Why are there so many old, poor Republicans ? I mean really old and really poor. There are a lot of them. Perhaps I didn't find this funny because I've heard the context from which most of these patched-together quotes come.
Just a thought...if you thought the thing about the tires sounded absurd, you should read up a little more about the potential for drilling in the US. He's not really exaggerating: drilling here might decrease prices a couple pennies--in ten years, when new sites are actually operating. Might as well go check those tires...

The thing about the tire inflation is true to certain degree, but you might only save 0.5-1 MPG except in the most extreme cases. Even low-rolling resistance tires only advertise a 2-5% increase in fuel milage. If drilling here had no effect on the price of gas, the price of oil wouldn't have dropped $13/barrel the same week President Bush announced that he would not renew the executive ban on offshore drilling. Even the threat of higher production levels affects oil prices.

I'm not going to dismiss religion because it's just a part of WHO people are. i'm very laissez faire about this topic, it has always been a personal choice for people to accept or disagree with it. Wouldn't stick a beef patty in front of a Hindu. Wouldn't impose bacon on a Jew. And I think the Christian hate is a little excessive too. The entire topic of abortion is more effectively dealt with outside of politics, like many other things. Government should be out of our personal lives.

There are 2 ads that McCain put out there that has me and other Obama supporters a little miffed. We expect an anti-Obama ad. That's just politics. But lying is crossing the line. 1. arthur Fair point about the Rush/McCain ad. Rush is known critic of McCain. I think Obama didn't do his homework on that ad. As inaccurate as that ad may have been, it's nowhere near as nasty as insinuating that your opponent likes children in an unseemly manner. Obama's ad was factually inaccurate. I can admit that. But McCain's ad with the Sex-Ed thing was just plain nasty...and untrue.
