Hi Uxwbill, i have been watching your videos for a long time and i enjoy them but i had such a old relic of a computer that everytime i tried to comment or do anything but watch a movie it'd freeze, well now i have a new toshiba laptop with a core i7 processor, but i wanted to ask how large are your shop dimensions as it looks like it might be big enough to consider when i build my workshop, and are the ceilings tall enough to install a 2 post car lift? thank you!
Yeah...I'm pretty much doing what I can, as time and finances allow. I won't say that I'd like to have more money than I do--because I'd rather be happy than wealthy and don't care all that much--yet it does have to be said that this would go faster if I did!
Doing very well on this uxwbill. Just a daft future prospect, will you, in the far future once everything else is done, put a ceiling on the garage above the lights to hide all the wiring? Probably the last thing on the list I know but just curious.
@LucMathlin I've had a Sony HDR-HC7 for a few months now. I'm not going to make all of my videos in HD though. It looks nice, no doubt, but it takes far too long to upload and process them. I only used it for this video because I've misplaced the DCR-TRV280 that I usually use!
@flipflop595 The circuit is protected by a 20 amp breaker and 12/2 wiring was run. It will be a long, long time before there is anything to say about the underfloor heating.
should fit a new valve cap on that a/c or it may pull some air in. looks like the low side and in winter it will pull a vacuum. wiring is fun. dam its been hot hear 40'c and over. its 25'c ATM and its 12am. good vid good job and happy new year.
@V8Jagnut Yep...I'm not sure why the Keykeeper didn't put it back. Maybe he never had the cap for the A/C system...it's hard to tell on a car with that many miles and previous owners. I've mentioned it to him, just in case he forgot to put it back.
@itscool1968 We had some ventilation going while the heater was operating. It was very windy outside when this was recorded. Some of that wind was definitely blowing through the place.
Also my Holden wagon did the same thing with the idler pulley couple of years back. In fact it looks like an almost identical idler assembly for that engine. Only thing is. The Holdens has the belt at the front and when the pulley locked up it launched off and partly went through the radiator! wasnt pretty!
Nice work on the outlets too. Got to get round to doing that in my garrage
While I don't know exactly what car you have, it is my understanding that some Holden cars utilized the GM 3800 V6 in an RWD setup. If yours does, then the idler would have had no problem damaging the radiator!
I'm going to have to make a video at some point of what I believe to be our late 80's/early 90's Stanley door opener.
About 10 different remote thingys later, the thing still works quite well, and would probably be better if the chain drive were oiled (it's getting squeaky).
Horray! Another 1080p video from uxwbill! Give me that snow...where I live, it only shows in March! Yep I'd love an automatic garage door opener, but I have a carport which is totally open, no doors on it
Were did you buy fur head? ebay, craigslist?

@Samthebam4044 It's very likely that I will do something like that. I think it would greatly improve the amount of usable light in the room.

I wonder if that's bizzarefurhead's Bizarre Fur Hat.

Is your new years resolution to complete the garage? :p
eliw4232 1 month ago
@eliw4232 I don't usually make too many, because I find myself looking back at the end of the year and feeling bad about how little I got done!
I haven't yet given up on beauty sleep though.

You didn't allow bizzarefurheadalien to actually wire the outlets did you? .....

@weasel2htm Nah, I did that myself. No sense in having to rename him (warning, move all drinks and food away from the computer!) "Bzzzzrtfurhead".

The weather this year is just plain depressing. Haven't even had enough snow to cover the grass.

@giberish9 I want more snow, that is for sure.

That underfloor heating is going to be great when you get it finished. There's nothing colder than a concrete floor in the wintertime.

@uxwbill Kerosene heaters, if they're running properly burn really cleanly so you don't need a whole bunch of ventilation anyway.

@itscool1968 As the old saying goes, I was deep in thought and it was unfamiliar territory.
I'm actually staring at a Magsafe power connector in the picture. Despite my serious expression, I thought the picture amusing at the time I took it.
