  • i love this sketch, it is so funny, but i really do hate canned laughter, it spoilt The Fast Show and also all of Harry Enfeild's shows too. i don't see the point of it being there :(

  • @6.05. Nice piss-take of that fake enfant-terrible Nigel Kennedy.

  • I don't blow....

    I suck.

  • I remember nearly falling off the couch laughing at the Acker Bilk comment when I first saw this.

  • Acid skiffle should make a comeback

  • I get the feeling that many a famous jazz musician has cameo'd on this and I wouldn't even know about it

  • The best parts are his expressions during songs. =)

  • Nice.

  • I still REALLY miss the Fast Show

  • @PeteWorld2010 So do I!

  • What happened to the one with the archery club that just fired arrows into the instruments??!

  • Normally I hate canned aughter, but it never pissed me off in the fast show or harry enfiled and chums.

  • Acid Skiffle............Nice

  • Acid Skiffle............Nice

  • Niiiiice..

  • @DarthClam - Yes, and they clearly wouldn't appreciate the beauty and power of Prog Rock either.

(Come on... the Jamiroquai parody was pretty darn amusing - don't forget, these were made at the height of the "Acid Jazz" wankfest of the 90's - I'm sorry they left out "Canadian Jazz Dance Group, THRUSK", because it was spot-on. I must see if I can find it...)

  • @mikeyposter Haha, point taken...

  • WHY DO PEOPLE DISLIKE THESE VIDEOS? Theres NOTHING to dislike about this...

  • @SaveTheArchitect its al either jazz snobs or people that just dont get it

  • What? The people who made this obviously know nothing about Jazz, this humor is random and irrelevant...

  • @DarthClam Is that you on bass?

  • this is hillarious - jazz is great but enjoy the humour....hahaha

  • this is hillarious - jazz is great but enjoy the humour....hahaha

  • @BezZo0 Agreed. These guys know better, but i can bet some liberal bastards at the Beeb said that the people are too stupid to know when to laugh if they aren't told so.

  • @EmmaYaBasta get your armchair politics out of my jaaaaaaaaaazzz

  • @BezZo0 LOL

  • @BezZo0 Who needs to fake it?? This is hilarious!

  • @BezZo0 I HATE YOU

  • @BezZo0 greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaat

  • Felix Dexter is The Man!

  • who else thinks that the guy on the keyboard from 9:12 onwards looks a bit like johnny depp when he was clean shaven.

  • @ec123456789able I think it is Johnny Depp. I know that he looks up to Paul Whitehouse with a lot of respect so he was invited to come and cameo in a few sketches.

    That's so deep :D

  • Theydon Bois being a place in Essex ;)

  • 7:20 Mark Williams face is just priceless!

  • Comment removed

  • the bit at 7:00 is a parody of composer john cage's 4,33 from 1952 which was basically 4 minutes and 33 seconds of silence. the bit at 9:00 is a parody of jamiroquai.

  • i dont blow! i suck

  • tophotoproducciones1 - This isn't a mediocre joke about Jazz, by people who don't understand the genre, it's a caricature hombre, it's poking fun at pretension. Enjoy it for what it is and don't take it so seriously mi amigo!

  • "You got departures of note C there, that's your harmonic series. But that's all you got, man! THAT'S ALL YOU GOT!"

"You can run up, you can run down, but you can't run sideways!"

Love the super closeups as he talks too, lol

  • Great? WONDERFUL!!!

  • I don't need no melted chocolate on the seats of my ferrari...

  • i don't understand why they laughht at the music , because the music is GREEAAT

  • @Palelevapure

The backing bands for these sketches represent Britiain's finest jazz musicians.

I'm a pro-jazz musician myself, and I think this is the best part of "The Fast Show".

  • The fast show is the best comdey show !!! :D

  • A terrible, terrible moment when Louis unplugs Caroline Ahern's piano - she was playing her arse off à la Herbie Handcrank and the other musos were all at sea without her scintillating input :-)

  • @twangbarfly

I agree - just as she was beginning her melodic exploration.

  • tune? this is jaaaazzzz!!!

    :))

  • HAve you got the episode from the last show with the bowman???

  • hilarious!!

  • nik nak no! amazing! nice!

  • The last one sounds like a mix between sublime / jazz / ska i like it :)

  • @dnrongo It's meant to be poking fun at Jamiroquai.

  • @dnrongo

Definitely Jamiroquai (Acid Jazz - niiiiiiice)

  • BRILLIANT !!!

All the "jazz muso's" are perfectly satirised here.

    Love it.

  • OMG HILARIOUS wtf with the guy with the sax lol teach me zazz pulease ...(no thnx ) Ive learned it for now lol :D

  • The Jamiroquai parody was hilarious and spot-on, and this is coming from a JK fan!

  • Jazz does sound so for some people XD

  • Rhon Herndon of Roseville CA here with this comment: this is one of the funniest videos I have ever seen! (Kudos to Scott Beckwith of Birdsong bass guitars for steering me to this vid.) The best humor is where people can make fun of themselves, kinda like how the English Monty Python crew made fun of Britains. The problem with too many people on this planet is they are unable to laugh at themselves (which actually makes me laugh at them!) We need more videos like this one.

  • Schmoking!

  • I've been a jazz fan for 35 years....this cracked me up completely..! Very, very funny..200 out of 10

  • Is Jeffery Jackson related to Early D from Bellamy's People?

  • Brilliant thanks for posting hahaha

    GREAT, PILES!!!!!!!! :D

  • How can you not watch this and laugh...

    KWALITAY & MINT!!!!!

  • genius! As a bebopper myself, I watch this rolled up in a ball of laughter on the floor. These guys know their jazz, take the piss out of it, and us muso's love them for it. hit's the nail on the head!!! Love it! (Nice!)

  • genius!

  • You got inhalation, you got exhalation, but they're two different things, you screw up you got mutilation - you see what I'm sayin'?

    Jackson Jeffrey Jackson

  • U could b postulatin' man but I fink wot ur sayin' is that all jazzers are full of 'ot air ??

  • "TUNE? This is JAZZ!!"

  • is this what jazz sounds like to people who are not used to it? OMFSM lol no wonder so little people dig it lol

  • @willshakeyou yes, yes it is. because some people simply take it WAY TOO FAR with the number of notes they use, almost takes all the harmony and melody right out of music. btw im classically trained jazz pianist, and still dont understand why people like it

  • Great. This is how I imagined Channel 4 might have done a show dedicated to Jazz in its early days. A lot of psudeo-intellectual, pretentious babble about how, 'great', and, 'nice', the artists music was, when really the presenter looks back at the camera with a look in his eye saying, 'Isn't this just total wank?' lol

  • A very humourous pastiche on the smugness of high art musical programmes on BBC 2. I believe the character was based on "Uncle" Bob Harris from TOGWT .

  • Clam on base...inspirational!

  • I'd forgotten how fantastic Jackson Jeffrey Jackson was. What a pioneer!

  • Woooooooooonnderful! Jeremy Kwee and his band Kumquat - Simon Day got this spot on!!! Niiiiiiice! (deep exhale)
