comparing where he landed here on this foul, to the 8.73m he jumped in the first round, this is maybe 10cm further - but he fouled by about 10-15cm. So if he hit the board perfectly on this foul, I'd say it was around 8.70m, no more than 8.75m.
it looks like his hand touched behind the 9 metre line. otherwise it would prolly have been over. EPIC LEAP ftw. he looked like he was trying to run up to heaven.
This looks like one of the Holy Grail jumps over 9m. Saladino is still four feet up as he passes the 7m line. The apparent rearward impact mark, which is left by his feet, is notably to the right of the photog's knee. Agreed, we can't see his takeoff spot clearly so we don't know the +, and we don't know that the camera is positioned orthogonally to the 9 meter line, so this is circumstantial at best. But compare the impact location with his legal 8.73. I think he was in the magic 9m frame.
can some1 help me pls? i need to know what must be the initial velocity for one 9m long jump (i'm with some fisics project and i dont know what to do T.T) please if someone can help me PM me
