I think you have it all figured out except for 1 detail... the smoke monster didn't possess dead people, it just collects their memories and appearance, unless it also steals their souls which is kind of possession. Anyway, I think that the island is powered by the same life force that is generated from the sun, maybe it is connected to all light in the universe. It's hinted in Lost that the power comes from the eye of Horus, maybe that was just their understanding of the truth.

@evanescencemad666 You must not have paid attention to the plot because in season 6 it is clearly stated that there is light and dark in each person's soul and people are judged by the island based on whether there is more light or darkness in their heart. The island is powered by spiritual energy, that's why it conducts electromagnetic energy, the smoke monster is made of dark electromagnetism. The island is the source of all light and dark, so how you can make that statement is beyond me...

I actually liked the theory/speculation but I don't see where you got your ideas from.

Honestly, the only two possible answers I can think of are electromagnetism or god. The reason I chose to say electromagnetism instead of god is because people often consider a biblical explanation for lost a cop out.

Does that answer your question of from where I drew my theory?

You kinda answered it, let me explain a little better.

After seeing the finale I wanted to watch lost over again. In the pilot Locke and walt talk about games. That they found games in ancient Mesopotamia, it was good VS evil. This makes me think that the first people who came across the island was from that time and place or that this whole thing started in ancient mesopotamia.

@zooomm In my theory I said that the Egyptians were the first ones on the island which explained the statue and hieroglyphics. Did you know that Egypt and the fertile crescent were very culturally diffused. Egyptian ideas, beliefs, and products spread to ancient Mesopotamia often because of the Nile. I think the reason backgammon boards were found in Mesopotamia is because the Egyptians brought them there.

And I think ur right that the first people on the island were from around that same time as Sumer (ancient Mesopotamia). BTW, Sumer and Egypt were very friendly back then. So I still agree with everything my theory said.

@zooomm Just read the comment I sent earlier. I said that electromagnetism is the only possible explanation for the white light and darkness. Think about it. Plus, the show constantly brought up the heavy electromagnetism on the island. Also, the Dharma Initiative said that they used the heavy electromagnetism to time travel. I think that its more than a coincidence that every time they move through time, a white light covers everything. I have a lot more evidence but ran out of characters

@zooomm Heres more evidence: modern theories in science say that alternate universes cud be accessed through conditions of heavy elecmag, if whatever is accessing it was capable of resisting the great amt of electromagnetism. Since the white light leads into heaven, its logical to assume it is composed of a great amt of electromagnetism which only souls (and Desmond) cud pass through. I cud give more evidence but im running out of characters. just ask for more and ill give it in another coment
