  • Chad give me something! why is everyone so static?!?! if I could be there I'd try to jump the fences.

  • 50,000...

    Wow.

  • I love how at 3:34 he sings "crooked souls trying to stay up straight" and nearly falls over!! :)

  • Amazing song

  • Most depressive audience ever... Too bad! Such an AWESOME band!

  • During the whole preformance I saw four maybe five people with there arms in the air feeling the music until they finished, bloody hell that's shocking after the preformance they gave everyone should have their arms flapping about in the air and jumping or dancing. Feel the music people thats what going to a live show is all about not standing there like you're watching paint dry.

    Brilliant preformance x

  • the ending and the last chorus are different from the original track, love it!!

  • 3 people are bieber fans

  • This crowd sucks!! how can you hear this song and not jump??

  • con esta cancion me loqueo en mi cuarto, buenaza, la bateria suena muy bien..........

  • Holy crap, what an amazing band. My only complaint? THE CROWD. WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU PEOPLE DOING!??! Sheesh, I was at a SF concert in New Hampshire last August and the whole crowd was going effing NUTS for EVERY song.

  • Awesome live video. :D

  • This video is so good but the crowd is so dead!

  • switchfoot es el mejor

    x)

  • wooooow!!! the crowd sucks! :D

  • just so you know, the song at 3:04 is american dream acoustic version.

  • @jordanls13 lol no its the shadow proves the sunshine

  • @jordanls13 wait, isn't that the shadow proves the sunshine!?

  • @Dman761 I love that he snuck that little verse in there haha.

  • come on !!! this guys rocks, in a studio record or a live concert no matter if the voice change, i dont care !!! this band gives everything in every show in every performance,

they can play for hours, they love what they do and you can feel it in every song from a cd .. dvd or a live show and thats why i love them... please don't mess with SWITCHFOOT (:

  • jon has the best job ever and is extremely blessed

  • Thank you for uploading

  • جميل رابيكا

  • amazing song

  • MY FAVORITE BAND EVER. My favorite vocalist. Great song / poetry writer (however I give credit to all of them... they wouldn't be here if there weren't all 5)

  • THE CROWD IS JUST STANDING THERE!!! WHAT!!??? THATS HORRIBLE! THEY ROCK.

  • for me they are the best band out there

  • Wow. Check out Drew's Fender Jaguar. Pretty nice one.

  • This song is one of the reasons why I count Switchfoot among my favorite bands. And Jon is an amazing singer. Wow.

  • One word... Amazing

  • OMG i dont care when he messed up the lyrics in the begginning. This was so powerful i almost cried! Bless you SF! ugh, they always make my day!

  • I love how they transfer into The Shadow Proves the sunshine! Its so awesome!

  • This is probably one of my favourite Switchfoot songs :) Seeing them in a month!!!! =D

  • one person doesnt know what music is..

  • what is that award? GRAMMY!!!

  • Does anyone know if you can eliminate dislikes as the video uploader? I'm only half joking.

  • Switchfoot and Coldplay should perform together..and also do a song together! :)

If you agree Thumbs up this comment!! :)

  • PATHETIC CROWD INDEED. what are they, stone?

  • 1:42 is about the extent of their mosh pit section.... pathetic crowd. But awesome band

  • Anyone that tries to compare this to the album is misinformed. This isn't the same song as it was in a stuffy studio. Music is about expression. When they perform it live, the song "We Are One" means something greater than just a radio hit, not only to them, but to whoever is listening.

  • This reminds me of We Are The One by Anti-Flag.

  • 1:58 haha you gotta love Jon!

  • This is like the quietest crowd I have ever seen.

  • Great song!!! I listen to Switchfoot when I'm feeling low on faith.

  • @ZxSkyLineKidxZ i feel you on that one...

  • i think it sounded fine hahaahaha

  • i just got goosebumps

  • the esence of the song is all.... and the esence is a super melody ... what he say.... this is the most important... and he call that we are one!!! and in this world must be a change, if not, fall down as we are very slowly... and he and not just an artist he is a minister ...

  • these guys are amazing live!

  • These people need to jump,

  • my first comment when i heard this song was:

If we ever cover this, can I sing Tim's part?!

i thought it was kinda funny... thus, i'm posting it.

p.s. Jon is AMAZING live and of better quality than virtually all artists I have ever seen. Most fall short but he always has the passion and the gift and talent behind it. I look up to him so much as a performer. This is so amazing and touching and moving.

  • @angela1894 Obviously, the vocal quality of the majority of artists will degrade somewhat outside of a clinical studio setting. Granted, Jon is by no means perfect, but he is a step above most lead vocalists I have encountered. Give him credit. These guys tour for a large portion of the year, leading to a possible overexertion on his voice.

By the way, listen to their latest album, "Hello Hurricane" (just nominated for a Grammy award, incidentally). The use of autotune is virtually nonexistent.

  • @2LOTR4

Most albums don't even use auto tune. That's just a plug in for hip hop artists mostly.

Most bands if they do use pitch editing it would be Melodyne..

Which doesn't auto correct, a person actually goes into the notes personally and changes them to the right one :]

    Extremely hard program to use.

  • @2LOTR4 I'd also like to point out that Switchfoot is one of the few bands that puts out live material unaltered. Most other bands these days rerecord and autotune, even on their live media. In most everything but Live in San Diego, Switchfoot leaves their live recordings raw; I think it's awesome that there's still a band out there who stays true to what they actually sound like and who are more concerned about the passion and the meaning of their performance than hitting all the right notes.

  • @2LOTR4 Well said.

  • @2LOTR4 and they won the grammy. :)

  • @angela1894 I made my friends listen to this song and the first thing that they noticed was that he sounds good live. imo this is way better than the studio version

  • @angela1894 the esence of the song is all.... and the esence is a super melody ... what he say.... this is the most important... and he call that we are one!!! and in this world must be a change, if not, fall down as we are very slowly... and he and not just an artist he is a minister ...

  • @angela1894 WHatttttttttt are you saying!!!! he has one of the most amazing live voices I've ever heard!!!

  • WOAH. He sounds like the exact same.. :) i think he saound amazing!!!!! :) the whole performance is excellent.

    :D

Have you ever heard Brittany spears, Katie Perry, Train, or black eyed peas live... Now thats CRAP.

  • @angela1894 in my opinion his voice sounds powerfully angelic, filled with strength and wisdom

  • @MrSchulta strength, wisdom, and just a hint of pain, a perfect mix

  • @angela1894 If you haven't been to their show, you can't judge

I used to wonder if my favourite band sounded worse live because I watched a lot of Switchfoot shows on YouTube, then I went to their concert in Sydney

If anything, it's the recording equipment not doing their music and vocals justice

Jon Tim and Jerome all have amazing voices :)

  • @angela1894 you wanna try singing while you're out of breath? it's not as easy as it looks.

  • @angela1894 have you heard how T-Pain sounds? THAT is auto-tune. Jon's voice is the raw thing.

  • @angela1894 Crap?!

Perhaps try listening to more live music and you will see how good he is vocally...

  • @angela1894 Either way, Switchfoot is still an amazing band! Jon can wail notes above what I can't even think about singing!

  • @angela1894 .. Jon is maybe the one and only artist I have found to sound better live than in the album.. so shut up! ¬¬

  • @craziestpunk I would correct that statement to add Bruce Springsteen, but that would be a matter of taste, really. I agree that SF sounds so much better live.

  • @angela1894 -blinks- I like his voice better live.

  • @angela1894 you're kidding right? it sounds so much better live. so much character as compared to the perfect studio recorded version.

  • @angela1894 Clearly you never listen and watch Radiohead live version. No offence to Switchfoot they are a great band as well.

  • best mashup ever

  • I'm kinda speechless...and that just doesn't happen to me!

  • 5:41 IS EPIC!!!!

  • even jerome is holding his tears back from the beauty of the song - 4:18

  • Epic.

  • this video still gives me chills everytime i watch it and rekindles what i love about switchfoot and music in general

  • @marvelboy04 Same! I LOVE it. It's probably my favorite video of WAOT.

  • I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!! best music video ever made!!!

  • that kid at 5:19 ticks me off so much every time. how can you be texting at a switchfoot concert!

  • @Guitarfreak8495 im pretty sure hes videotaping with his phone

  • Wat can ii say?! WAHOOOOOO!!!!

  • SICK, period.

  • I'm glad this vid has 0 dislikes.

  • LOVEEEE.

  • 2 of my favorite songs of all time!

Thanks for posting all these videos! God bless^^

  • Man what a lame crowd. The citizens from Nashville gotta take a step away from that country stuff and learn how to ROCK OUT. It's not all about compression and single-coils.

  • @blahdyblahable I agree man, except that Switchfoot uses single coils too man, infact Drew uses them lots

  • @Disciple1818 Oh totally. These days seems like Drew uses Fenders a lot and most Fenders are equipped with single coils. Ultimately, having the option of both gives, well options! :) And these guys have a great balance of sounds in my personal opinion.

  • love how he added the shadow proves the sunshine to the song , it fit perfect!!!

  • is this a new dvd? cool

  • @dr05guitar This is their newest DVD. They released it in 2009. If you want to but it, check out their online store. It's definitely worth $18!

  • @2LOTR4 cool thanks

  • This is just soo good, i remember when he used to be shy on stage liked everyone else is still today. But this guy and the rest of the band really know how to get the crowd into it. AND STILL give a sick performance!

  • I love It!!! SWITCHFOOT rocks!!....but, the crowd is a litle mmmm like bad?? jaja, but swichfoot!! oh God! Swichfoot rocks!

  • i love it!!!!

've been listening to this song for ages!!!

    jon is a genius

    and so is switchfoot!

  • This is my favorite song. I wish I was at that concert.

  • I loved it !!

  • Comment removed

  • He is beyond genius, he is a natural born performer. A naturally blessed piece of art.

  • 100% Sick. Say what you want about Jon's live voice, the guy is an absolute genius.
