  • Journey by Michael Montes. The version in the ad is slightly different from the original.

  • what is the name of this song

  • Thanks for this. I never knew how to play piano and i've been kicking myself for never learning how, but this song inspired me, and i was able to learn through this tutorial, this is my first song but it is the first of many. Keep up the good work :)

  • I don't play often but your teaching method is actually how I first learned to play piano and sheet music just doesn't stick in my brain, so your tutorial is exactly what I have been looking for. Thank you for spreading your creative wealth.

  • wanna see an awesome cover of this song look at g5bucket's cover

  • @homerboy488 ROFL

  • @homerboy488 dude, slow the fuck down, I'm pretty sure he's better than you are. So don't rip on someone who wants to teach you something. Still think you're better than him?

  • @homerboy488

Hah, wow. Go get laid asshole. Maybe it didn't cross your shitsack of a mind that this guy may not be able to afford a better piano. This video is a tutorial, and a pretty legit one, not an attention gimmick. If anyone is vying for attention it's you.

  • @homerboy488 I think someone failed to learn it...

  • Good music, you probably need a better microphone.

  • Great job. Ignore what AbysedPodre614 said, he(she) really needs to take a look at who the idiot is.

  • yeah, after a little bit of back and forth, we realized that he was listening to the original "journey" while i was playing the version found in the canon commercial (as stated in the video title). Come to think of it, after I said that he shut up.

  • Check the new version.

  • @AbysedPodre614 get the sand out of your vagina fucking douche

  • gtreat job

  • thanks a ton, was helpful, sweet hitchhikers thumb

  • good job

  • What about the part where the left hand is playing fast with the right hand...or am i just retarted?

  • yeah, what did happen to that?

  • LOL for does who think its too fast and two hard just keep practicing i learned from this vid i used to suck but now i mastererd this song in like a month

  • I do play it a little bit too fast, but thanks.

  • I have actually learned most of this song from you in one night only having had played the piano one time prior to this, unfortunately I can't seem to pick up the one part that you missed and that is holding me back from near success with this song. Basically I was hoping you could make a video on how to do that one part you missed. I appreciate you making this video and doing a very good job of making it simple to comprehend for someone who has never played the piano.

  • ur alil too fast for the song ui need to go a lil slower. not because i need u to but i know the song is slower than that!

  • bro, just listen to it, and u will know

  • i learned the begining but from 0:28 to 0:46 you raelly didnt cover but other than that best tutorial for this song you will find

  • this was really helpful until you skipped a big part. thanks though.

  • lol i dont know why i get a kick out of this but at i think 3:23 everythings slow then u play the fast part and go directly to the next part its funny... nice video by the way lol

  • cool man 5 stars

  • best tutorial! thanks so much!!

  • thanks sooo much! this is the only good tutorial i could find! now i can play this song easily, thank you sooo sooo much! :D

  • can u send me da notes in order?

  • nope, sorry. I have no sheet music for this

  • Wow dude, thank you so much for this helpful video. Thanks very much!

    Peace!

  • thank you sooooo much for this vid:] i memorized it and played it in front of one of mi frans and she was like "whoa:]"

  • your tutorial is better than everyone elses. if you know how to play the fringe theme song you should make a tutorial of that too.

    great vid tho, man!

  • there is a good one by No1hotdogguy,

its a little confusing but he has a good version

  • next time when you make a tutorial.. can you split the right and left hand in two vids?

  • Maybe. How about just doing all the right hand then all the left hand in the same video?

  • it doesn't really matter what you do.. thx for the tutorial. It wasn't confusing for me

  • Comment removed

  • If this tutorial isn't quite what you are looking for, mine is broken up into more parts for you guys

    Sincerely, Bradevns

  • Yeah, I learned it from this guy

  • i learned it from this guy too

  • i have made tabs and uploaded them

    rapidshare(dot)com/files/237275309/Journey(dot)rar

  • Great tutorial, good job

  • great stuff man

  • well i dont use any sheet music for piano yet but ill keep that in mind,

  • what a coincidence, I too learned the sax first (alto) and am now teaching myself the piano. This was pretty helpful and not bad for a first tutorial,my only suggestion would be to not bother showing how to play both hands using only one hand, i found this to be a bit confusing but just skipped to both hands and got it pretty quick. but that is just my opinion.

  • Whatever you do, do not learn the piano with sax music. I still have to mentally convert everything before i play. Learn piano completely separate from the sax.

  • around the 6 minute mark, where the right hand plays A-E-C-E the second time (the harder part). I can't really tell what the left hand is supposed to be playing at that time because you say the left hand plays chords, but when you play it through it doesn't look like it at all. It even looks as if both hands share the C key.

  • Yeah, that bit is tricky. The left hand for the fast part is the same as the right hand for the end. I mumble so I can see if you didn't hear that. And yes, both hands share a key (first d, then c). If I remember correctly, I did it in this order: intro right, intro left, fast part and hard part right, fast part left, hard part left and ending right, ending left. I did it that way so I didn't have to repeat myself.

  • i feel like you left out an important part towards the end. Good other than that.

  • What do you mean? I am trying to learn how to do this better, so if you can be more specific it'll be helpful.

  • i understood it just fine !! i have been playing the piano for many years. Im 13 !!

  • Thanks, and good for you, I think I started at 13 lol.

  • Yeah, I'm not great at the sheet music either. I learned saxophone first, then taught myself piano. So I learned Bb as G C as A and so on. I can play both ways now, so it makes it easier to transpose.

  • So, you understood that? I didn't think anyone would.

  • the last 3 or 4 mins gets very confusing.
