed Bootmii when I got my 2nd wii. so I basically have everything fixed at this point.

Well its not necessarily changing it but its more of backing it up on a SD card so that if the Wii bricks, Bootmii can restore it to normal, that is if backed up the nand.

Well I ended up having to get a new Wii. But I called the Big N for repairs for $85. Not sure bout now as there's rumours of charging a penalty for modding a Wii.

But you should still send the Wii in anyway and see what happens.

Notice that the Wii warning screen never came up. It infinitely loops on the black screen of death since I took out IOS30 aka the system menu wad Not that it matters anymore since I have a repaired Wii.
