Aaaah this is awesome, five stars! Nice touch leaving the "Next Time..." on the second half util after the credits too, just as they do in the new series two parters! It's the little things that make the difference :)

Im really suprised you havent done more of your fabulous next time trailers. Youve dine very well with this one, and captured the true essence of a new series next time trailer, and adopted it for the classic series with great style.

You should really go for more, such as Earthshock or Revelation of the Daleks. one of the biggies of the 80's. Caves of Androzani would work well also. What editing software were you working with? Sony Vegas?

I have to admit, for a long time, I thought the cliffhanger for the "first" part of Resurrection of the daleks was the actual cliffhanger for the episode--the real one was very disappointing. They should have used this version in the actual serial. It's more effective, with the Doctor's scared expression.

i love the fact you changed the episode 1 cliffahnger to the daleks entering. that was what jon nathan turner wanted to do, but the episode was over running, and it had to be cut into the next (on the DVD)

I think that was shot as the cliffhanger, but somehow it got lost in the editing. Pity, but well done on recreating it! This is just about my favourite Who story of all time, with Davros scheming to get control of the Daleks and the Daleks almost succeeding in their plot to capture the Doctor and destroy his mind once and for all...then go after Gallifrey! Brilliant story, stunning trailers.

This is because it was originally filmed as a four part story, the beeb edited it into two parts because it's transmission dates clashed with the Olympics or some other big sports event, I can't remember which. Some of the other Who fans on here will know.

The trailer is great too by the way. Your completely right that both the Howell/Gold hybrid remix and the 'Next Time' trailer both work, but as you know the trick is picking the right clips to both heighten the excitement for the next episode without revealing too much about it. It's a hard job. There are many on both YouTube and the 'New Series' of WHO that don't manage it, but these ones are quite skillfully done.

This was great, the editing was very professional, the only niggle I had was you shouldn't have changed the Peter Howell theme music for a Howell/Gold hybrid, otherwise it was really pretty good. Try some other one's please, but don't change the original theme musics.

Aw mate but how could you refuse such a brillaint mix? I know what you mean about keeping the theme tune faithful, but I just don't find it works. I much prefer the rush of the new theme arrangement, and couldn't resist experimenting with a Howell/Gold hybrid.

What a great combination of the 80's theme and todays , You sure did pick a great ending of the Doctor saying he was going to kill Davros , shame next time previews didint happen in the original series , but then again , thats probably for the best that it didint .

I always thought that Murray Gold's theme would work better with the Peter Howell version of Ron Grainer's Doctor Who theme than Delia Derbushire's.

Derbyshire's theme might be timeless but Howell's is more modern and in sync with Gold's musical sympathies. He even said in DWM that his version wasn't meant to be spine-chilling or mysterious so you have to wonder why he bothered with the Derbyshire at all!

I don't know if a full version has been developed but I would love to hear one!

How'd you get the music of certain parts, EG the part where the soliders leave the blue van? And others?

Simple. I muted the sound from the video. In fact, I didn't use any of the original sound, because I had to capture it with one device and then record the sound on the computer - the other device wasn't good enough. I did some noise filtering on some of the dialogue with music under it. I took a sample of the "score only" track and then used the editor to remove most of it.
