MY ASUS P701 IS SWITCHING ON BUT I DONT SEE THE HARD DRIVE LITGHT ON AT ALL NOR DOS IT FLASH TO SHOW THAT IS WORKING I RESET AND DETACH THE CMOS BATTREY I DID EVERY THING AND STILL IT`S NOT BOOTING UP. PLS CAN YOU HELP ME
i have problem with my eee pc, i just format it with windows xp, and after that, it wont turn on, i just press it the power button many times, and i noticed, even i plug the charger on the laptop, the led light is not showing, please help, "sorry for the bad english"
i need help my eee PC doesn't boot its 1000h windows xp it doesn't even charge!
No lights are on nothing. i removed the battery and ac adapter for like 10 minutes and i put it back together and press the on button still nothing happens.
@chaoswings24 So far I read your message, seems that the battery/charger is not working anymore... try to charge the eee pc with a universal adapter..or try to loan a similar battery. Then you can locate the problem of this issue. Keep us posted about the results.. good luck
@pgm98387 Yes, I already saw this solution before on forums but this does not helped me. I even let the battery out for weeks... but thanks for your input, perhaps others Youtubers can use this fix... :D
FYI, anyone looking for this fix: some EeePCs have a pinhole on the bottom that looks like >o< that accomplishes the same thing. Try that before you void your warranty.
@MyNameIsBucket: thanks for the tip, however this pinhole you mention is the reset button. Normally this should clear the Cmos memory but I tried this in the beginning but not fixed the problem. Therefore I managed to fix this problem with this solution...Anyway, thanks for your input, perhaps this works for other youtubers with this same problem.
@improm2u: In my description states a link with a clear instructions how to get the casing off..please do it step by step and voila.. good luck and hopefully this help you...

@garfield346 : ever tried to connect a portable usb cd rom drive to your eee pc? If not...just borrow it from someone with an xp windows cd.. just plug the portable usb cd rom driver to your eee pc usb port and start your eee pc. Your eee pc should automatically find the portable cd rom with installation cd and start the os installation....Good luck
@garfield346 If he laptop doesnt even start up I am afraid the problem is something else, however please make a video of your problem and upload it to Youtube. Do not forget to describe the problem and Youtubers will help you! I am afraid I can not help you to solve this problem but I am sure that others can :D
@dpark76 thanks for the note. . My action was just the solution what worked to solve the problem. However better solutions are always better. . . Thanks and I hope your link helps other youtubers further. . .
@chrsdj - yeah I just noticed that as well. On a related note, I still haven't been able to figure out why I'm getting the black screen problem. I think it's hardware related.
@dpark76 You've tried both the method you linked to (which worked for me today) and the way this video demonstrates (which I've used before)? Most likely bad RAM then.
o my god your a freakin god! friends of mine gave me there broken eee pc and they said it was broken and that i could have it but i tried this and it just worked!
@nicole77ist . . . When restart, the computer reboots again to the windows. In your situation, after unplugging the cable from the motherboard let it unconnected for couple of hours. It should erase the ram of your computer and that is needed to get out of the black screen. . . Hope this helps you further. . Good luck
@mathexpert9981 Im glad to help you with this... it seems that this black screen is a common thing with this asus.. I tried al the things I found on the net but no results. After 8 months I tried it again and I am glad that I found this solution. I hope this solution helps other people with this strange problem..
If you have the laptop in front of you, you will see the plug below on the right where the cable is going.
At the end of the cable is the plug, there are two plastic ribbles, just pull the two ribbles (where the cable is plugged) towards you. It is little hard to get it out but finally it should go off..
Quick and great tutorial, worked for me, thanks. :-)

Here's a MUUUUUUUCH easier way to reset the CMOS.
replace commas with periods
forum,eeeuser,com/viewtopic,php?pid=716727
Taking everything apart is just way to much work compared to this approach.

@dpark76 nevermind. For some reason my cut&paste was adding a dash between the "ph" and the "p".
