No lights are on nothing. i removed the battery and ac adapter for like 10 minutes and i put it back together and press the on button still nothing happens.

  • @chaoswings24 So far I read your message, seems that the battery/charger is not working anymore... try to charge the eee pc with a universal adapter..or try to loan a similar battery. Then you can locate the problem of this issue. Keep us posted about the results.. good luck

  • Removing the battery, give me a normal screen again. 2nd time this has happend with a brand new machine. Very annoying.

  • @pgm98387 Yes, I already saw this solution before on forums but this does not helped me. I even let the battery out for weeks... but thanks for your input, perhaps others Youtubers can use this fix... :D

  • @pgm98387 You can too press the reset button on the back of the eeepc.

  • @pgm98387 Mailed netbook to factory for repair. No problems since than. Repaired quickly but had to pay postage. Otherwise the machine is phenomenal.

  • Removing the battery, give me a normal screen again. 2nd this has happend with a brand new machine.

  • My desktop turns on but it won't boot nothing happens the CPU fan works and the HDD also seems to work

Before this happened I got a blue screen error and my pc froze

And I can't even get to do anything I just get a black screen

  • @Gibranmacias911 Can you also inform me if the lights of the Wifi, battery and harddisk stays on?

  • FYI, anyone looking for this fix: some EeePCs have a pinhole on the bottom that looks like >o< that accomplishes the same thing. Try that before you void your warranty.

  • @MyNameIsBucket: thanks for the tip, however this pinhole you mention is the reset button. Normally this should clear the Cmos memory but I tried this in the beginning but not fixed the problem. Therefore I managed to fix this problem with this solution...Anyway, thanks for your input, perhaps this works for other youtubers with this same problem.

  • @improm2u: In my description states a link with a clear instructions how to get the casing off..please do it step by step and voila.. good luck and hopefully this help you...

  • Can someone help me?

I turned on my Eee PC and got a screen saying

    Install OS Via USB

    Install OS Via CD-ROM

a bit oother stuff and yer i have XP btw.

I couldn't do anything its like it froze so i removed the battery and now it won't turn on :/ Someone please help.

  • @garfield346 : ever tried to connect a portable usb cd rom drive to your eee pc? If not...just borrow it from someone with an xp windows cd.. just plug the portable usb cd rom driver to your eee pc usb port and start your eee pc. Your eee pc should automatically find the portable cd rom with installation cd and start the os installation....Good luck

  • @indosolo Thats it though i have Windows XP installed and the laptop wont even turn on so its stuffed.

  • @garfield346 If he laptop doesnt even start up I am afraid the problem is something else, however please make a video of your problem and upload it to Youtube. Do not forget to describe the problem and Youtubers will help you! I am afraid I can not help you to solve this problem but I am sure that others can :D

    Good luck and take care

  • come on man, thanks so much to your helpful video. I thought that the bios chip of my 900 was bad and a simple solution come from you. Thanks again.

  • Here's a MUUUUUUUCH easier way to reset the CMOS.

    replace commas with periods

    forum,eeeuser,com/viewtopic,php?pid=716727

Taking everything apart is just way to much work compared to this approach.

  • @dpark76 thanks for the note. . My action was just the solution what worked to solve the problem. However better solutions are always better. . . Thanks and I hope your link helps other youtubers further. . .

  • @dpark76 I replaced the three commas with periods but the link still didn't work. Has that message been deleted for some reason?

  • @dpark76 nevermind. For some reason my cut&paste was adding a dash between the "ph" and the "p".

  • @chrsdj - yeah I just noticed that as well. On a related note, I still haven't been able to figure out why I'm getting the black screen problem. I think it's hardware related.

  • @dpark76 You've tried both the method you linked to (which worked for me today) and the way this video demonstrates (which I've used before)? Most likely bad RAM then.

  • o my god your a freakin god! friends of mine gave me there broken eee pc and they said it was broken and that i could have it but i tried this and it just worked!

    thank you so much!

  • @boudewijnchill .......

  • @boudewijnchill good to hear. . Well I am not god but glad to help you. . .

Well enjoy with your new eee pc!

  • I was wondering what you did after the screen came up, because anything i push makes it go back to the black screen..please help!!

  • @nicole77ist . . . When restart, the computer reboots again to the windows. In your situation, after unplugging the cable from the motherboard let it unconnected for couple of hours. It should erase the ram of your computer and that is needed to get out of the black screen. . . Hope this helps you further. . Good luck

  • Thanks man, fixed my 900HD. Rock on for such a simple fix!

After 8 months I tried it again and I am glad that I found this solution. I hope this solution helps other people with this strange problem..

    Cheers!

  • Hi Malik4033,

Can you be more specific what you mean? What did you pushed?

Please let me know so I can help you further.

    Thanks...

  • how do u disconnect it . i dnt understand the concept i pushed the things on the side

  • @malik4033 Hi, Malik sorry for the late reply.

If you have the laptop in front of you, you will see the plug below on the right where the cable is going.

At the end of the cable is the plug, there are two plastic ribbles, just pull the two ribbles (where the cable is plugged) towards you. It is little hard to get it out but finally it should go off..

    Hope this helps you...

    Good luck!
