Is there a way to set keyframes for the value of an effect in real time? For example, I would like to have the motion sketch be just an up and down. That way I could have the contrast go up and down and have it recorded as keyframes.

BTW... Whats the main difference between Motion sketch and Smoother other than less keyframes?

@Caramenne Motion Sketch allows you to create a motion path for the object using your mouse pointer. The Smoother simply reduces the number of keyframes created after the use of the Motion sketch tool.

@Caramenne Aww haha no worries.. you can use something simpler like Windows Movie Maker if you must.. i think a majority of people on the internet use WMM.. After Effects is for more advanced graphics and effects, though it's not that complicated really, you just need to get used to the layout, toolbars and the buttons :)

I love your tutorials, but wouldn't all of this be easier in Flash? I'm a little more experienced in that, but I thought After Effects was best for after you edited a movie in Premiere or Vegas and wanted to add very specific effects to it. But your tutorials are very helpful.

You have probably followed all NewBoston's tutorials and you have selected the 3D option (with the X rotation - watch the Rotating animation tutorial). If you now deselect the 3D rotating option (the little 3D box) you'll be able to start capturing!

I think this solves your problem.

if you dont know what to put there, in good english structure, then just transcribe the whole tutorial video there.

you'd really be doing yourslef a favor if you grouped your videos in playlist, so the playlist is in chronological order, to the right of the video, and on top of that, you can cluster ALL your combined playlists on your youtube page by enabling (in acct settings) view playlist on youtube profile. Not to mention, youre hurting your views by not including good keyword based description boxes, like for instance,

I wish your videos were 8-10 minutes so I dont have to keep changing videos. You could get three of your videos into one vidoe. Its a waste of time to keep clicking to the next one. Whats wrong? Cant figure out how to reduce the file size. Have you tried MediaCodec? I use it for that and transcoding. If you dont know about it. Its great. You could do a tutorial on that too.
