I didn't know that Amtrak used the superliner cars on the san diegans. I thought they just used the amfleets.

That first train looks like the one they used to run when they did the run through coaches with the Coast Starlight. I think that idea lasted through one or two versions of their timetable before it was dropped. Thanks for sharing this video, it's a classic.
