i played this game on my ps1 i only had 2 cds and i almost cried when my cd shop closed

and after 9 years i got the game on my PSP ......i felt so nostalgic...... THIS game had it all

but they had to continue and destroy it .....WHY dont they just make FFIX-2

and make my characters go on an adventure again i want to see if VIVI is alive i want to feel like im in the game again.....i hope ill preserve my PSP so when my kid tells me what games i played ill just give him my PSP .......

I bought it on the PSN just so I can play and beat this game again.

It's about $10 on the Playstation Store if anyone wants to replay this/if you've never played it.

WHile I agree that most games nowadays focus on graphics rather than being fun and/or long, I liked FFX and XII. They were good games. But good JRPGs have definitely become more and more rare in Occident.

Not at all mr. Cookie Man, the game does indeed have one of the best graphics on PSOne, what I said was that it focused on gameplay and story, PLUS having nice graphics. For example FFXIII has one of the most beautiful environments I've ever seen in a game, but to achieve that the game areas that you can interact with is very limited.

a long time ago, i had this game, but it was defected... every time i played it, it stoped as the black waltz nº3 fight... i was too young to read, or understand the story of the game... but i played it over and over again, with the initial weapons, ans initial skills just because it's so awesome...

Final Fantasy IX will always be better than VII and VIII. I didn't jump on the series bandwagon like everyone else did when Final Fantasy VII came out. I was there from the beginning Final Fantasy I (1990) and Final Fantasy VI was the reason I bought Final Fantasy VII back in 1997. Great now I feel old.

Apparently the are coming out with or have already FF13-2 which they say "supposedly" has better RPG game play like the originals FF4,5,6,7,8,9,10,12. However last time we had a part two like X-2 there we no summonings >< . The FF13-2 Demo is out now. Lets hope this new one brings us back to the time when we could call FINAL FANTASY a legend. Final Fantasy IX....For me has the most well develped story. The characters potray true emotions. The scenery draws you in and makes you feel part of a larger world. My favorite FF Game is FFX, but when i hear or think about FFIX i cant help remember each characters story as an individual story. such a great game.

@zBlank11 Although the game s set in a future date, it was more of those barren type of future were technology destroyed everything deal. I like those types of futures, not like FFXIII were its like "smooth" surface future and flying cars huge city's filled with building lights. I hoe the world ends like this "Tech Warfare" so we can weild swords! And hold a quest, who wants to be in my party?

so many good memories :) being 6 years old again, just coming back home at 15:30 after school, spending the rest of the day playing this final fantasy, koudelka, gran turismo, tomb raider, etc... and then going to my windows 98 pc surfing the good old web and playing some more games... those times will be with me until i die!

@Doc13041 IF emulators were legal I'd tell you to download epsxe online and then youtube how to set it up. and IF torrents were legal I'd suggest finding an eboot and then extracting an iso from some program that i might name icetea or something. but that's all just me, because it's not legal.
