If you have a shortcut on the desktop, just double-click it, and when a window pops up, press the big Play-button.
If there's no shortcut, it should be located in the start-menu (lower left corner button with the Windows-logo). Click it, click "All Programs", open "Electronic Arts", and there should be The Sims 3. Then, press the big Play-button.

No... no seasons at all... but they do allow you to plant and harvest potatoes, tomatoes etc.! Something that "was" in the Seasons expansion pack for The Sims 2! Though no grass sims.

The third example is a bit more complex: if you're not the owner of the computer, you must ask for permission to run it on the computer. If you don't get permission to run it on the computer, you're outta luck.
As I said, these are only a few examples of what may be causing this. In the end, if none of these work, try and reinstall the game. Works sometimes.

how do you upload this becuase i've used the in-game video capture mode and ive tried uploading the video to youtube but it seems like it takes forever and it never really finishes i have to cancel the upload b/c it makes my other windows run slow as hell so yea give me some tips please i'd appreciate it :D
The slower the upload speed, the slower the upload goes (you should know that). If, for instance, you have an upload speed of 512 kbit/s, and the file is approximately 100 MB in size, it would take almost half an hour. If the upload makes the other computers run slow, try on another computer (if you have one). If you don't have, then upload it when you're supposed to do something else (and it takes long enough time for the upload to be finished when you return).
Also, what quality do you record the video? If it's "Very High" (or "uncompressed"), the file would become almost infinitely big! Try "High" or even "Medium". Saves you a lot of space and time. If it's already on "High" or lower, you should be ready to upload the video.

The built-in recorder for the game. Not any buggy free screen recorders.
To record, just press the button with an old-style (like 1920s style) video camera on the lower leftmost of the interface. The edges will be filled with a yellow line, with a red 1920s-style video camera at the upper rightmost corner.
You can also change the time limit for the videos in seconds at the Options-menu. I have set it to a standard of 600 seconds, or exactly 10 minutes, the video length limit on YouTube.

The reason the computers in sims 1 are lower and sims 3 higher is probably some political, apocoliptic type thing.

This game takes place "before" The Sims 1, remember. Here, Mortimer is a child. Bella is a child too!
In short: The Sims 3 precedes The Sims 1.
