It's not "illegial" to tamper with something that you own. Unless, of course, you're modifying a car or a weapon (etc) to circumvent governmental regulations.
It does, however, void the warranty.
Oh, and by the way, in the future you might want to refrain from calling people "idiots" when you're about to say something patently stupid. It kind of backfires, you know?
highly recommend not doing that. Heard too many horror stories. Dont' go cheap and break - get a kit from us that points out where others have gone wrong. - thanks - ipj
Question. What do i do if my ipod video 5 gen..well wen i charge my ipod you can see that the screen says charging, but the thing is that the ipod battery picture is just blinking a green colored battery picture than a grey colored.
after i "charged" my ipod. and i unplug the usb cord from the ipod. The ipod battery icon shows taht it is not fully charged
Now this is a new battery that i just bought recently.
Might be a bad battery, might be a logic board issue. We'd suggest getting a battery from us - and if that does not work, we can refund or evaluation your device here in our shop.
I have a question, i do not need a new battery, but i got my ipod from a pawn shop, it was already opened, i dropped it the other day and it came apart, the ribbon isn't connected to the place the ipod, im not really sure how to get it back in there, how can i slide it back in there, i saw you used a tool, i dont want to break anything do i just move the brown piece or no?
best bet would be to get our kit, which comes with instructions and great photos to help you figure all this out. The instructions are WAY more detailed than this video. - ipj
Just got my battery in. The hardest part was definitely opening the case. Battery seems to be working fine. Installation took roughly 45 minutes due to opening difficulty and maybe over precaution. Instructions coupled with this video has my iPod up and running again. I used to have about 40 minutes of battery life. I'll post back with how I like the battery. For now, thank you!
thanks for your feedback. yes, we recommend going slow all the way through - why rush. Let us know how your new battery works for you - we cover it for ten years so it should give you years of enjoyment!
i´ve changed the battery, and it worked! but i can´t make it charge!! i tried with an usb cable, and a woofer that can charge it, but nothing!! can U help me?! i´m from chile! south america!
howdy! Try double-checking the connection. if that does not work, let us know your order number and email us so we can send you another battery to try. Thanks!
I really am thinking of getting my battery replaced but in no way do I wanna lose my songs/data on there, how much does it cost for you guys to fix it?
if you do the replacement yourself or send it to us, you will not lose the data/songs on your device during the battery replacement process, as this information is stored on the hard drive, and is not affected by disconnecting/connecting the batteries.
thanks to videos like these on youtube, I saved a bunch of money and learned how easy (well, I thought it was easy) to fix my ipod center click wheel.
Thanks a lot for the replacement kit. I just replaced my battery and everything went smoothly. It's charging right now.

is this safe for the ipod? Won't the case not fit correctly? I really want a better battery for my ipod 30gb, but I'm scared I'll end up breaking it.

It's very safe, and the battery fits just fine :) If you're afraid to break it, you're always welcome to send it to us for battery replacement.
