YES sexism and homophobia are very much tied together... straight people dont realize that homophobia effects them too. When women fought for equal rights they were called lesbians, anyone forget that? straight people sometimes have lots of limitations based on gender role that isnt even natural, its very much cultural programming
gays will stop being oppressed as much once the idea of "gay pride" is gone forever. they need to stop being so overt about their sexuality and just not make a bog fucking deal about it.
@0neofthem People make a big deal about it because *others* make a big deal. This is not exclusive to gays. Most minority groups operate this way. Moreover, heterosexuals are also *overt* but because its commonplace in society they don't notice it: they talk about their boyfriends and girlfriends, wives and husbands, who they have crushes on, etc. but when gays do the same they're 'flaunting it'. That's a doublestandard.
I'm a teenage girl whose still trying to figure out who i am and what my views are and your videos help alot. i come from a small town that doesn't have alot of people to talk to about, really anything so your videos help me figure alot of things out, so thank you!
Wow, I've never heard of someone being a diversity trainer, this has to be a very fulfilling line of work! Shedding people's ignorance and teaching tolerance, you are truly a breath of fresh air. Funny, well spoken...you are perfect for this career :)
You are an amazing, strong and compassionate man. I deeply respect the work you are doing, in the open and welcoming manner in which you are doing it. May you persevere!
Kudos to you Brian. As a straight man who supports gay rights, I too have found myself in situations that were not a result of homophobia, they were simply awkward due to an inability to decipher views. I know that sometimes my gay and lesbian friends say that they feel as though straight people are patronizing them in an attempt to OVER accept them. I don't know... But I hope that you live a long life of happiness. Keep up the good work sir. God Bless us ALL.... -Rox-
Thank you, Rox. We are all in this together, each trying to understand the other's perspective. I'm grateful for your efforts to create a safe world for all of us.
I'm delighted. Thanks.

This is great Brian. I'm a HUGE supporter of the glbt community and belong to a gay/straight alliance. We must put an end to hurtful ignorance.

Tell me how homophobia is norble and moral. You've got my curiosity. It feels as if you're saying that racism and sexism are noble and moral.

I SOOOO want to watch this DVD.
The word homophobia, although you defined it... is not exactly defined like that here.. its actually noble and moral to be homophobic
