The reason for muslims memorize the Qur'an is not because of culture but because absolute no one can ever claim that anybody ever temper with the Qur'an unlike the bible which is constantly change by the hands of Christian. We broke with our Church and still preserved christian values. Far from perfect but free enough to tolerate Christians converting to Islam. I sure hope, people can say that about the Islam one day. I have Mark Gabriel's book Islam and Terrorism. Excellent reading. This Christian brother is an excellent writer and speaker, but more than this, he is obviously filled with love for others and again more than this, he is filled with love for His Lord Jesus.

@umf It's not my claim. It's the Lord Jesus' claim, and you have proved absolutely nothing. Jesus felt forsaken because He took the sins of the world upon Himself, and by doing that He lost that fellowship with the Father; that oneness with the Father was broken, because God is Holy, and the sins which were placed on Jesus separated Him from the Father, which is what sin does.
Jesus existed with God from the beginning, which is not something you or I can say. Read John 1, to know who Jesus is.

But they are not sure. People have been adding to it and taking from it all the time. In the RSV they removed the word "Begotten" from John 3:16 your favorite verse as a fabrication. Mark 16 ends at verse 8, 9 to 20 is missing. The RSV and KJV has 66 books the roman catholic version has 73 books

@TefMan1 I was raised in a free country where most people turned away from organized religion because priests of all kind were indeed abusing over many centuries just like islamic priests are abusing until today. We broke with our Church and still preserved christian values. Far from perfect but free enough to tolerate Christians converting to Islam. I sure hope, people can say that about the Islam one day. It will be a long way for you guys and it starts with looking at Muhammed more critical.

His instincts of power might have lead to a radical form of rules for a society that works if man and especially woman are suppressed. Islam means submission to the will of God/Allah. But that was 1400 years ago.
Today we live in a different age. Modern societies have overcome suppression (that always serves the people in power) and are about to fall back with supression is done via manipulation.

Jesus felt forsaken because He took the sins of the world upon Himself, and by doing that He lost that fellowship with the Father; that oneness with the Father was broken, because God is Holy, and the sins which were placed on Jesus separated Him from the Father, which is what sin does.
Jesus existed with God from the beginning, which is not something you or I can say. Read John 1, to know who Jesus is.

The Jews in Muhammad's day & before that time used to refer to Jesus by this name as a way to mock him. His name in Hebrew was "Yashua" which is translated "Yasua" in Arabic (Joshua in English). As to your understanding of Jesus' words, I don't know what to say to you. If you can get that meaning from such a clear text, I'm speechless. Do you interpret the Quran this way?

@umfpimps As far as the Old and New Testament are concerned... They were written originally in Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek. All the "versions" as you call them are merely translations. Muslims do the exact same thing with the Quran because most Muslims don't understand Arabic.
The responses and questions you have are common to all Muslims. They don't understand the background of their Eids or the stories that are in their book. They are taught things that they just believe without checking them.

Please explain to me why Islam persecutes and executes Christians around the world if it is a peacful religion? Why are churches not allowed to be built in these countries. Why can't christians assemble together to worship in these countries if it is a loving and peacful religion like you say? The Prophet Muhammed was not a peaceful man but war monger who showed no mercy to anyone.

I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book.if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book. how can Muhammed come along 600 years after the bible was FINISHED and say oh wait i have received new revelation

@RayneLoveMadison Well friend, to your knowledge: The Bible has always been changing. Your own scholars say that they don't know who wrote those books. It's supposedly Mathew, Mark, Luke and John. But they are not sure. People have been adding to it and taking from it all the time. In the RSV they removed the word "Begotten" from John 3:16 your favorite verse as a fabrication. Mark 16 ends at verse 8, 9 to 20 is missing. The RSV and KJV has 66 books the roman catholic version has 73 books

@ThirdPharaoh TP, you have fallen for more myths. The Bible is authentic and unchanged. Christians, unlike Moslems, have not destroyed old texts. Anyone can compare modern texts with the ancient. The Dead Sea Scrolls prove the Bible of Mohammed's day was authentic. The modern Bible matches too.
The word "begotten" is a translated word. The original Greek means "unique" and "singular". In the days of King James, "begotten" was a good translation. It means there is no other like Jesus.

@ThirdPharaoh The Bible has NOT changed. Different cultist so called "Christian" churches have written their own Bibles, with many scriptures changed from the original, such as the "Mormons" and "Jehovah's Witnesses", leaving out the important Diety of Christ scriptures. And sorry, but the RSV is not a universally accepted version by Christians. It is a version used only by the Church of Christ which is considered by many Christians to be a cult as well. So your argument doesn't stand.

@10com40cal Before Abraham we all were, not just Jesus. The Rev book is a dream, every single verse can interpreted in a different way.
Every quote you mentioned never says Jesus was god, it's just your understanding.
Can it be that God comes on earth and never ever declares he is God? Not even once? Why didn't he say it to people straightforward?
