It,s interesting that the 4 biggest parts in the movie were taken by Americans playing Americans, even if this short clip ex American airmen are interviewed to talk about the escape ..the fact is Hollywood has re written history ... No American took part in the great escape .. Americans were housed in the compound next to the compound holding the British/Commonwealth prisoners. The Americans and British had been housed together but had been separated by the time the escape happened.

i remember,my dad took me to see this movie,and squadron 633,i was 8 or 9, in scotland,sat through these movies, and fell in luv with steve mcqeen,or was it ,fantastic motorcycles,with omg riding. thanks for the great memories,of my father

man what i hate is i look at the uniforms in the movie and at times the guys whereing blue with wings on there jacket look like germans.. jez lol

@divirix I believe that map shows locations of of the Prisoner of war camps... and the one they were in for the movie was III east of Berlin
