@Brijido1989 GT-R is not an AWD system, its a 4WD system which yes there is a big difference because it has a torque balance distributor which allows the driver to switch the power to the wheel's to either a 50-50 (4WD) or lean it towards more an FR with a (10 in the front and 90 in the rear torque balance) AWD does not have that system as the front and rear wheels are automatically set to the 50-50 ratio and cant be changed.

@97432561 Although this GT-R R-34 and the R34 running in this movie have the same engine, the RB26DETT, the GT-R R-34 has an all wheel drive traction system (it's an 4WD) and has traction control. This R-34 in the race is only rear wheel drive (FR) and the front bumper and headlights differ slightly from the real GT-R R34...hope you understand it

A GTT is a RWD with a 2.5 cc engine 5 gear transmission(forgot engine wat model)

A GTR is a AWD with a 2.7cc RB26 Dett engine 6 gear transmission

The weight between this 2 car is different,GTR is more heavier.

And the front bumper is diffrent

It seems that K.T. won is because of drafting(wind resistance) instead of what he mentioned here. Kind weird that they never mentioned anything about drafting in Initial D, unless I missed it. =/

It's still an R34 though. R34 denotes which generation of Skyline it is, not which model. BNR34 and ER34 are both from the R34 generation. Just Wiki Nissan Skyline.

Also Keisuke did win because of cornering speed, read the manga. His speed leaving the corners was greater than his opponent's.

@Str4t0sPh3rE drafting doesnt do much at the low speeds of touge racing. if they were at talladega then maybe...but theyre constantly braking and accelerating on touge, draft is the least important performance technique in the mountains. downshifting, throttle control, downforce, suspenssion set up, power to weight, rack and pinion set up, camber/caster/toe, etc are all way more important. go back to watching nascar.

Sheesh, everyone's really worked up over this. Both cars are marvels of modern age automotive engineering, and both for very, VERY different reasons. In togue, given the amount of cash that's been dumped into the FD and my lack of knowledge on an r34 other than GT-R, I might score this one a draw. The 34's likely making more power, it's just a matter of displacement. That being said, the FD would probably stick better due to weight and suspension geometry. I do admire everyone's passion. :)

the skyline GT-T is a RWD model and doesn't come with the legendary ATTESA-ETS system but his was a Nismo tuned one with Lightened body and 400+hp and a 6 istead of 5 speed racing trany tuned by Nismo he also has Race brakes and a racing style cockpit but the FD has 350hp and is way lighter and quicker in the corners than a R34 could ever be (not including Mine's tuned models) but takahashi is a way better driver than this oldman he is on par with takumi in skils

R34 GT Turbo, there is more to the Skyline lineup than just GT-R's that are mostly known.

Skyline was originally a family car you know, the R32 even were shipped with a 1.8 litre NA motor in a family sedan while the GT-R is a sportier tuneup of the same car.

A quick look on Wikipedia should tell you more about the Skyline and broaded your horizon on the Horizon (Try translating Skyline into a similar word.)

Read CMDR's comment. The Skyline came in a lot more trims than just the popular GTR. If you were to compare the GTR is pretty much like the Honda Type-Rs, they're the high performance models of the Skyline.

The GT Skyline is like the original Skyline, the original family car, they're RWD as opposed to the GTR's AWD.. The GT-T is a turbo version of that, kind of like how Hondas have the Si models, the trim before the Type-R's in terms of performance.

Difference between the R34 and ER34 is the the ER is an RB25 , rear wheel drive, and the R34 is the RB26 4WD w/ altessa system. all GTR model come with RB26 4WD, and the ER are with the RB25. Look of the GTR with different setup.

the r34 gt-t a good 130-150 kilos lighter then a gtr with 270-280 hp from the neo rb25 engine with some minor mods can reach impressive numbers though lacking the torque of the rb26 the lighter wieght means they still go hard in a straight line if youv ever been in a skyline gt youl feel how light the big bodys really are my mates r33 gtst only has 260hp but they weigh 1370 kilos

so it can even chase my 1jzgte supra down which is a good 300 kilos heavyer the gt t is a very underestimated car !

What's the point of an FR if your racing grip you say. I suppose if you have an FR then your suppose to drift all the time, is that what your saying? I suppose in Nascar, Le mans , Rolex series (love that one) & F1 all those FR cars should start drifting right? Come on man, drifting only works effectively under certain conditions, that's it. Fourth stage was developed with the help of Tsuchiya Keiichi to help remove all the unrealistic stuff from previous stages. No more crazy drifting.

he's right on the money. if you notice in 1st-3rd stages all the courses are extreemly tight, especially nakazatos home track. that track is insanely tight. this 4th stage better shows how drifting can actually be an efective tool. especially in keisuke's final battle with god foot, but great point buntanoyatsu
