Our cats have eaten every vegetable you can imagine on a regular basis for years and are just fine. Ever since we began feeding them indoor cat food, no particular brand, they crave veggies! They even choose them over any meat when offered.
I am a vet nurse and i am just letting people know that cats need CAT FOOD and although ur cats may not be affected by eating these veggies, certain types of veggies are POISONOUS!! '
At least get your facts straight. You should avoid onions, garlic, and related root vegetables due to N-propyl disulphide. You should avoid GREEN tomatoes and potatoes due to Glycoalkaloid Solanine (RIPE red tomatoes and RIPE potatoes are just fine). You should avoid chocolate due to theobromine. You should avoid grapes and raisins due to an ASPCA toxicity bulletin (they didn't specify). You should minimize milk due to lactose, but a little cream 2-3 times a week is fine, or try CatSip.
That is also true, however if you worked in a veterinary hospital like i do, you would encounter lots of idiots who do feed their loved cats stupid foods.
I work at my campus computer help desk and have to deal with people every day. I have to fight that very same feeling you have. We tend to start lumping people together as collective idiots, but this causes us to ignore the few who are capable. There must be a balance at some point. At the very least, let's make sure proper information is passed along to all who are willing to listen.
Okay, for the record I just want to say that she eats normal cat food also, meat too! I don't want people to think I'm encouraging this - she raids the fridge and grocery bags on her own!
She once ate a whole beefsteak tomato! I didn't realise one was missing until I found part of the core under the dining room table!
have you ever looked at the ingredients in cat food? some cat foods have vegetable products in them. my cat eats veggies and get this: Suicidal buffalo wings!
All supermarket cat foods have vegetables in them. It's called CORN. It a filler and it cheap and plentiful just like meat by products. That why my cat east Wellness. I has veggies(Sweet Potatoes, Carrots, Squash, Cranberries, Blueberries and Zucchini ) in it too but not corn and other grains.
My cat has a strange diet.Catfood,But 2 other things that go wrong,Guacamole and Chips!?!?!Yea,When Me and My Dad watch Tv And Eat Tortilla chips my cat loves nothing more than a snack of Chips dipped in Guacamole. :P Seriously,Its not bad for her,And She Doesn't just lick the chips,She CHEWS Them,So She auctally eats them

True. However, not everyone is an idiot who can't handle doing proper research and sharing variety with their loved one in a healthy and safe way.

My cat likes his green beans, broccoli (not doesn't like the top though), cauliflower, cat nip (fresh and dried), & grass.
It good for him, has lots of fiber and good for getting rid of hairballs.

Cats were meant to eat only meat, but CAN eat veggies as a healthy diet, as long as they are rich in taurine.
Lack of taurine causes cats to go blind.
