I've had high-speed internet access through Comcast for over 7 years. When service started to slip, I called and they came out to check the problem. Apparently, one of the cables coming in from the outside is old and needs replacing. So far six different technicians have come out, trying to drill holes, run cable through the attic. No luck. It's been over a month now.
Unfortunately, here in Alexandria, VA, its the ONLY OPTION for high-speed internet.

We just signed up with the phone service today and they replaced our old modem with a new one that would "handle the faster connection" that they've been advertising. The internet crapped out TODAY with our RCA brand modem. And along with that the phone obviously. So we're canceling it. They told us that we couldn't get a different brand of modem which is fucking ridiculous. What a freaking headache.

Comcast suspended my service for non-payment. But my payment was sent and my bank verified it. Comcast says they will look into it within 5 business days. They lose my payment and I have to wait. So, I have an appointment with Verizon to get a new phone and DSL installed and DirectTV for my TV. Screw comcast. They SUCK ASS!

I remember about a year ago they were having a lot of big problems, so they came out with some commercials with the CEO apologizing, blatantly stating that they screwed up big time, and promising customers that he and his company were going to do everything in their power to keep us happy in the future. Try getting that kind of honesty and concern from comcast!

to the extent that i'm a gamer, comcast sucks. i cannot keep a constant connection for more than an hour except for rare occasions. i live in a sportsy neighborhood, and every time a game is on, my bandwidth drops noticably. clicking through static webpages is fine, but if it's a stream over ten megs or any sort of gaming connection, i can see the packets get lost.

Comcast pissed us off this past week too. Only about 40% of our channels were even watchable for the past two weeks, and on Friday our cable modem signal went dead. To top it off, one of their service guys knocked our awning off our house with the truck on Monday!! If there was another provider in the area, I'd have switched.
I am a new Comcast customer. I haven't even had their services (TV and internet) for 2 weeks and I'm already having problems. My internet keeps cutting out on me. When the serviceman came to install everything it took him over 30 minutes to get connected to the right person just to get a simple IP address. He told me that Comcast doesn't like to work. I have a scheduled appointment coming up so I guess I'll get to see if the serviceman actually shows up (fingers crossed).
Yeah, I was forced to switch when they bought out Time Warner's service in Minnesota. They raised rates and introduced all sorts of fees that weren't there before. Can't wait to have another option other than Qwest. Comcast should discount people's bills when they make you wait for hours on phone or at home with their service people.
May I suggest you look into US Familynet? I'm in Minnesota and looking for new service, too. I haven't heard much about their service but they ARE about half the cost.

I used to have their Intershit and they would regulatly throttle me to below 56k speed -- WHEN WE WERE BARELY USING IT. As soon as I whipped out YouTube or BitTorrent, I would be cut off entirely. Then I wised up and switched to AT&T DSL. And now my sheep-for-brains mother wants to look back because she refuses to admit viruses are slowing here computer down and is blaming it on Ma Bell. *eyeroll*

@stvsafiria, I have AT&T where I'm at and they've been consistent and reliable. After getting service from someone who knows how to do their job, I'd never want to go back to Comcast. With their lousy track record, I'm amazed there aren't more Mona Shaws out there. LOL

At this very moment I am experiencing connectivity problems thanks to Comcast. . My Verizon phone service is always functional.My DIRECTV satellite doesn't go out(unless it rains, but that's not their fault.) So why should my internet fail at least ONCE A MONTH? FUCK COMCAST. JUST FUCK 'EM.

my digital cable service is off right now.i have an appointment tommorow with a rep to come and change out my box.i have no idea if he's going to show up.i've already had two appointment no shows for other problems i've had with comcast.since i started getting service from them a month ago i must have called them 10-15 times.I'm so close to kicking them out of my house.

Comcast recently bought out Insight in my area. With Insight, I had High Speed 10MB Internet Service, and never had a problem.
Now that Comcast has taken over, they are throttling my bandwidth, even though they claim to offer a 12KB service, what they actually do is boost your connection to 12KB for a few seconds and then throttle it back down to about 6KB.
They also limit streaming audio/video, forcing you to restart it several times.

I used to have Insight BB too. I remember about a year ago they were having a lot of big problems, so they came out with some commercials with the CEO apologizing, blatantly stating that they screwed up big time, and promising customers that he and his company were going to do everything in their power to keep us happy in the future. Try getting that kind of honesty and concern from comcast!

I have had all three. About seven years ago, I switched to @Home service. It was excellent with no problems what so ever. Then Insight bought @home. Insight was Ok for the most part, though I did have connection problems at times. And NOW when Comcast bought Insight, I have zero connection at this time. "Thanks Comcast for Everything."

to the extent that i'm a gamer, comcast sucks. i cannot keep a constant connection for more than an hour except for rare occasions. i live in a sportsy neighborhood, and every time a game is on, my bandwidth drops noticably. clicking through static webpages is fine, but if it's a stream over ten megs or any sort of gaming connection, i can see the packets get lost.
and i pay $60/mo
what good is a wide pipe that's arbitrarily closed half the time?

COMCAST BITE ME! I was in my new house for 3 months with 4 total outages, the last one on December 23 then I called in a cancelled. Next day I called Embarq and got the full package, I love the service. Hell even Charter is better then Comcast.

I worked for cable for 15 years. comcast bought out our company and dumped 3 times the work load on us. We asked for help and we (about 20 employees) got fired. going thru a lawsuit now. gonna sue their monkeyasses!

Once you enter into a contract with them they just rob you(as in don't deliver what they promised, which IS stealing), give you REALLY crappy service and don't give a damn generally. Its one company i would love to see go to the wall.

Comcast pissed us off this past week too. Only about 40% of our channels were even watchable for the past two weeks, and on Friday our cable modem signal went dead. To top it off, one of their service guys knocked our awning off our house with the truck on Monday!! If there was another provider in the area, I'd have switched.

I am a new Comcast customer. I haven't even had their services (TV and internet) for 2 weeks and I'm already having problems. My internet keeps cutting out on me. When the serviceman came to install everything it took him over 30 minutes to get connected to the right person just to get a simple IP address. He told me that Comcast doesn't like to work. I have a scheduled appointment coming up so I guess I'll get to see if the serviceman actually shows up (fingers crossed).

Yeah, I was forced to switch when they bought out Time Warner's service in Minnesota. They raised rates and introduced all sorts of fees that weren't there before. Can't wait to have another option other than Qwest. Comcast should discount people's bills when they make you wait for hours on phone or at home with their service people.
