  • 84" id

  • what size pipe is this 72" or is this bigger looks bigger

  • Where is the backdoor basher in this vid?

  • How come the sides are not shored!! Nice video tho.

  • @Skara555 A test trench was monitored for many months, with never a trench wall failure. Soil was tested by Geo engineers. The soil is very hard, decomposed volcanic rock and cemented naturally. Soil load bearing reading exceeded test scale schedule. Final determination followed OSHA standards of the time. Some trenches were shored, depending on other factors such as weather, Duration, depth, width, vibration, and others.

  • @hatilt Thank you.

  • funny i was laying some pipe larst night

  • seanyboy; Thanks, yes safety to my fellow workers is most important. I guess there are people with positive thoughts..

  • yep knock on wood now they do this in england with 2 people it just keeps getting safer and safer out there .

  • It's actually a 1 year old, 450 Hitachi. Thi pipe is a rotary cast, reinforced, bell and spigot, about 13 tons, made locally per city specs. Yes, the sub grade and bed course was graded with a pipe laser. These 3 guys are the entire labor force, and does everything to build a housing subdivision, and this company would never reduce the crew to save money. One guy is the foreman. We have been doing this for 30 years and have not had an accident, other the the band aid kind. Knock on wood.

  • @hatilt Good work fellas! I am i foreman pipelayer with a large company over here in the uk and do exactly what you do! guys are very safe at your work and must enjoy it as much as i do. be safe guys.

  • they look like 18oo storm drain pipes , its ok at that depth i dont use shoring if the ground conditions are ok , the machine looks like an old daewoo or hitachi ,im an english guy sub contractor , did you guys use a pipe lazer to align your pipes in or a rotating lazor with a staff , usally only 2 of us does this with a machine driver good vid tho .

  • at the ripe old age of 56 a bitch slap still hurts next time u post shit just wait there will be some one one step a head of u just to tell u poo on u if this is as good as u have got dont roll off your sister and waist our time not all people that do dirt make them selves plastic fantastic look up when u where last on and last time u commented on this now just look at hatilt everyone and cu 4 what u are ive helped u be more popular being a simpleton australia kicks your ass crease licker

  • Hey jock, if you have posted any positive comments anywhere, tell me where, I'd like to improve my opinion of you.

  • @hatilt no only focused on this one .Your opinion of me cares less but goverment agencies and geotechnical engineer said its ok to work in unstable earthquake env so u know when natural disasters occur .the only real negative is your ability to put workers in these situations and its ok it kills. When u pull someone u know out after a collapse go to the funeral and say it was a accident?look u dont have to wish me well just the guys that work with u everything u have written is there 4everyone 2c

  • Bless you jock, wish you peace in your life. It is obvious that you don't know what you are talking about. Safety is not the negative, you are. The lack of shoring and shape of the trench was determined by the soil tests according to OSHA standards. You can continue to look for negatives, but your ignorance shows through if you weren't there.

  • To Roninfalls only. You are correct. Everything shown was tested, engineered, and inspected by 3 government agencies. Laws and rules vary in different regions, and those who compare it with other regions, just lack understanding or are looking for negatives. . Thanks for your input.

  • @hatilt didnt know safety was a negative 3 government agencies i swear shoring dates back later than 1990s or even a escape rout with a ladder now we have a geotechnical engineer and three gov agencies in the 1990s where everything ive suggested rarely took place yes different laws but basic commonsence should be world wide im wondering that both comments come at the same time is it phone a friend time ps to roninfalls only kiss kiss hatilt gives a shit nerv damage.

  • No you didn't, and could honestly give a shit less than your opinions on the matter. If you couldn't tell it's pretty clear that this job took place in the early '90's, where everything you suggested rarely took placed.

  • @Roninfalls need a hug.

  • we have higher standards down under rubber band goes on out side of pipe, not inside to join. also from old to new pipe concrete band reinforced mesh is added for extra stability for transition multiple pipe runs we sandbag between pipes and concrete slurry half way up pipe.again i cant state this enough if u have to tell someone how good or how experienced u r it doesnt wash with me Roninfalls still waiting for your geotechnical engineer to turn up, can post video whos interested.

  • @jocklastrapp Your a complete idiot, that does nothing more than troll around youtube, spouting garbage as fact. Beat-it nerd. I'm done with you douche

  • @Roninfalls must have hit a nerve 4 u no shoring no vests no public barriers no signs nosafety lights at 304 pan out they made this video them selves from orange pick up 18132 views can read what u have said in the past grout upside down my fav geotechnical engineer what i have said is with in our work structure not to your sub standards.ps when u cant think of any thing to say a hint dont use troll in your sentances it shows u have used it before and it makes the kiddies nervous idiot

  • You can't say for sure if that is lined pipe or not. In which case a rubber is not required. I'm not to sure how many large diameter pipes you've installed, but I've install lots and there is nothing wrong with quality of work these guys are doing.

  • a geotechnical engineer u are good no safety vests but they have one of those and u try and grout upside down and tell me its quicker than flex rubber banding in a siezmic unstable sub grade sorry roninfalls doesnt wash think out side the square.

  • There is nothing wrong with that job. Just because there is no shoring doesn't mean it's unsafe, they could just as well have had the ground certified by a geotechnical engineer. As for the sealing of the joints, they could be grouting them from the inside.

  • no benching no shoring no sealing joints rubbers and your telling me every pipe is the same so sub grade trenching base is perfect .more than 1 mould is used so not all pipes are the same unless u get all same numbered pipes from same mould lined up .Where i come from when someone tells u how long they have been doing the same job they arnt good at what they do . you work out how good they are i call them a knob sorry u have been installing pipe for 20 years thank god i wasnt there!

  • the pipe is probably rotatary cast that way gravity only improves on the roundness insted of distorting roundness.

  • even if rotary cast doesnt mean gradiant is ok take a look at surrounding factors mentioned with out safety and sealing factor just sticking pipe in a hole oh well as long as the water goes some where old people mentality .

  • after the last earthquake this pipe will be broken :-) shit happends

  • The only thing I see, that I have to point out that is totally different, is that in this video the walls of the trench are way, way, WAY too steep than what we do here!

This must mean that the dirt there is totally different than the dirt here.

In North Dakota this trench would have caved in and covered the rock and made a real mess.

But the video shows trench walls that stay put?

  • I'm a licensed pipe layer in Dakota...you guys hiring?

  • @AlanMolstad You have to be licensed to lay pipe?

  • @PicklesandFrogs yes, You cant be down in the trench without passing your license test.

  • @AlanMolstad Apparently thats not the law in Idaho.

  • if the bottom is graded rite then u shud neva have 2 ajust a pipe

  • thats a big machine

  • nice work... vary organized and efficient. Wish we had soil that stable here!

  • delta look like.

  • The ground crew; three men doing a two man job? Waste of money :(

  • Of course at 21 years old you know it all. Ive been installing pipe for 20 years so you were 1 when i started, and my opinion is they did a fine job with this piece of pipe. The grade looks good, the operator is fairly smooth, the men stayed clear as the pipe was being lowered in. Good job.

  • not really,

  • Ok.I like this video didatic...

  • Nice trench bud, grade looks good to i like it when the city makes us compact the trench bottom like that its a hassle but better in the long run.
