The mishap of Katrina resurrected PTSD symthoms, that I functionally deal every day. My home of 32 years had irreplacable memories of my children growing up going off to college, returning w/ more momentos. I had a near psychotic break when I found pictures of my rooms b4 katrina. I wondered what was in that jewelry box, the kitchen 'catch it' drawers. I saw my bdrm, stereo, books, family friends enjoying. I did not lose expensive things because I was not extravagant. I lost pieces of myself.

this is one video whic is the closest to being 100% on the nose than numerous others.the lower 9th ward predominately poor black,st bernard predominately poor whites mostly sea food workers,lakeview mostly upperclass whites,most of the older small wood frame homes start at $200,000,mid city made up of a mixture of all classes and small business.each of these areas rec.5-10 ft of water.the small wood frames fared worse,some were already in a state of disrepair.local levee agency at fault.

i am from brazil and i am black. we see katrina's every day in the streets of my country. the only problem is it does not make the news. but everywhere in the world where there is a major population of black people katrina's destroy lives and homes. we have to use our faith to rebuild ourselves every damned day.

i am not from new orleans nor from the united states. but it is easy to see who is right and who is wrong in this discussion.

the person from new zealand is probably white and gets their feeding thru "american" tv int'l broadcaster. whereas the person from new orleans has no color because their color, faith, creed and everything else that matters were lost when the katrina hit the city.

The "fact" is at the end of the video. Made in April 2006 - hence "old news" . I live in New Zealand, but I visited New Orleans before Katrina . It has been troubled for decades - Katrina forced it to confront those problems . I have local contacts.

How the hell do you know what new orleans is like you live in New Zealand!!! I live in New Orleans and it is not "on the mend" there are thousands of people that still have not gotton help and are working their asses off to fix their homes their selves...

I said the City was "on the mend"; not that it had fully recovered. Yes, thousands are still scarred mentally & financially & the lower 9th may be still a disaster. Some of your other videos show a City recovering hope & will eventually be more than it lost.

seeing the city everyday... the city will be under water before the city is more than it lost... for several reason beyond control.
