make another Adj Layer for the Channel Mixer>check Monochrome

now go back and play with the sliders in Selective Colors.

you can also use a Contrast Layer under the Channel

now if you want to really play Shft+Ctrl+Alt type N then E

add a new Layer on top>Fill 50% gray>Dodge and Burn
