  • Notice how much more reverent this Mass was verses the Latin Rite Mass that the same person posted. It's time that the Latin Rite Church return to their reverent traditions. Though different, we ought to match the reverence of the Eastern Divine Liturgies in our Western Masses.

  • Christliness!

  • am cypritot proud maronite

  • Wow , different from roman rite!

  • I attended the Maronite Mass a couple times at a parish in Dover, New Hampshire. It was nice to see another rite within the Catholic Church.

  • Thank you for this video. I always wanted to see a Maronite Mass. I love Maronite music. What kind of sisters?

  • God bless the Syriac/Assyrian (any Aramaic Christians) of the Middle-East.

    Sincerely, a Syrian Muslim.

  • Greeting ....From Syro Malabar Catholic Rite..Kerala Province..South West India

  • That type of icon of Christ comes from the Ancient Church, for those who were not sure.

  • The early church never prayed for the dead. They never prayed to Mary, or the other 'saints'. They als knew that the bread and wine were a memorial of His once offered body and blood (Hebrews 9-10). They also knew that communion does not give us any grace, that Faith alone is a Sacrament. By faith we are saved as Paul taught!

  • @Menechem

no brother/sister, you are wrong, they DID all those things,

what they definitely DIDNT do was have a BIBLE. the letter to the Hebrews would only have been available to a small proportion of Hebrew Christians( as the other letters to other churches) thus apostolic delegation and oral tradition were the means and bulwark of the Gospel as they still are today together with the canon of sacred scripture

  • @aarespo Provide proof, what they did have was the Old Testament in the form of the LXX, and the Prophets condemned all the adopted pagan practises of Israel, such as praying to the dead and for the dead, and worship of the queen of heaven. Thus this disproves your claim of me being wrong. Furthermore just because Hebrews was not widely spread at that time doesn't make my argument anyless valid as it would have been the common doctrine among all the churches at that time.

  • @Menechem thanks for replying.. to understand the early church, you need to appreciate the CHURCH FATHERS.. these were the so called "elders of churches" yo hear in the NT. their practices were literally laid down by the apostles and supervised by them.. most of them were directly students and delegates of the apostles (like Polycarp was to St John, Linus was to Peter, etc).. what they belived is what the apostles believe.. you cant appreciate the Fathers and remain protestant....

    contd

  • @Menechem contd..

you note my point on the availability/circulation of the letters of the NT, and yet believe that they all had one doctrine.. this means that there was a tradition in universal circulation, coming from the mouths of the apostles authoritatively, not written in those letters, yet universally held to be apostolic.. this is what Catholics mean by Oral Tradition - another thing you must appreciate... CONTD

  • @Menechem CONTD

Oral is essential to our appreciation of the Written Tradition (the New Testament Documents).. even the NT refers to Oral Tradition in many instances, especially when ST Paul refers to things he told his faithful, which he does not repeat in his letters.. but gives when present ( 1 cor 11:34).. the NT is full of such hints that the written instructions and Oral instructions existed and complemented each other.. but most have ignored the oral and therefore go astray i

  • Ok im a roman catholic who wants to experience this liturgy, what are some things i should know about participating in it?

  • i think its english because its a maronite church with alot of english speaking peoples and they want to pray all together. who knows though english is mixed in with alot of cultures and traditions now just look at the philipines and taglish

  • what's the first song ?

  • I pray that Orthodox and Catholic will be ONE again!

  • a, i think that Fr gary is now rector of st raymonds cathedral in st louis

b, what does bourakshmoraboun mean ?(i think i spelt it wrong- its at 5:45 ish)

  • I don't get why they're praying in english

  • Rome will be destroyed next August for this Lord worship. fatimamovement dot c o m Remember in Catholicism, Jesus Christ is God, not subservient to a burning bush.

  • This looks odd to me. I know the Maronite rite but it is supposed to be ad orientum not ad versum. What is going on?

  • This is not the other form of Catholicsm - this is another Rite. The faith is one everywhere the method of worship is what differs

  • This is other form of Catholic, because in the Catholicism there are many rites, you know for instance Im a Roman Catholic, so im do the roman rite, this meronitas di the meronite rite, and the oriental and so forth... but all this belive in the primacy of the Roma´s Bishop, The Pope and they arent in schism

  • disgraceful English speech...

it sounds very badly. who is the author of that profanation????

  • I will pray for the Church in Lebanon tonight.

  • fuuny

  • @BoxmanDesu No. You sit down and be quiet. Your mother should have had you aborted though. Her mother too, for not teaching you better.

  • "We hold a treasure not made of stone but the living word of G-d", well if this is true how come the Catechism Contradicts the Teachings in the Word of G-d?! do you Catholics not know how to tell the truth?!

  • scribd (dot) com/nb812

  • Parabéns aos cristãos maronitas por defenderem e lutarem pela palavra do Cristo, em uma terra de muçulmanos.

  • It's not the real one of Jesus teaching. He also not agree with this ritual. it's so different with his teaching.

  • @yusri1970 how do yo know. Jesus told you himself? Are you Jesus 2nd?

  • @FrostTdot

Yes, jesus told me; there many believe after him. he also have god to worshiped. you must learn and know how to choice.... who is real God?

  • @yusri1970 God and Jesus is the one and same. You know, The Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

  • @skrivbok How can three in one? it show the God is weak, unconfidential. Why must have father, son and holy spirit? it's nonsense. There is not human like us, it is about God, God is must be different character... Very very special

  • @yusri1970 The Hebrew Echad means the unity of one, so it is quite easily be understood!

  • @yusri1970 actually it shows the strength of god. that it has 3 parts to 1 entity working together. it gives you 3 ways to understand this god. one way is the judging god who rules heaven and earth. a second way is the son who allows you to have a relationship with god and third is the holy spirit who helps you understand the part of od which holds up the heaven and the earth. btw i am orthodox and i love the eucharistic prayer

  • @yusri1970 He also does not agree with you Muslims!

  • @MenechemShaul dear frends, i'm Lost for a 30years, believe nothing, then i searching the believe/ religious to bring me to the God. i learnt every religious, i know everything- which is true/ false. who learnt, he/she must know the Truth. you see why have father/ nun convert to muslim? It's not happen to imam (muslim) convert to others.

  • @yusri1970 in the last time many will fool

  • what a pity the young man who says prayer. this well my child that I gave away about him in private vocal lessons. teach you the only you. and then some anatomy classes. I like the boyfriend. so if not so Catholic

  • what a pity the young man who says prayer. this well my child that I gave away about him in private vocal lessons. teach you the only you. and then some anatomy classes. I like the boyfriend. so if not so Catholic

  • viva kamrade

  • @kiwichristian2009 - As a Croatian I am fully aware of the trumped up charges made against Croats and Catholics. The great tragedy is that such rubbish still is promoted by the ignorant. Just as anti- semites keep refering to such obscenities as the "protocols of the elders of Zion" so anti- Catholics sooner or latter drag in the rubbish you have in this comment. For your info, after WWII there where 9% less Croats than before, there where .5% more Serbs.

  • I support Ratzinger and I'm a proud Catholic and Brazilian.

  • @daltonagre we all proud and we should stay proud that our goal and destination is one> god jesus and eternal life. do u agree?

  • @daltonagre

Then you should call him Benedict!

    =)

  • One of God's name in the Bibnle is "El".

Likewise, EL is the name of a Syrian (Ugrait archeology) and Phonecian-Cannanite god, one of many. Just like Yh, or YHWY, the Son of El.

Your God is rooted in pantheism, too.

    Hypocrite.

  • Coon is great. Love his work.

  • Nazi party? Wow, you are reaching now. Was it not Martin Luther's wittings that influenced Hitler and lead to millions of Jewish lives being snuffed out?

  • Read Martin Luther's tract titled "The Jews and Their Lies".

  • From 1941 to 1945, the Ustashas exterminated an estimated 500,000 Serbs, Jews and Gypsies, and looted their property. They demanded 1,000 kilograms of gold from the Jews of Zagreb, only to ship them to concentration camps and kill them anyway. The Croatian Catholic Church was closely entangled with the Ustashas: in the early years of the war, Catholic priests oversaw forced conversion of Orthodox Serbs while Franciscans distributed propaganda.

  • Shame on you!

  • You are quoting from the Bible and misleading people so that you may smear the Catholic faith. You are not converting only being a hypocrite. You protestants should not throw stones

  • And I asked you already for proof, historical wittings, data, etc..explaining how many people we're killed during the Spanish inquisition.

  • And i told you where to get them.

  • A Catholic priest named Juric said, "Today it is no longer a sin to kill a child of seven, should such a child be opposed to our movement of the Ustachi.'" "The worst atrocities, strange as it may seem, were carried out by members of the intelligentsia. The case of Peter Brzica is undoubtedly one of the most incredible in this category.Peter Brzica had attended the Franciscan College at Siroki, Brijeg,in Herzegovina, was a law student, and a member of the Catholic organization of Crusaders.

  • "the rcc is satans counterfeit Christianity"??? It is known that satan worshipers steal a Eucharist from a Roman Catholic mass and defile it in perverted mock black mass. They do not mock, Mormons, Watchtowers, Baptist, born agains, prosperity preachers, calvins, or any of the other 33.000 protestant faiths to date..and counting. If we are satans tool, I offer these words.."how can satan stand against satan" use your head friend, not your feelings and emotions. Critical thinking is vital here.

  • And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet color (official Vatican colors), and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls (the Vatican is filthy rich), having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations (the Holocaust, inquisitions, etc.) and filthiness of her fornication: And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY (very few people realize where the Catholic religion started), ...

  • ...BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS (who seduce people into their damnable religion) AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH —Revelation 17:4,5

  • "The smoke of Satan has entered the Sanctuary"

    Pope Paul IV - 1963

"The cultic acts of Satanic pedophilia in the Catholic Church are considered by professionals to be the culmination of the rites of 'The Enthronement of the Fallen Archangel Lucifer' in the Vatican"

    Fr. Malachi Martin - 1990

  • kiwichristian2009@ You have not answered my questions?

  • @loudmouthspeaker - You protestants follow the principles of Martin Luther...was he not a man?

  • What is your definition of a "protestant" ? Catholics seem to throw that word around A LOT, and i would be interested to know what your definition of it is.

  • hi, kiwi seems to be hot on the track.... the RCC is a man made tradtion.. complete with its own priests and bishops...

we were warned that a false system would come into confuse the people

  • kiwichristian2009 - Where can I find historical wittings, documentation, showing how many people we're killed during the inquisition?

  • Google is your friend. So if the library. how many people does it take to make it an atrocity of the highest kind from a supposed church of god?

  • kiwichristian2009 - The word Purgatory is not in the Bible and neither is the Trinity. BTW we Catholics gave you reformationist the concept of the hypo static union.

  • The trinity is described in the Bible plainly and simple. Purgatory is not. You catholics also gave us murderers ( the inquisition and crusades ), thieves ( how is the rcc so wealthy? ), pedophile priests who have free reign to rape children and get away with it ( as you well know ), false doctrine, idolatry, islam, the nazi party.

  • @kiwichristian2009 Purgatory is found in scripture. Matthew 12:32;matthew 5:26; luke 12:59; 1 corinthians 3:15; colossians 3:25; 2 timothy 1:16-18; 1 peter 3:18-20. Also, we catholics do NOT practice idolatry at ALL! Also, "He who is without sin cast the first STONE."

  • @dis00612 Hello friend. Christ died on the cross for sins. There is no purgatory. Isn't that great news!!!

  • @johnthreesixteen316 The great news is that Christ died for our sins but there is surely a purgatory and purgatory is a good thing. It is the place where those who are saved go but who are not ready to go to Heaven because the must atone for their sins.

  • Erratum : no masculine, feminine and or diminutive in this language for "Rock"

  • @kiwichristian2009 - Christ spoke Greek to Peter? Kaipha (Aramaic) means just that..ROCK! There is no masculine, feminine and or diminutive in this language. Hence no little or big rock. Truly Christ was not talking to himself when he said "your name will be Peter" and "what you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven"? I belive you need to do more research and study,Greek, Latin, Hebrew, etc.. before you try to change something that has been understood as such for 2000yrs. God bless you.

  • Where do you get that anything not commanded in Scripture is forbidden?

  • Because the Word of God is the utter and COMPLETE revelation of God. The things you do in the rcc is forbidden by God in His Word.

EG: Mary worship? In the Bible you can only find how God hates the Queen of Heaven.

The eucharist? In the Bible you can only find how God said don't drink blood.

Purgatory? The word and concept are not in the Bible.

Co-redemptrix? In the Bible you find there is only ONE Redeemer and Saviour. His name is Jesus.

  • "He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood dwelleth in me, and I in him." The sixth chapter of St John's Gospel, and I believe you'll find that our Lord himself said it. Oh, I forgot; that was the one place in the Bible where God wasn't speaking literally!

God hates Astarte, who was worshipped as the Queen of Heaven by the Phoenicians. What's that got to do with the BVM? Who do you think is described in Rev 12:1-5?

  • Belief in Purgatory is not disparaged anywhere in the Bible. The explicit doctrine of Purgatory is not scriptural, but neither are computers. Or ice cream. Yet both exist! Is it unlawful to use a computer?

The RCC doesn't teach that Mary is a co-redemptrix. That's a minority opinion within the Church that has no official status.

    Finally : get an education.

  • Of pagan origin, the Roman Church proclaimed purgatory as an article of faith in 1439 at the Council of Florence, and it was confirmed by Trent in 1548. They teach that those in purgatory can be helped by the prayers and good works of those on earth (which would include the "purchase" of masses and/or other indulgences), but they are not certain how these prayers and works are applied (cf. 2 Peter 1:9; Hebrews 1:3; John 3:18; 19:30; 2 Corinthians 5:6-8).

  • "Now where there is forgiveness of these things, there is no longer any offering for sin." Hebrews 10:18. Our forgiveness is already complete; we do not need to be purified in purgatory!

  • No, you're making a nuisance of yourself where nobody asked you. There's a difference, but you're in such a hurry to show how much more you know about Jesus than those "pore ignernt Cathliks" that I don't suppose you'll ever see it.

  • I am quoting the Word of God, if this offends you, then i suggest you spend time reading it rather than remaining brainwashed in the rcc cult.

  • Your quoting it doesn't offend me. Your not understanding it is what offends me.

  • In fact, kiwichristian2009, why don't we make a deal? You go ahead and worship God in your own way, and I'll go ahead and worship Him in His.

  • I challenge you to disprove anything i have said.

  • How about taking the "traditions of men" quote completely out of context? I seem to remember that it was applied to the Pharisees' interpretation of the Law. I'm sure we'd all be edified to know what that has to do with the Roman Catholic Church.

  • Surely you have better things to do than go online to antagonize your fellow brothers in Christ?

  • sam crucifix at St.Leanders in San Leandro

  • @kiwichristian2009 1 Cor 11:2

" I praise you because you hold fast to the traditions, just as I handed them onto you"

  • Yes. traditions of the gospel not traditions of man.

  • Melissa230984

    what do you believe in?

what moves you out of bed everyday into the world? do you love your parents, sibblings? what moves you to move?

  • Man is a marvelous curiosity he thinks he is the Creator's pet he even believes the Creator loves him; has a passion for him; sits up nights to admire him; yes and watch over him and keep him out of trouble. He prays to him and thinks He listens. Arent christians stupid! LOL!

  • Melissa230984

    what do you believe in?

what moves you out of bed everyday into the world? do you love your parents, sibblings? what moves you to move?

  • Live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones.

  • I do like your answer...and it makes sense why you said what you said earlier..

however, you did offend some of us with your comments earlier...

but I can respect what you say...

do you believe if life after death ? of any kind? re-encarnation ? whats your theory on that ?

how about miracles ? if you live a virtuous life and noble, do you believe that attracts miracles for a lack of a better word?

am just curious about your thoughts on these subjects...

  • There is no life after death. People usually consider walking on water a miracle. But I think the real miracle is not to walk but to walk on earth. Every day we are engaged in a miracle which we don't even recognize: a blue sky, white clouds, green leaves, the black, curious eyes of a child -- our own two eyes.

  • Thanks, Melissa. The best way of convincing others of your point of view is, obviously, to be an asshole.

  • Interesting that the Pax is before the Eucharistic Prayer, unlike the Roman Rite and how the Anglican and Lutheran masses are.

  • @Melissa230984 Who asked for your opinion

  • @Melissa230984 Seems like you're a person who watches other people's videos just to make nasty comments

  • @Melissa230984 I can see you are a polite pleasant person who gets along well with others

  • Ofcourse I do :)

  • Thanks for your total ignorance, intolerance, and for plagiarizing Denis Diderot

  • Go worship your dead jew on a stick!

  • I worship a living God who by His own power overcame death.

Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner.

  • This comment is ridiculous.

10 million of hebrew people speak a language which was resurrected in 1945=Hebrew.

    Nobody gives a shit.

  • Very nice mass need more in the maronite arabic service pls..much appreciated thank you .may the Lord be with you .Praise the lord Amen ...

  • Why are they not kneeling down in the mass, maybee i dont see it ?

  • Because the early church said that on Sunday it is supposed to be a day of celebration, not penance, so people should not kneel. So Eastern Catholics, Eastern Orthodox and Oriental Orthodox do not kneel on Sunday unless they are unaware of that. The west changed it.

  • Kneeling is a Western posture for adoration. It is not commonly used in the East, except for showing repentance (for example during Lent). Bowing is the proper posture for adoration in the East.

  • This message was very relevant and just amazing!

  • You're the one that is clueless. You're full of hate and concern about money, but people that have love and know god are not affected by such stupid things as money or recessions. It doesn't matter, money will always go away, everything in this life will always decay, break apart and die - to be attached to it or give it any importance is the stupidest thing anyone could ever do. When it is taken away, which it always will be, those who give it importance suffer and long for it.

  • Zio Jews brought us this recession, Fed Reserve and Dual Citizen Israeli War Mongers that control the USA

Recession has nothing to do with Worshipping our Savior

    Money is Not Our God.

    You cannot serve 2 masters

  • Maronites are not byzantines. Their divine liturgy is different than the byzantine rite, they have a different calendar etc. Just because it isn't byzantine doesn't mean it's western, and furthermore, just because it's western doesn't mean it's bad.

  • to add to my comment, there seems to be so much hand wringing over "latinizatoin". Everyone wants to go back to some hypothetical "pure" liturgy. Such a liturgy never existed. There has always been influence from other rites. The church I went to had a lot of "byzantinization" if you please, but noboby complained. I loved everything. The byzantine icons, the rosary, the aramaic. it was all wonderful.

  • First time I watched the Maronite Divine Liturgy and I can observe so much Latinization and Roman rite influence. The priest even makes the sign of the cross the same way as Roman Catholics do. I pray that the Maronites will return fully to their eastern traditions.

  • You know in the early church there was a variety of ways to cross one's self, though? Even the current method used in the Eastern Orthodox church was only adopted a few hundred years ago and that fact is not contestable at all, it is well known.

  • Sooooo much negativity. This video GLORIFIES CHRIST and yet so much negativity. Listen to the epistle again!

  • Whats the name of the first song ?

  • Wow, decatholicb.... is not not only pontificates on all things liturgical but is also a psychic able to read the minds of people he has probably never met. Just enjoy this liturgy and let the spirit lead the viewers.

  • Isnt any wonder why so many people at this Parish go to the Maronite liturgy when it is celebrated at this Church. That is with all the Gutairs and drums. Not to mention an adjunct tabernacle?

  • very beautiful.

  • How is it possible that life is a test and that all you have to do to pass this test is to believe? This means billions of inocent people are going to hell because they were born into a different religion, or born in a time or place where they never even heard of Jesus.

  • I'm a Catholic and I personally don't believe that. I mean God can do some pretty amazing things. He probably know what your life would've been like either way.

  • You don't believe what? That life is a test or that billions of people throughout history have never heard of Jesus? Also please specify on what you mean by "He probably would know what your life would've been like." As far as what? Whether you were a good person or not? Or do you mean destiny?

  • To do good is believing in Jesus. So whether you know about him or not it really doesn't matter as long as you're good. No one is damned to hell. Everyone is given the chance to believe.

  • A good person should be judged by their actions, not by what they believe in, this is a huge misconception amongst people who belong to a religion. Simply because a person does not believe in god does not mean they wish to lead an immoral life style, nor does the act of believing make someone good. If it doesn't matter as long as you're good then what is the point of knowing the "Word of your Lord" to begin with? There are many who HAVE lived and died without the chance to believe.

  • But everyone is given the chance to be good.

  • The only people who need a chance to be good are those with a court order for probation, other than that people don't need a "chance" to be good, they are good because it is a behavior that reflects them personally. Being good should be a personal choice and should not be an agenda to make it to the pearly gates or to avoid the depths of hell.

  • People decide if they are good or not regardless of their personality. As for me, I prefer the laws of God much over our laws. You don't have to become a saint to get into heaven. You just have to show Jesus that you want in by following his example the best to your ability.

  • You're right they can be good regardless of personality, but that's not what I said. I said personal choice. The world is dynamic, changing all the time, therfore a good choice should be based off of circumstance. The laws of your god may be suitable in many but not all circumstances, and in those circumstances your god will not give you any answers, only you can make those decisions for yourself. Nothing is absolute in life, not even your Gods laws.

  • YOU know nothing of it do you, a saint is anyone that enters heaven, not just the cannonized. We are to live as saints would, but to enter heaven one need not be cannonized, but must be one with Christ in liveing as he would daily taking up our crosses.

  • Comment removed

  • Trust me, my friend, being good and doing good things does NOT get you into heaven. Thats what the Bible specifically says.

  • Look marcel, if you would like to debate, thats fine, but if you wan't to bash my faith, then you should leave youtube, becuase no one has no time for biggots.

  • prove it.

  • I like the rite of communion, almost like the tridentine mass.

  • Since when do they use instruments?

  • Actually, you have to be a married prior to becoming a priest in the Eastern Orthodox and Eastern Catholic.

  • Really[mannyfit75] I thought that was a choice and if you wanted to be a bishop you cound't?

  • As for bishop they remain celibate just like St. Paul. In fact, I know a Lutheran convert who converted to Catholicism and he is married and he is married.

  • Sorry, but I'm afraid you're wrong. The bishops in those churches MUST be celibate.

  • orthodox priest can get married.... where's the logic in that?

  • What's wrong with that?

  • your a dumbass... Maronite church is a eastern catholic church.. wow we're just called different.,.. same rituals same verytning

  • 300-400 yrs ago, there were no catholic people living in the middle east. all native arab christians in the middle east were orthodox before europeans started arriving and paying people to convert to catholicism & follow the pope thousands of miles away in italy.

jesus never lived in italy or even visited italy, so why does the pope thing that italy is the capital of the christian religion?

he is ignorant & dead wrong. I advise him to visit palestine to see where it all began 2000 yrs ago.

  • really well in palestine.. the christians attack other christians of th emiddle east and therefore creating stupid arguemnts... we're killing each other in the middle east.. and trust me i kno my shit when it comes to maronite.. being one myself. And Orthodox priests can ge tmarried... tell me what kind of representation of Jesus does he bring.. when he gets married. ?

  • Comment removed

  • Thats very intelligent for a person who Knows his sh--. Maronite Priests can be married. Historically throughout the early church, not only priests where married but also Bishops. I no several Maronite priests who are married.

  • then thats not the right way... hes doing something agains the maronite church...

  • This is a section from wikipedia on Maronites. I think your enthusiasm is great

"Celibacy is not required for deacons and priests with parishes (though they may not re-marry after the death of a spouse); monks must remain celibate, as well as bishops who are normally selected from the monasteries. Due to a long-term understanding with their Latin counterparts in North America, Maronite priests in that area are expected to remain celibate."
