  • for guitar it is a shitty sounding amp yeah, however i got excellent tones playing a bass through it on the clean channel with a little of the built in chorus effect.

  • LOVE METALLICA AND AMP !! \m/

  • Metallica power !!!! Nice rly nice amp! Tell me are u useing foot controler for drive channels or u cuted the vid? If u are how much did u pay for it?

  • @Blackard91 I am a sucker for MetallicA!!! I did use the foot controller a lot but not for this video. Probably because I had a lot of goofing around that I wanted to cut out. I don't remember how much it cost but I think I sold it for approx $200

  • @firekid0669 ty for reply dude ! keep on pwnin' :D

  • I have this amp, and im honestly not too crazy over it. I'm more than happy with the clean channel but I'm more of a metal guy and need good distortion. I cant really get that from this. This is a good well rounded amp tho.

  • @montejano760 I agree that more distortion would be nice but you could add a pedal. For the price it is a great amp I thought. I sold it and now have a Line 6 Spider Valve MKII

  • METALLICA!

  • hey men can you tell me the measures of this amppp?? please

  • what are your amp settings?

  • @bryanslash Scroll back a little, they're here somewhere.

  • you used a footwsitch? if yeah whick one??? plz respond .thnx :P

  • Wow clean sound sounds frekin amazing

  • MG4 or MGDfx?

  • @cheetofacedon - MG50dfx

  • @firekid0669 i was thinking of buying one but i was wondering more in the 30w range. btw love the metallica, creeping death could use some work tho, ALSO is the distortion coming from a pedal or from the amp?

  • @cheetofacedon I could REALLY use more practice!!! The distortion is all amp, no pedal in the mix.

  • @firekid0669 wow, that is good distortion for an amp. I have a boss metal zone and that was pretty good. Does anyone know which is better; the MG50FX OR MG50DFX, i'm thinkin of gettin a 50watt marshall and can't decide which one 2 get, i have a delay pedal so don't really need it on the amp ??

  • @cheetofacedon get the 50 you'll be glad you did

  • @firekid0669 i was thinking of buying one but i was wondering more in the 30w range. btw love the metallica, could use some more practice tho, ALSO is the distortion coming from a pedal or from the amp?

  • does the clean channel sometimes get distorted if its up too loud? at what volume point does it get a bit drived?

  • MG50dfx or Mg50fx?

  • @dylancr32 Learn to read... gay

  • Settings! pleace!

  • @agent4778 Scroll back a page or two, I posted them I think.

  • i have the same for about 3 years and today it sounds like peace of shit. its can be used only for playing grunge music. overdrive channel sucks in any way.

  • @juodasai I disagree. Unless you have blown it out it should sound OK. I realize that this is a bargain amp and shouldn't be expected to put out exactly the same sound as a Mesa or Diezel. I think it is sufficent to gig with if mic'd and can really get a great tone if combined with pedals (which i didn't do for this vid)

  • Metallica ALLDAY!

  • Your playing is fine!! I was just curious, does it have the 12" speaker in it?

  • @slimmetalpickin I think it has a 10"

  • @firekid0669 hey whats the difference between a mg 50 fx and a mg 50 dfx? please answere

  • Used any pedal or put the guitar straight to amp?

  • @krissrattlehead666 Guitar straight into the amp, no effects.

  • is this amp the same size as the mg30dfx?

  • @FullmetalFan500 I think its a little bigger

  • very very versatile amp..... & great demo! =D ciao...

  • good amp

sorry, which distortion do you used men?

  • металликовец

  • the gain is in max?

  • @romeosensacion Gain is pretty close to max but the sound is geared more to a rhythm sound so you could get way more of a high gain sound if you wanted it.

  • men in the acustic part in fade to black

    what efect do you use???

    :D

  • @romeosensacion Maybe a little built-in chorus

  • I'm selling one of these amp's, PM for info :)

  • So this amp is good for Megadeth, and Metallica sound?

  • that battery was extremely slow lol sounded gd tho

  • @axegrinder89 "Extremely slow" Maybe not extremely but not quite album speed. There is a reason they are Kirk and James and I am making Youtube vids...

  • I have this amp. What setings for Rammstein? Plz help!!! :) Guitar Jackson JS1R SW

  • how can i set it up to distortion?

    P.S. I've just bought it

  • hahaha! every on is playing metallica!

  • @polishskaterdude32 I gotta stick with what I like and what I know!!!

  • I have the Roland Cube 20X but like the sound of the 50 i got when i was in the Gibson shop's sound room when i got the Cube

  • hey man on my marshall mg0 when i spin the distortion knob it does almost nothing tt all un less i go from 1-9...those that happen to yours or should i get my amp looked at?

  • What is the title of the first song you play?

  • Creeping Death

  • did you make the first riff up? if not whats the name of the song? its soo good

  • That would be the "Die" part of Creeping Death by Metallica. All of the riffs are Metalllica riffs because thats all I really know.

  • a 40 watt can cut through with a band practising eg. in a garage, but you need it on about 8. When you play live it will be miked up and put through a PA system anyway.

But, to be safe it might be better to go higher eg. 100watts

  • guyyyz i really wanna buy this amp but do you reccomend it on stage alone will it sound clearly........plz reply

  • Wish I could tell you. I don't gig. It is pretty loud though.

  • @firekid0669 - Duuude what are your amp settings? I must know.

  • Scroll back a few comments and I posted them.

  • I would reccoment the new MG4's. They don't have that nasty nasaly solid state overtone. Check out my vids. I have both a 15 watter that I actually jammed with a drummer with last night and I could be heard and I just got a half stack today. I had one of the older MG's and didn't like it. The new ones i LOOOOVE.

  • @sleeq1993 dont go for it its is note great amp for the prince . . . try another one

  • Hey man, I've played with the mg 50 dfx live on stage un mic'd and it was fine. I played to about 150 ppl aswell and it was clear around the whole room, and wasn't even on full volume :)

  • u must like metallica

  • How'd you guess??? The truely sad part is that MetallicA is all I know how to play!

  • Try this, im not very familiar with this amp but ive tried one at my school and got a pretty sick tone with this. Bass: Cranked, Mid: 12 or 1 o clock, Treb: 1 or 2 o clock. On OD, with the little black button pressed down. PS: I tried this on the head with cab version of this amp so it might not sound good.

  • does this amp go loud enough so i can hear it above the sound of a drum kit ?

  • I'm sure it can

  • @jagjaghuh and would it be good for small club gigs ?

  • Not on it's own, no..

  • @jagjaghuh im guesssing i would need a 100watt mg ?

  • Not really no.. But its always good to be prepered...

  • all metallica songs =] very nice

  • Probably a bit ambitious of me asking, but what settings did you have it on? I own an MG50DFX.

  • is this loud enough to drown out a drummer? if so what marshall is?

  • MR brownstone, buy a marshall mg 100dfx if this amp suits you, only differance is the100dfx = 100 watt (loader) i have. but if u want a realy good amp just buy a tube amp but there like 2,3 times more expensive for less watt's but they sound 10 times better

  • hey would this amp be loud enough for a band practise? because i would need a better amp,and thinking of buying this one.

  • I don't know if my amp has like special modifications or something but... This amp is loud enough to gig with, Easily. I take this thing everywhere when i play, and It's the nicest solid-state i have ever heard. It drowns out drummers even if it's played loud enough. Great sounding Amp. Price i payed for it was about 150$, since i bought it at a pawn shop (in perfect condition, might I add) and I am really glad i got it :)

  • is this one better then the marshall mg50fx

  • Die by my hand I creep across the land killing first born my favorite part of creeping death. Also good demo the chorus is pretty good.

  • 0:23 DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE!

  • HI dude ! i just bought this amp and i thinhk i have a problem with it , when i use the overdrive chanel theres a sound like " mmmmmmmmmmm"¿ is it normal with this amp? the clean chanel and the dfx sound great , the soise appears when i conect the overdrive chanel. I play with a telecaster ¿ would it be the problem? , one more, ¿ where should i conect my fx pedals? in the front or in the back? and how? i wish you could help me man!

  • The "problem," if i am assuming this is what it is, is not with the amp. It's the Pickups on the tele. Does the sound go away after you touch the strings? If so, it's just the pickups, because the pickups on a tele (at least the ones i have played) are magnetic and they create a weird background noise, but once you start playing it goes away. Also, are you referring to just a foot-switch, to switch between OD and Clean? if so, goes in the back. The BOSS-GT6 pedal i use goes in the front.

  • All pickups are magnetic. The reason the hum would go away after you touch the strings is that your body acts as a ground making the circiut quieter. However, this shouldn't be all that noticable so the "problem" could be a loose ground or a cold solder joint in the guitar. Or it could just be the 60-cycle hum normally produced by an amp switched to the overdrive channel.

  • is this amp better then the marshall avt50xt

  • Never played that one so I wouldn't know...sorry

  • i think it's better than the avt cause the MG (this one) gives a better feeling touch, it's sounds more classic in solos and stuff but you can get it from blues/jazz to the heaviest metal. I would much more have this amp than the avt. I have this MG and I have not regreed it sofar! sorry for bad english but you would eaily get a slash tone and with the right settings a AC/DC sound too

  • is this loud enough to gig with?

  • For a small/med size place I'm sure it would be OK

  • it's definately loud enough i currently own one myself, this video dosn't do it justice but you put gain past 12 o'clock and you barely have to turn the master volume up that much i just keep it at like 3 or 4 maybe but i usually don't have to mess with that it mostly depends on how much gain your using, i hope that helps you any...

  • I'm so confused. The amp I planned on getting wasn't MG50DFX, it was MG50FX

  • I know me 2.. but i Should get the FX instead of the DFX

  • so..spider1 or mg?i know tone is personal preference, and that every amp u get depends or ur needs.but what would YOU choose for the style(s) YOU play..?

  • It's almost 50/50. Maybe 51/49 for the Marshall. I guess Marshall loses in versatility but for the type of distortion you get it can't be beat. The Line6 cleans are a lot better! That and the distorion versatility is great too.

  • would u recomend this amp?

  • Sure, it's a great amp for the price!

  • someone is a metallica fan =]

    sounded great though

  • Yeah, I admit it, I am a little bit of a 'Tallica fan!

  • its all cool because tallica's the shit

  • i'm defenetly getting this for the clean sound and the size of the speaker...i have a rocktron metal planet pedal and it owns...i think it will sound awsome with this amp

  • no pedal sounds good thru solid state amps dude..;P

  • can you give me the settings for the clean sound? Sounds awesome

  • The amp has sold so I am going off old pics: (in o'clocks)Gain- 10, Bass-11, Mid-1, Treble- noon. Plus I had some chorus added in.

  • whats ur setting when u were playing one by metallica???? do u use pedal??

  • Check back a few posts, the settings are there. No pedal this was just the amp distortion in this vid.

  • whats the last song ??????

  • Fade to Black

  • I bought an amp just like this for 99 bucks :); it was on sale due to cosmetics defects.

  • but with the contour all the way up theres not much sustain on solos

  • True. I prefer a rhythm sound. I am not a greta guitar player so I avoid solos like they had the swine flu

  • how much did you sold it for

  • This amp has sold, I'll keep the vid up anyway

  • I also liked that sound, could you pass me the settings

  • I just sold it so I can't check to be exact but it was something like this:

    Gain: 9-10

    Bass: 8-9

    Contour: 9-10 (play with)

Treble: changes to fit sound, just play with it

I am also playing through a ESP LTD Truckster neck pick-up EMG 81

  • I mean the bridge pick-up

  • i've got one, but i can't find a reallly good metallica sound. :(
