Manly beach in Sydney was a bit scarey, because it had a shark enclosure around the beach and you could see jellyfish in the water, but otherwise Sydney is awesome and fun - very busy - like the New York of Australia, Queensland is great for tropical weather (just don't go there right now - the place has been destroyed by a hurricane), Darwin is perfect. South Australia - wineries are great, beaches are great. Tasmania - lots of history, nature and it snows in winter
Funniest thing I've ever been asked as an Australian is "do you keep kangaroos as pets?" by an American over the internet. I said "no, they're native animals."
Oh, and the best question was "can you see through the sea water? Is it clear?" Yes, our waters are pristine... just watch out for the jellyfish in queensland waters, and the sharks in SA waters (although, there's not that many!)

Australia is a dried out desolate, dreary place with little natural wonder. No lakes, no rivers, no mountains, nothing at all that captures the imagination. A very dull place especially considering its geographic size. Its the same no matter where you go.

Australia has more ski slopes than Switzerland. We have floodplains, wetlands, marshes, mangroves and we have water holes, which are more beautiful than dumb lakes! :P Surrounded by gum trees and wild flowers set in a vista of amber and red cliffs. Kakadu national park is the size of Israel and it is so rich and diverse in life it was up for running as one of the 7 natural wonders of the world, but that wouldn't be fair 'cause our barrier reef is already one of them!

The north end of Australia has diverse tropical environments, traveling down the east coast you meet the amazing mountain ranges and then into the snow covered alpine region. The western side of Australia is still widely untouched and remote like you say, but it is such an adventure to travel there and so rewarding!
To sum it all up Australia enclosed in a stunning and diverse coastline. From pristine white sand beaches to cliff coasts, mangroves, mud flats, reefs and so many islands to explore! Also our people and culture are something to enjoy. The aboriginal history dates back 50,000 years, listen to their dream time stories and view their cave paintings dotted around the outback.
The rest of Australia's people are made up of cultures from all over the world, a melting pot of people as they say, much like America. So don't diss Australia, as you have not truly explored its beauty. Thank you for your time!
Oh and I forgot to add if you like food, Australia has the best wine regions in the world! We grow lots of fruits and nuts 'cause we have such a diverse climate. We also make great cheeses and we are very much into beer! Our livestock is exported all over the world as a delicacy as we take great care. went to europe a year ago n pretty much can say that were very lucky to live in australia, basic things that we take for granted here like clean beaches cities parks roads, free toiltes, fair n just societies, friendly n honest people n basically clean n modern everything dont exist in most european coutries, europe is beautiful but its not nearly as advanced as i thought its good to go n visit but i could NEVER live there, so glad to be home in a truely 1st world nation

That survey only counts 'reported' rape, in countries where women feel safe with reporting it. Also 'rape' includes the mildest forms of sexual assault according to those 'accurate statistics' you are referring to. Also that survey was from 1998-2000. From the period 2002- the survey is much different. Have a good day :D

No they don't apply equally because different countries have different laws under what is labelled a sexual assault and what isn't. In the US it is vaginal, oral or sexual penetration. In Australia and Canada it includes any sort of inappropriate gesture. Also in Australia they used a phone survey to gather data and even 'threatened' sexual assault was counted in the numbers. It's about as 'legitimate' as watching fox news.

Australia is a dried out desolate, dreary place with little natural wonder. No lakes, no rivers, no mountains, nothing at all that captures the imagination. A very dull place especially considering its geographic size. Its the same no matter where you go.

Those are called hills they are hardly mountains even by the most generous definition. And try to name a single significant lake in Australia? Not a pond or a temporary lake but a real lake. Also Australia is one of few places without a single fast flowing river in the whole country. Even the Murray-Darling river, the biggest river in the country, dries up in places.

Australia has more ski slopes than Switzerland. We have floodplains, wetlands, marshes, mangroves and we have water holes, which are more beautiful than dumb lakes! :P Surrounded by gum trees and wild flowers set in a vista of amber and red cliffs. Kakadu national park is the size of Israel and it is so rich and diverse in life it was up for running as one of the 7 natural wonders of the world, but that wouldn't be fair 'cause our barrier reef is already one of them!

Moving back up into the oldest mountain ranges in the world the Flinders Ranges, not so tall these days as they have been eroding for 540 million years! Then into the sun burnt outback, still rich in life, a large variety of lizards, snakes, spiders, marsupials and beautiful wild flowers. The western side of Australia is still widely untouched and remote like you say, but it is such an adventure to travel there and so rewarding!

Oh and I forgot to add if you like food, Australia has the best wine regions in the world! We grow lots of fruits and nuts 'cause we have such a diverse climate. We also make great cheeses and we are very much into beer! Our livestock is exported all over the world as a delicacy as we take great care. The best thing is you can't argue with what I've said as I have evidence to back it all up. HAhA! Seriously though, come to Australia! You won't regret it! :)

went to europe a year ago n pretty much can say that were very lucky to live in australia, basic things that we take for granted here like clean beaches cities parks roads, free toiltes, fair n just societies, friendly n honest people n basically clean n modern everything dont exist in most european coutries, europe is beautiful but its not nearly as advanced as i thought its good to go n visit but i could NEVER live there, so glad to be home in a truely 1st world nation
