@momoyen Your first sentence is dumb, of course I know what youtube is! As you so cleverly stated, I have an account. As for the rest, maybe some people do like a video for that reason. I don't, but we all have our opinions and ways of showing appreciation. I say 'thanks for uploading' in a comment if I want to show I appreciate it and I hit the like button if I LIKE THE VIDEO and what's happening in it. It's just my way of doing that, you don't have to agree with it.
May God's presence be seen and felt by all those impacted by this devastating event. I don't believe God causes this kind of pain, but I do believe He never wastes a hurt.
According to NWS Indianapolis, they issued Severe Thunderstorm Warning at 8:39 pm. The stage collapsed at 8:55 pm according to Indianapolis Police. Officials at Indiana State Fair are claiming that they tried to warne people at 8:50 pm of severe storm.... so people had 5 minutes of warning BUT they should had gotten 10-15 minutes of warning and cleared the area. RIP to the deads and prayers for those who are affected by this tragedy.
Fairgrounds can be dangerous places in bad weather. Temporary structures even well secured can't survive strong winds. Several people were killed at the NY State Fair about ten years ago during a bad storm (though, not in a concert stage situation like this). So sorry that there were deaths here
This is terrible. Yes, I am glad that Jennifer and Christian as well as their crew and the other performers are okay, but their lives are no more valuable than the ones lost this evening. Let's please keep that in mind as we pray for the families affected by tonights turn of events, for those injured, and for the souls that aren't going home tonight.
You know all you people typing in caps e-shouting at each other doesn't stop trolls, it fuels them. You all look retarded.
A pity the video quality is so blurry, but thanks for uploading. So scary. Feel sorry for everyone there who went to have a good time and got badly hurt, trapped, or killed. D:
Many of my friends went to the fair tonight to see them. Some had very close calls, others were not near it. One friends wife noticed that the workers were putting covering on the equipment, so she suggested they move because of the storm. Not 5 minutes later the stage came down where they were sitting. My heart goes out to those killed and injured.
I dont understand how people are saying "well at least the band wasn't on stage" The lives that were actually lost are just as important as that awful band and its members.
Also Please quit thanking god less people were hurt and thank the emergency workers and good samaritans who helped to prevent the further loss of life.
@BlueDoryphore We have a saying in the coast guard. Lightning in visual range means high winds. Hold onto your butts.
Again i'm sorry for the loss of life, but a storm in the distance should have been enough warning to get people out. Wind blows a lot further then the storm, that is just common sense that the venue owners failed at and should be held accountable for.
I was outside somewhere close to the state fair, the storm happened so fast within seconds leaving people with very little time to run/ seek shelter. My heart goes out to all who were injured n the families who lost loved ones
@evaunit01berserk you have no respect what so ever for those that have lost their lives. There was signs or lighting and thunder, but it wasn't over head. The storm came out of no where with high winds. My thoughts and prayers go out to the known 4 families that lost a loved one and the 24+ that are said to be injured now.
AGAIN, I WILL BLOCK YOU AND DELETE YOUR COMMENT IF IT IS NEGATIVE AND INSULTING!!! SHOW SOME RESPECT FOR THE PEOPLE WHO DIED....

glad to know jenn and kristian are okay <3 praying for those injured, passed and the families and friends of those people. it's a sad tragedy. the likes of this video shows how ugly this world is.
I live in Indiana as well. The gusts just came out of nowhere, nothing could've stopped what happened. Sugarland should be greatful they weren't playing when this happened.
@Fatal616 no1currs, instead of shouting anti-american slogans, go be productive and do something for your country like be productive, instead of sit on youtube and whine all day
You know, i'm sorry for the loss of life, but there is some major irresponsible shit going on in this video. You can see the lightning and storm incoming, why the hell was this not put on hold?
@lookmisvideos A severe storm was in Indy at the time and strong winds 65-70 m/h hit the stage and it just went down. No one was playing at the time, but Sarah Bareilles just got done performing and Sugarland was about to play. So this all happened during intermission pretty much. Several critically injured.
This is a HORRIBLE tragedy. Just think, if this happened 5 minutes earlier or even 10 minutes later, the opening acts and/or Sugarland could be DEAD. This is a horrible, but we are so lucky it happened when no one was performing. Aside from that, every last person who is hurt or in critical condition has my thoughts and prayers. How the hell can 40 people LIKE this, this is a HORRIBLE TRAGEDY!!! People have DIED! Do those 40 people have no respect for human life?! Anyway, my prayers to everyone.
@cavaliers60 Yeah, according to the News Station I was watching, they were finishing prepping the stage for Sugarland's performance and the opening act had left the stage just 5 or 10 minutes before. Agreed, thank goodness they are alright, but others have still been hurt or died. :(
@UltimateSith1 It wasn't 40 people killed, it was 4 people thus far and 40 injuries. Also, I have to say that you're comment is a bit disrespectful to those who have lost their lives tonight and their families. Yes we all love Sugarland and the other performers, but their lives are no more important than those who died tonight!
My bro is a firefighter in Beech Grove and we were on the phone when the call came in. I heard that some places reported gusts over 70 mph. Absolutely insane. Thoughts go out to the families of the victims.
Please block ANYONE that is being negative!!!!! We need the light of love in here!! WE must all pray!! and Send light and love and energy and patience and good vibes and everything we can muster..lets send it out to them!!!
@rmyontz I don't see how it is... It's a tragedy that many people are wondering what happened. Yes people died, and I feel terrible for their families and friends, but this video can be used to remind people of the dangers of putting on a concert... And since I DO that kind of work, it's a great reminder to me that this can happen to me as well...
@cavaliers60 It's a tragedy that it happened because these were just unsuspecting concert-goers looking to have some summer fun with their friends and families and now they will never make it home, not to mention that it happened in front of so many others and so many children! (and they had a clear sky forecast to boot)
@MrJeffsss No, Sarah Bareilles just got off the stage, and an anouncer was saying Sugarland was going to perform soon. Pretty much during intermission.
people like the video because it is a good video and they want it to gain recognition. yes the event is terrible, and it is sad that people died, but the video should get likes so that more people know this happened.
Terribly tragedy.... Just watch this on FOX and CNN.. I live down South from Indianapolis, and am just in a state of shock, don't really know what to say..
omg my thoughts and prayers go out to everyone there my mom use to work there in the summers when i was growing up and thats was like my playground for 12 years
Holy crap this is crazy! And that storm is coming my way. Pray for the families who lost their loved ones. And pray for those still in the path of this storm!
Why were they not smart enough to cancel KNOWING that there was going to be bad weather today! Idiots! And my prayers goes out to ALL the families of the helpless people! It's very tragic
That is just terrible. I was just there a few days ago. It is a shame that people went there to have a good time and It ended in this. What a shame. I will pray for the families of those were lost and hope that everyone who was injured or a witness to the collapse may heal as well. So sad.
Just horrible. I am a union stagehand, and we worry about this all the time. Sadly it happens all too much. Be sure to look into the stage company's safety record. Too often, any schmoe with a loan from the bank and a semi truck can set up a stage. And yes, the stage is set two to three days ahead of time. Storms in our area can come up very quickly, and winds are unpredictable. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone in Indiana.
why dont we stop arguing about how they should have cancelled it. they couldn't have POSSIBLY known something so tragic could happen. stop being mad at the people running it and show some sympathy for the people hurt and who've lost their lives. everyone does die eventually, but they dont have to go in a horrible way such as this.
OMG! That is really sad to see, whether on video or with just your own two eyes. I even saw some pictures of the damage. One good thing I saw on them was all the people, possibly from the audience getting down there to help. Its great when people come together in time of need.
Something VERY similar to this happened in the city I live in when I was a student. I was in the building right overhead - a tiny stage in comparison but the video wall came down like a ton of bricks and only narrowly avoided killing the technicians on stage at the time by the slightest of margins. I can't understand why they even let anybody NEAR the stage if they knew winds were coming, they surely were checking on the forecast as any sensible event organiser should be doing regularly.
@christopherwoods Well generally you would think a stage like that COULD withstand a storm.... But I don't think they were expecting the 60-70 MPH winds that were reported... And from what I was told, they lasted for about 2 minutes or so... This is the danger with these outdoor arenas.... The mobile stages are quickly set up and they are setup in a way where they can be torn down quickly. For the most part, they are fairly strong, but not strong enough for strong winds.
WHAT THE HELL how do 67 like this, sick people people DIED there are some bitchy stuff in this world happening

why dont we stop arguing about how they should have cancelled it. they couldn't have POSSIBLY known something so tragic could happen. stop being mad at the people running it and show some sympathy for the people hurt and who've lost their lives. everyone does die eventually, but they dont have to go in a horrible way such as this.

I can't understand why they even let anybody NEAR the stage if they knew winds were coming, they surely were checking on the forecast as any sensible event organiser should be doing regularly.
christopherwoods 6 months ago
@christopherwoods Well generally you would think a stage like that COULD withstand a storm.... But I don't think they were expecting the 60-70 MPH winds that were reported... And from what I was told, they lasted for about 2 minutes or so... This is the danger with these outdoor arenas.... The mobile stages are quickly set up and they are setup in a way where they can be torn down quickly. For the most part, they are fairly strong, but not strong enough for strong winds.
