Great commercial! Love the dad and especially the son. Also love that clutter-free supermarket aisle. No display baskets that make each aisle an obstacle-course and an-accident-waiting-to-happen event. If father and child had been strolling down a real supermarket aisle, they would never have been able to stroll hand in hand. Ah, poetic license!
@Coastwizard01 Thanks for the vote of support. Lately Safeway has been issuing receipts with a survey website where you can try to win a $100 certificate. The survey contains a question about aisles and what is good or bad about them. Every time I fill out the survey I say these in-the-aisle displays are obstacles and that I never choose anything from them hoping that someday someone will get the message.
@TheShizue777 You wouldn't believe (or maybe you would) how many times I've been stuck in an aisle waiting for someone to find what they're looking for and move out of the way, and I couldn't get by because of one of those in-aisle displays! Often, lines build up on both sides of that shopper, so even when he/she moves, everybody has to wait their turn to pass the display. Sometimes I end up walking half the length of the store trying to find an aisle without one of those displays.
@Coastwizard01 I hear you. That's why I always make the comment about the aisles on that survey form. I've even been in the store and made the comment to an employee: "I wish you guys had a suggestion box because I would like to see these in-the-aisle displays go away." Maybe I'll print-screen these comments and send it off to my favorite Safeway's manager. Keep your fingers crossed!
@TheShizue777 Sounds like a great idea! If it helps, you can include my comment that I've NEVER bought anything that was on one of those in-aisle displays! Any interest I might have had in the product on display is completely obscured by my annoyance at the obstruction they cause!
@Coastwizard01 I will indeed. Turns out Safeway HQ is right here in the San Francisco Bay Area. It's over in Pleasanton and I'm in Novato. I'm going to drop a "snail mail" to CEO Steve Burd and enclose a print-screen of our exchange. Wouldn't hurt. I will suggest Safeway start a new marketing trend by uncluttering those aisles. What do you think? If I hear back from Mr. Burd, I'll report back to you via this video. Have a great weekend!
@lovesgreatart Well, I've been around for quite a while. I had 5 sites on MySpace, including ones on Poetry (The Bard on Avon), Cryptozoology (The Cryptozoologist), Christianity (Christian Answers), and Creation vs. Evolution (The Creationist). Unfortunately, although the sites are still there, since they changed their format, I no longer post on MySpace. I post videos on YouTube whenever I see a void or have something I feel is special and needs sharing. Thanks for your interest!
@77shawnh Thanks for taking the time to comment! Sorry it took me so long to check the comments on this video post. I will absolutely try to take the time to write the company. If that's not your own son in the video, he sure could be! There seems to be real father-son chemistry going on there. Great job!

My absolute favorite current commercial by far! Great team but that little guy is just adorable! Is it a robot? A jet plane?......
