being an extra is not being an actor, unfortunately. You dont need to audition for to be an extra in a movie....it s all about how you look and if you fit into the movie....
I dont see your ass on IMDB....for your information alot of the a list actors out there started off as crew or extras....and alot get upgraded on set. Alot of non union sets give regular extras feature scenes and speaking roles on the spot....U my friend have no fuckin clue what u are talking about. most of the best, natural , highest paid actors have never even had an acting class other than learning how to do a slate. So shove your actors guild card up your ass, where it belongs
I want to be an actor so badly that it's crazy. But I need to have exps., that's why I now (really, few months back) I want to be an extra to get what I need.
first of all they help u find work first. Audition first then pay, not before hand. But if its only 18 bucks that's cool, if its over $20+ or over i would say it is a scam, i know cuz i was in one. My current extra casting company had a registration form and i gave them a 20 dollar check and i became an extra for their casting clients. The extra casting company find me feature film and commercial work and i dont pay them no more then that 20 dollar check. If you pay them monthly dont do it.
The key in figuring out what is a scam is money. A legit agent will NEVER ask for money. They get a portion of what you make on a job. That is how they make their money.
Another big scam is when you get an agent and then push acting classes or head shots on you. Agents have places that they can reference if you need them, but if they really push you into it then they probably just have you in the agency so you can buy their classes/head shots and they aren't trying to find you work.
if an agent ask for money at first. they are a SCAM, no agent should ask for money, they only get 10% of what u get for a role that they get u. if they didn't get u any parts then u dont pay them at all.
it all depends on the auditions they get u and how much they pay u.
no dont pay!! you dont ever pay ur agents, they get 10-15% of your PAYCHECK when you get a job. you should never pay them up front. so like ur agent lets say calls u and says theres an audition for so and so u go do the audition and if you get the part and ur check from that job you did, some of the money goes towards them
Can you tell us how we can differentiate between fake and real agencies? I mean there are a lot of news these days about agencies being fake and running off with the money. Is there a trick to the way they talk to you? Or should I research the angency online?

you don't reallyy need an agent for extra roles..
gatitoroulette15 1 year ago 2
So you mean. When your agent call you for an audition and you won't get the job. Your agent gets nothing - no money?
And when you get the role, you'll get 85-90% from the payment and your agent gets 10-15%?
How much do you get for a extra role - like for 2012 or The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus?
