  • Worst movie i have ever seen... It made me nauseous, horrible story..

  • A few clues in the movie when the man hands over the document in the hospital it has a slush puppie factory label, at the end when the woman says is anyone out there play backwards it says it's still Alive and at the beach you look at top right corner it's some sort of satelite also on the train if you play in slo mo and pause at right time you see snapshots of Godzilla and king kong

  • I hated this movie because everyone dies at the end.

  • @TheMedievalLizard the ending is one of the strongest points to the film. They wrote the ending that way because they put the monster in and then tried to make it as realistic as possible (hence why all but lilly dont survive) because the chances of you making it out in a situation like that would be next to none.

  • This is my all time favorite movie! I was going out of the theatre cheering and jumping.

  • I'm glad that you do reviews. I review movies by not falling asleep. If I doze off, then it sucks! Has anyone ever told you that you look like Dante from Clerks? :)

  • I quite liked it. I think it had a realistic ending, i mean it was not a hollywood ending, and I liked the camera work :)

  • shit!!! TWINSSS!!!! Thats hot!!! I love twins...

  • We aren't even related. sorry(?)

  • hahahaha.... that's bad! :-) you guys look very much alike....maybe you wanna ask your mom :-P

  • download-movies-database(dot)blogspot(dot)com for Free Direct Download Movies. No Survey

  • its not blair witch with a monster - its cloverfield with a monster!

  • i liked it but it was different so some people hate it with out understanding it >.>

  • I agree some people hate on the movie, but when I ask why they never have a reason.

  • Hate Cloverfield

    Like Star Trek(2009) though.

  • This is my favorite movie of all time.

  • i really liked it, alot of cool stuff, it has a touch of evryting, a touch of horror, humor, action, romance, sci-fi, and ....ummm well yea. i really loved this movie to bits.

  • yeah i loved it sooo much!

  • And when i said realism i meant realistic reactions to a disaster not the monster, for all those people who would have called me an idiot for thinking a monster movie like this could actually happen, because it most likely can't. On a more relevant note there actually was a message in this story which is another reason why people who are to shallow to understand the deeper meaning disliked the movie. You just have to go beyond the surface of the movie and think about the metaphor it portrays.

  • The people who disliked this movie were people who were expecting a movie where everyone is running and shrieking in horror and it shows the monster destroy everything. Those type of people were expecting an action movie, but that wasn't the point of the movie. The point was to show what really would have happened. It wouldn't have been like Godzilla where everyone gets out of the city in an orderly evacuation. This shows how it really would happen. It's a story of realism not action.

  • cloverfield pwns the hardest

  • It should have turned out to be Godzilla. That would have rocked people.

"What the fuck? It's Godzilla? How ironic is that? Guy going to Japan, the home of giant monsters, but gets attacked by a monster in new york."

  • i know what you mean i actually had in mind during the movie : please godzilla come godzilla come!

  • I saw the movie without knowing anything about it.

I was surprised about the movie, I thought is was fun.

  • The movie sucked even the monster did it was just an overated crappy monster you see the monster 3 times wow :(

  • you and tu mama suck you are clearly a crappy little punk

  • yes he is

  • bcuz its not about the monster, you know how cheezy it would be if they just showed the monster strait out over and over again. its not an average monster movie, it would fall under that catagory it rreally is just a disaster, survival horrer, thriller!

  • oh hell no if that happen that going be big lawsuit

  • To make a long story short, cloverfield sucked.

  • you see it land in the water at the end when it shows the couple, at the right of the screen, falling object and splash

  • Slusho

  • im posting this along time a after the dvd release

if i had of seen this movie in the cinema i would of been asking for my money back

infact the bits i was more into was the wee bits after they stop the cam and u see two lovers in there last day together in usa be4 he had to go home to the japan

  • i really dont no why i put a hater comment, i really like your stuff blunty lol i guess i was in a pissy mood :O

  • I'm drinking Sapporo right now. My friends say it sucks, but I kinda like it. It's better than Miller Lite, and I can proudly say that because Miller Lite sucks.

  • This movie rox. I saw it twice in as many weeks, and I am definately gettin' the DVD

  • i think their making a second movie which will explain everything.

  • no waste of money

  • it was ok i guess it was diffrent, they couldent have done it with normal camras cause it would av been godzilla.i also hear there makeing a sequel filmed during the same attack is this true??

  • I had a hard time watching Cloverfield from the beginning. Waste of time and money.Sucking movie.

  • it was cool

  • true that

  • im english bt i wtchd it online ur rite-shite

  • Tell me why it sucked.

  • yeah, i totally agree, i saw it 11 times nd it was amazing, yeah, it was more like what would i do if i had to my girlfriend out of a building during a Monster attack kind of movie, it didnt put it in ne other persons point of view, cept the guy with the camera which is why i loved it, i do wish they showed more of the Monster tearing up the city nd getting shot up by all the Military, that was the highlights which i craved, but kept me in the dark, but i guess thats why i like it even more

  • 11 times...?

  • I want to see it 11 times.

  • I've seen it nine times......nine.....times.

  • idk if i want to see it...

  • That novie was terrible.

  • cloverfiled suck

  • Terrible movie.

  • no it was not

  • Yes, yes it was awful.

  • it wasnt

  • The only reason it was terrible to you was because you was blowing chunks from the motion. It isn't the movies fault that your have a weaken resistance to quick motions.

I loved it I can't wait for the DVD.

  • cloverfield was awesome!

  • it was a great movie dude

  • Now something of the subject. The guy on the left is wearing a danger mouse shirt. Haven't danger mouse around for years.

  • this movie was MEANT to disturb people

  • i saw the movie and i was really really scare!!!:S

  • I really enjoyed this movie, even though it made me wish I brought a bucket [and I was sitting in the back row] The fact that it was so serious, and filmed like a documentary, yet still left room for humour was great.

I also liked how they so conveniently named the guy with the camera "Hud."

  • Good first review. I'm definitely one of the people who loved this. And yeah, other than the shaky camera, can't really compare it to Blair Witch.

  • "until the full review!!!" how can a review take more than 1 video!? Although come to think of it, mine looks like being a 5 parter! ;)

  • I thought it was very disappointing. I didnt know it was all going to be from a stupid random camcorder... Plus, it was basically Blair Witch only with something to actually scream and cuss at... ;_; Biggest waste of my life...

  • So, did you actually WATCH a trailer for this movie? Because, they kind of set you up for the camcorder thing right there.

  • I saw the trailer, but it only shows the very beginning parts which I thought may have just been a part of the movie where maybe some people find a camcorder lying around like in Jurassic Park III or something...

  • Well, sorry you didn't like it. Personally, I don't think it was anything like Blair Witch (other than the obvious).

  • Your fault you didn't know what you were going to watch.

And theres no similarity with the Blair Witch except the obvious

  • Sapporo is good! haha

  • stoopid geeks.

  • Haven't seen it yet but the trailer reminded me of some sort of take on Godzilla rampaging through Tokyo. Maybe they should have mistracked the dialogue a bit to get the real feel of those Japanese Godzilla films dubbed over in English. LOL

  • Wonder if this is a "new" trend/novelty in movie making, with George Romero's Diary of the Dead coming out Feb. 08? Somewhat like Blair Witch but not like Blair Witch. The camcorder genre.

  • guys the MOVIE was really creative and had great shots..but the only thing that made you say it(sucked)was because the ending was retarted.. the only thing they had to was fix the ending and it would be a great movie!

  • Can you be more specific about the ending?

  • they all died...and didnt see if the monster died or not!

  • in the end of the endcredits a transmission plays that is "it's still alive" backwords.

  • yeah i know ummm yeah but that wasnt rob

  • Ok. Just watched this(first review) and 1st-thing I want to know is - Where did your mate get his "Danger Mouse" T-shirt? 2nd- Umm...cant think of anything else at the moment. Let me get back to you on that.

  • The monster came from outer space. You see it at the end of the movie crashing into the ocean.

  • Actually, it has been confirmed by the creators that what you see at the end is actually a Japanese (I think) satellite crashing into the ocean. Not the monster. The monster came from the ocean, not space. In fact, it's just a baby.

  • Well, after seeing it last night I can safely say that I hate. Cloverfield is one of the most uninspiring movies I've ever seen. Interesting concept but poorly done.

It's a giant monster movie, general you don't care about the ants that it's stepping on. Cloverfield failed to do that crucial thing, make me care about the characters. I couldn't get in to their shoes either. Most situations were idiotic at best...making the atmosphere suck. JJ Abrams comes off as nothing more then a hack.

  • its just a piece of shit and not a survivor story they all die its just stupid its the worst movie i have ever seen

  • wow your CLEARLY not a one use account made by some retard who wants attention

  • That's because the main protagonist of this story isn't Rob, Beth, Hud, or Lily.. it's the camera! It survives to tell their story. This is similar to what Hitchcock did with the bag of money in Psycho. Nice change

  • you stupid prawn.

  • wat sux for me is i dloaded the cam version of it and so i saw double handycam recordings on my screen

    :(

  • Were Here in a Hotel After Many Beers... and Anal Sex

  • i had a feeling this movie would be filmed like a home movie...so i will never see it

  • so what happens if its the best movie EVER made? you wont see it?

  • Actually you do get a reason for the monster waking up. Watch the last scene of the film on the ferris wheel. Keep your eyes on the background towards the right of the water. The sites and Abrams himself confirms what it is that hits the water and awakens the creature.

  • i didnt see squat behind the ferris wheel

  • Why so serious? And yellow?

  • I hated this movie.

  • Well you're stupid.

  • Eh? What? How does a matter of taste define intelligence? YOU'RE Stupid. heh, yeah..... burn......

  • oooohhhhhh! pwned him!

  • i did to

  • I really have to agree with what you said about seeing just so you know what you're talking about with others who have seen it. I too left this movie uncertain what to think. It did have to sink in. And did you notice the audio at the VERY end of the credits?

  • Yep! It was Rob's voice saying "Help Us". But if you play it backwards, it says "It's still alive". A video of the sound clip is on YouTube.

  • I don't buy this "when you play it backwards" theory. I believe the audio was just something like "It's still alive" or "help us".

  • Question... Did anybody confirm it was Rob's voice. That'll be cool if it was cause that means he's still alive. I think

  • Well, it sounded like it to me. But I'm not really sure.

  • the voice was meant to be robs but the director did the voice though

  • i thought it looked like a dolphin with legs and to hands

  • Oh man, you guys can't call the ending "dumb." This movie strikes your senses in all directions except for "smell."...not only the physical senses, but your philosophical point of view. During the last 15 minutes, you basically put yourself on that situation and say to yourself, "oh man so that's how it'll feel".

  • Okay, That's it, Im not watching this crap film.

  • dont let these guys steer you away. it was an amazing movie well worth watching.

  • tha movie was shit the worst eva movie nd the director his cork cn stink

  • your a douchebag

this movie was brilliant the concept of four ordinary people dealing with the extraordinary rather than some military trained experts like monster movies usually have

  • They didn't exactly deal with it.

  • Blair Witch Project was better than cloverfield.

Plot sucked, characters were annoying(IMO, acting was overdone).

  • what was wrong with it? we had people trying to escape from being killed or eaten by a giant monster. What more do you want?

  • Loved your review i saw it yesterday it was one of the most amazing films

  • Dude this movie is not good at all. watching it gave me a headacke from all the fucking running and the fact that you can barly see shit the whole time. It basicaly tells you nothing about the monster or even if it dies at the end. It muct have the most random and shity ending ever invented. I would rather have watched puff the magic dragon over cloverfeild. It was total shit

  • i definitely am crossing my fingers for a sequel. the handycam view of the film was amazing, made me think I was actually there with them.

  • i just went and saw it. It was great, but the end was a let down. the end was horrible.

  • ASo ur not tired of happy endins? I'm definetly. Great movie!

  • Any movie where everyone dies is shit. Any movie that is just another excuse for a bunch of random people to die in variously gory ways is shit. Any movie that leaves massive loose ends without a sequel or sum up is shit. Any movie where everyone does nothing except scream and run around is shit. I think I've made my point on this movie.

  • Yeh, you find it shit

  • Yes, I do.

  • hello hamlet!

  • this movie was based in real life and in real life you hardly ever get a "happy ending"

  • Are they twins?

  • Yes.

  • i agree. if this is the best movie of 2008; then movie goers are in trouble. most people i have talked to seemed to have hated it. i did not hate the movie, but i did not enjoy it a whole lot. i feel the way these two guys feel about the movie. it is hard to review. it is hard to review a movie when the movie is not about the monster. i truly believe there will be a sequel though; only because there are things that the main characters say through out the movie that lead you to believe that.

  • i saw the movie and thought it was amazing but there was one point that really just got me because i never was able to figure it out,

the girl elana after she was brought into the room by the biohazard people, what happened to her why did blood splat on the screen i couldnt see.

  • Marlena. People were saying that she exploded then I said how do they know b/c they didn't actually showed her exploding your right you couln't see all they showed was blood splattered.

  • she went boom. The parasite thingies' poison, my guess, causes rapid cell growth.

  • But how do you know "she went boom"?

  • This movie was OK. It's the best film so far of 2008 but thats not saying much. Expect more film studios to create their own monster to follow in the footsteps of this successful movie. If godzilla genre film like this can obtain a 76% rating at rottentomatoes, you know its worth seeing.

  • You two make a lovely couple.........i wish you both the very best together.

  • I think the monster is a 200 ft tall drunken Britney Spears........or maybe not.

  • You guys are both nerds, lol. I mean a Danger Mouse T-shirt, common. Opp's OMG, I know who Danger Mouse is. Gotta a go, gotta re-think my life.

  • Thanks for adding my video response.

  • ITS GODZILLA!!!!

  • don't you mean...

    GODZIRRAA!!!! lol

  • you mean MECHA-GOZZER!

  • made me dizzy, camera moves so much, not enough monster, and they didnt finish the movie, there was NO FKN ENDING !!!! WTF! POS movie, stole our money off a good commercial. Cheers

  • Cloverfield is more of a movie of what pepole would do in real life i dought you might be a trained soldier or somting and realy focuses on ''what would normal pepole do'' and not on a basic hero

  • Personally, I loved the STORY of the movie. But the camera was maddening. I give this movie a 7/10.

  • Cloverfield sucked! Do not waste your time or money. I couldn't wait for it to end.

  • You have to be like a lost fan and know JJ Abrams to get the whole gist of the movie, the monster is aquatic of origin. The story is brilliant and the last scene is epically clever. All those websites about this just give it more depth and I agree with you for the most part I did get a little motion sickness, but thats because I was in the front off to the far right. So ya pretty good review.

  • i think

    cloverfield was

    the best,most original,most innovative i've ever seen

most people i hear keep sayin the movie was shit i was like wtf

i cried tears of joy watching this movie[thats a serious comment]

    best movie ever

  • man you are right, I think the director is kind of a genius, and people don't realize this was also a twisted romantic movie, like a crazy titanic, the way he looks for the girl and dies with her, the shots are unbealiveable, the effects, the acting is the best of the movie, no posers, no rambos, feels so organic the film, even the usa army looks so bad ass.

  • I AGREE

  • Blunty, In your next review I would love to hear about what you think about a possible sequel or prequel of Cloverfield.

    please :)

Unfortunately I watched it in the front section of the theater.

at first I thought it was the worst movie I had ever seen. probably because I wanted more closure in the ending.

Afterwards I found myself thinking about the movie, and realized it was really an amazing film.

  • i jus realized thats a "danger mouse" tshirt the guy in brown is wearing lol

  • When people don't get a "happy" ending that answers ALL of their questions, they tend to think it sucks. It's not about the monster. It's about the people. It's not even a "movie" per se. To bitch about the ending would be the same as watching someones wedding video and bitching about how it ends with the limo driving off. "Did they live happily ever after?" "Did that guy Stewart make it home ok after drinking all that wine?", "This movie sucks! That priest was a horrible actor!"

  • i thought the movie was fantastic but the ending killed it.

  • i own the handycam, it costs 200 bucks

  • Well as you guys said, its JJ so you're gonna get some hints for the bigger picture. Some spoilers here, anyone notice that smtg fell into the ocean during the ending scene? Also after the credit at the end you can hear someone said "Its still alive". Sequel anyone? I hope not, its best to just leave it as it is coz the best part bout the ending is that it makes us to make our own assumption. With just a 30 million budget, it's almost near perfection.

  • Cloverfield was not very good, it gave me a headache and was not entertaining at all.

    Avoid it if you can.

  • i kept woundering were the men in black were lol but the movie was really good and the star track trailer i had a joygasm. I loved the movie it was scary with out being scary.

  • godizzla mix with blairwitch and war of world

    that's it , final point

  • I gotta say honestly it was a REALLY interesting movie!

To anyone who hated the movie, wtf were you expecting?! A Brilliant Shakespearean monologue?!

Still the movie was pretty much shot brilliantly!

  • okay

    everybody

    DONT SEE CLOVERFIELD

IT WAS THE WORST MOVIE IVE EVER SEEN IN THEATERS

    HONESTLY DONT SEE IT

    DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY

    IT HAS NO STORY WHATSOEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Um i don't think we saw the same movie. This was an action/drama. I would say it's plot driven...

  • art student, by any chance?

  • in the Army, why?

  • okay

every movie should have a story.

    this had none

just some fuckin grasshopper attacks new york. takes out a monument or 2 then doesnt die.

    piece of shit movie.

    you cant win.

  • the first i heard of the film i thought i might want to see this but after watching this they filled me in a little more and now i am considering seeing it a bit more

  • I thought it was fantastic! Very compelling. Both my girlfriend and her 14 year old son both loved it as well. It also had the benefit of shutting the camera off like a YouTube video so we get to skip over slow and unnecessary blather.

  • i thought it was good but wasnt a fan of the ending. i thought there wouldve been some news coverage in the end.

  • just saw it. its good. its something new. its not AMAZING, but it is pretty dam good. its not Blair Witch, you wont really get motion sickness, the fact that they pulled it off with no soundtrack makes it great (music is usually VERY important). its well done with focusing on characters. wont give it away, but at the very end the monster is explained, most ppl dont notice it.

  • this happened BEFORE the theatre lights came on? unless you mean the object falling into the ocean on the right of screen, and that explains little more than "it's not of this earth"

  • i LOVE sapporo!

i heard cloverfeild was not very good

  • Horrible movie

  • Monsters! "It Envies the Living"
