  • cool , my nickname was googie when I was a baby becuase I said that alot , thats were my channel gets its name

  • If you search for the italian Fiat Tagliero building in Asmara you can see a sort of prototype of these buldings

  • I really like this googie style, italian futurism and rationalism

  • still quite cheap if you ask me

  • I hated this stuff when it was new , i was a 1950's 1960's kid . Now i love it . Back then it had this cheesy cheapness to it. Space age stuff , that we knew wasnt going to be the normal look, except for wayout beatnicks and artist types. It was oddball looking stuff ,that never fit into any normal looking town. I used to go to a place called '' SPACE BURGER '' , they had foam planets wrapped in tin foil hanging from the cieling . Now, its nice to see .

  • Question for you Googie experts: Was the original Stardust casino done in the Googie style or did it only have elements of the style? I guess the neon sign would be googie, but what about the (Earth)-Globe that was at the center of the building? How about the circular sign?

  • Visit Synthetrix Photos Of The Forgotten for more Googie goodness!

  • I thought this was called doowop architecture.

  • A fast take on Googie education. Well Done! I LOVE this. More please.

  • I love googie ...

  • Fantastic!

    Thank you for posting.

I live in suburban new York, and used to bowl in a googie bowling alley, and go to a googie drive- in.

    All gone.

Like Beau arts and art deco, this archtecture should be preserved.

    Always wanted a googie house.

  • The Denny's on Boulder Highway and LV Blv both have that cool "boomerang" shaped roof that is so iconic of Googie architecture. I've noticed more architecture in Vegas that falls under the definition of Googie since January including a building on Industrial Rd that could be called "googie nouveau".

  • wow. what great photos. that denny's is the oldest original standing dennys. wondered if it qualified as this style of architecture. go see waitress moon there, she'll give you the best cup of coffee ever and a dinner salad with perfect cucumbers, if you are really hungry she'll make it a buffalo chicken salad with hot sauce and clean white breast meat. i lived at the strip hotel for awhile and recognize alot of this stuff. thanks so much for posting. did you do all the photography?

  • Well, I dig Googie architecture. It has a fun and optimistic look to it, Stuart, FL could really use some pop and style to it's bland, rotting boxy buildings.
