the second thing is that you canchoose just one output channel (A or B) . This means that if you playing A channel (with Ableton together on the same channel) and than fade to chanel B with your set the ableton sounds mutes as A mutes. So you can't make transitions from A to B with Ableton Sound as a glue'ish soundbackground....
My only knock on the Bridge is that most people wont use it the way it's designed to be used. The average DJ just plays tracks at the club. this can but does not really cater to those DJ's.. so I dont really understand what everyone is so excited about.. Are there a lot of people out there that will be doing live remix sets at the club now because of this program?
i'm not trying to hate or be negative...just very curious
He uses the Rane Sixty Eight which is a digital Mixer. It costs about 4000 $ / 2700 €.
There are cheaper solutions for using the bridge if you use just 2 control Vinyls
They probably use the sixty eight because it is from Rane.
if you planning to do a live act with a lot of controller and effects and you got the money to spare, it's probably a good solution, though I would prefer a mixer with analog filters such as the Xone:62...
seems like a lot to get your head around...i can see it helping with some inspired ideas...but it makes me want to go back to practicing the piano/synths and just make music..
Why the heck did they team up with Serato and not Native Instruments?? Big mistake. What does Serato make? Tools and hardware for DJs. Native instruments makes midi controllers, VSTs , dj software and hardware FOR MUSICIANS. This sucks.
Ahh ! We need some touch screens and more buttons! Im starting to get carpal tunnel with my mouse. By the way, can I use my NovationSL with that synchro? Also, do Novation have some of those Abelton files to download for us to mix or we have to make our own in Abeleton Live? I know it would be cool to know where to get them though. email me agoodhouse@gmail.com Thanks for all your advancements!!!!!!!!!

Good stuff...awesome ideal..but after my experiencing with the bridge & i realizing that the serato won't recording from ableton transport control with & from apc-40 with live from perform your beats..but with mixtapes it's awesome with recording i love it after i opening with live..maybe i'm not there yet..pls someone answering me that question..maybe i will find my solutiom myself..thank you
Hello I would like to know if we could use the apc40 as a mixer. Because I am thinking of being DJ decks(analog) and use serato as djing program. I currently own a akai apc40 and it would save me alot of buck if I could use the apc40 as a mixer.
This is just a tool... in the end doing good music is all that matters... and i guess we had good music before. Invest less in equipment and more in creativity.
@bizzyfingers, it would enable you to run Ableton Live clips in sync to whatever songs you played in SSL. So rather than run Ableton Live at its own tempo, and following that with your deck(s), it's the other way around. SSL is the 'master' and Ableton Live follows the beat grid of SSL.
It's not much use for scratching though, as Ableton Live will stop whenever you rewind/pull back the deck.
@Perzokat Serato and Ableton have released this product to COMPETE AGAINST Native Instruments. It would defeat the purpose if the made it work with Traktor.
would this work with an sl3 where you still have 2 serato tracks and 1 ableton track?

The damn think is that you can't rewind as this is not supported by ableton. so scratching and stuff like that is not possible.

@GinSoul1 dumb ass look at refine your mix tapes with the bridge and join the ableton cult!

More great possibilities of using Live, live. This reminds me of how innovative ReWire seemed when it first came out.

Just learn Ableton Live and you will not need all this material world integration.
Just put it in your backpack and go like it was designed for...........
Good tutorial though!!
