Without affordable health coverage people put off seeing a doctor until they end up in the emergency room. Yes, they receive care, but in an inefficient way that costs you and me more as hospitals and insurance companies shift their costs onto us. Don't you think there must be a better (and cheaper) way to have people get the care they need at the time they need it and leave the emergency room for the emergencies that can't be otherwise avoided?
These are health care workers, nurses, and nurse aides who are providing primary care to families and children in our hospitals and emergency rooms.
They are coming to these rallies on their own time (with their families) to let elected officials know that if they would spend just one day doing what they do every day they would understand better the health care crisis America's families are facing.
BTW, I can't walk a day in your shoes sign holdiong fool, I am too busy actually working 7 days a week to pay for the government freebies you already are getting.
I guess I could try to work 8 days a week so I can pay for your health care as well. Federal law already prtohibits ANYONE from being turned away in an emergency regardless of ability to pay...want more? pay for it.
We all collectively pay MORE for the health care system today than if we actually had coverage for everybody. That's just dumb.
