It works two ways...

It can dig yourself down... However.. Spinning the tires at a high speed ejects the mud out of the tread, cleaning the tire... this gives you new grip. No spin=drag slicks.

Either way, hes already stuck, why not? Its not a big enough stuck that digging down is gonna make it much worse..Not even that much travel on the suspension, and with those size tires you wont dig much before your high centered on the diffs.

I have a 1999 suburban with a 5.7 vortec, It gets the same mileage as my buddy's toyota that weighs 1500 lbs less. If you own a truck no matter what the brand it's not going to do well on gas, but 17 mpg in a 6500 lb. truck with 6 passengers and 40 sheets of plywood isn't bad. do that with your mini.
