  • HATS OF TO LARRY

  • The best male revenge song EVER..I am 32 years old...a bit too young for the heyday of dearly departed Del, but I love this song.

  • I smell a buddy holly influence in this song.

  • Thanks so much for sharing this brilliant song.Takes me back to my teeny years xx

  • back in the 70s this guy apeared in my home town in england signed authographes and talked to us for over half hour a true gentleman

  • WOW!!!!! Thank you! This is a magic-sound version!!!!!

  • ive been there got the girl of my dreams she done the dirty on me with my friend now hes done the same to her great song del makes me smile to hear it

  • HATS OFF TO YOU DEL SHANNON. YOU HAD THAT VOICE THAT BOUGHT MUSIC BACK TO LIFE MAN. I LOVE YOUR MUSIC TOO BADD YOUR LIFE ENDED SO SOON WHEN YOU WERE AT YOUR PEEK, I MEAN I REALLY MISS YOU. I KNOW WHERE YOU ARE BECAUSE THATS WHERE ALL THE GOOD STARS GO. R. I. P. DEL SHANNON.

  • Ca me ramene 50 ans en arriere,et ça n'a pas pris une ride !

    Super !

    Pour l'info:L'instrument que l'on entend derriere n'est pas un synthé,mais une "Ondioline",un instrument français.Cocorico !

  • Del, this is the best song you ever wrote.

  • @notlazy99 the chords in this song arent that easy to play

  • damn long hairs

  • Brilliant , one of Dels greatest songs , we will never see the like of him again.

  • nice 49 ford

  • Those darn beatniks!

  • @leftchicago

Those darn Beatles. American Rock was never the same.

  • @Antlers68 if you heard the junk that was popular in england before the beatles youd throw up on the floor when roy orbison went to england the beatles were the opening act for him they were just recycling the everly brothers the brothers had to put their career on hold while they went in the marines

  • @spacepatrolman I don't think the skiffle of the 50s and early 60s in England was that bad, just different. Or are you referring more to the early British rock that came after the skiffle craze?

  • @MVillani1985 it wasnt the skiffle that was bad it was the other middle of the road pop singers the skiffle gave birth to the beatles and the searchers

  • @spacepatrolman

Didn't know the Everly Brothers were in the Marines. That was my old outfit.

The Beatles appealed to the kids. I've always felt that the American recording industry just rolled over for the British Invasion and gave up on old rock and roll, doo-wop, R&B. Everyone I knew like that music but it just stopped being played and promoted. Just my opinion.

  • @Antlers68 Dennis wilson said the same thing when the british invasion happened everybody abandoned ship

  • @Antlers68 ,to true blue,,,,,

  • epic- need help on oldies? doo wop? and 50's 60's and 70's? message me.

  • i have record and listen to sometime

  • slick

  • Hahahaha, after all this time of hearing this, I've only just realised how funny it is.

A woman slips off with a bloke and gets dumped by him. Bwhahahaa.

    Bitches.

  • Hey I have a simliar story turbo 1964.

    And we're the same age!

    : )

  • If my women left with another bloke theres no way in this universe id have her back , think im joking but this true to me in my life and the women i love i think is playing around ?? if i prove it shes gone no matter how i love her

  • Easy to see (or hear) why Beatles made it so big...

  • Thanks Electric,

That's a really awesome video ... a work of art. Genious!

  • Sounds a lot like Runaway, it

may sound cruel but it's true, and I like

Del Shannon's music. Basically a reworking of the same tune complete with organ solo. Still like it though.

  • sounds totally different to me. all a matter of personal opinion i guess

  • And Hats off to the great DEL SHANNON oh how we miss you. one of the true rockers of the rocknroll age. a MEGASTAR of the first order. we miss you so bad man. god rest your restless soul. TOMKES doo wop/rocknroll historian

  • cool song bring's back the early 60's memories r i p del your in rock n roll heaven .

  • When Kenny Everett started on BBC Radio 1 in the late sixties he was always playing this. Great song, and a great DJ.

  • New music is music if it's new to you. I found "Runaway" at age 10 in1974 and knew it was somthing special. I remembered how fresh and powerful Del sounded.

  • I was born in '48 and you had to fight off dinosaurs to get to the record store. You had to REALLY like a song to go through that!! Plus, you couldn't eat what you killed because they smelled so funky!! But I loved Del's music so the fight was worth it.

  • 10 in '61 remember singin' this to mysekf walking home from tennis lessons - great memories with song triggers

  • i was born in 97 but this song rocks!!!!!!!!!!!

  • great great song. i was born in 79 but loved it in my early teens when i was falling in love. helped me loads. thanks del.

  • Heck I'm also born in 1979 and prefer this kind of music to the CRAP the call "music" these days...

  • cool. you cant beat rock n roll. always and forever.

  • The sound is much better in this version - anyone know why?

  • There seems to be a lot more of the Musitron in this version for some reason, and it seems to be mixed slightly different. think this version is better than the regular one personally

  • @JohnGee1977 This is the STEREO version, with Instruments on the left, Del in the center, and The Musitron on the right.

  • @CenaTv2 max crook played the musitron organ he made a 45 I ALMOST BLEW MY BRAINS OUT OVER YOU ON BIG TOP RECORDS this movie the beatnicks isnt about beatnicks its about armed robbers

  • awesome song

  • dis song is pretty tight i lv this song

  • I agree, there was an innocence to the music and lyrics it wasn't staged it was real and from the heart

  • Dell was from the bubble gum music era,

when songs were simple and sweet and

talked of romance and teenage heart break. Del, Gene Pitney, Roy O, Jackie Wison, can't be replaced.

  • He is especially good with the high notes in this song. He can really hold on just right, great timing.

  • Larry Foote was pissed because he was removed from 3rd down duty during the Super Bowl run of 2008/09 in place of the faster, more dynamic Lawrence Timmons. But he didn't let those feelings get in the way of being a great teammate! hats off to Larry!

  • Good work!

  • I love the song, but I'm interested in what you did with the video footage. Great job!! 5 stars

  • Saw him live at The Universal Amethartre in 1984 - He rocked...

  • Nice subtle keyboard throughout, then really kicks in at 1:16

  • It was a Musitron, one of the first electronic synthesizers, quite ahead of its time in 1961 I reckon

  • Awesome song !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i figured that those old cars are from the late 50's/// i have a 60 chevy Impala in storage but still love the older the better....too bad it doesn't apply to women.

  • thats the best damn song to drive along the streets with your boy

  • Thanx del Ive heard this song that many times,I hope you're at peace you must've been hurting buddy miss u R.I.P

  • new rick roll

  • HA!!

  • Love this one as well. More memories of the super 60s. Del was one of the 60s superstars.

  • My fav. by Del. Couldn't have been recorded better or by a greater artist!!!

Cowboy Hats off in Texas to Del!!!

  • Charles Weedon Westover AKA Del Shannon, RIP.

  • The melody sounds a little like his breakthrough hit Runaway. He's got the falsetto vocal and Musitron organ in there as well. A good song nonetheless.

  • Oh my goodness! I have this movie on dvd. It is a crazy and sad movie. Never allow someone to stand in the way of your success. People who call themselves your friends should be happy when you become successful. Love this song so much. Hearing Del's music has made me a bit sad.

  • Everything you said is so true. Del Shannon's music is so innocent and made for another time. There will never be that sound again. So glad to still hear it. Rest in peace, lovely Del.xx

  • miss u dell. r.i.p.

  • awesome song!

  • check out (that runaway man)

  • Very nice that his music is used in many different ways, thats one way of keeping him alive for next generations to enjoy, his songs will go on and on forever if we see to it by playing it for our young ones, hopefully some of them will take it in, I have always loved his music since 1962 when I heard it first, love you Del for ever, caro

  • Love the bridge on this song.
