  • Karate is such bull shit you know you will get hit if you try to fight in close range attacks.I just use pepper spray,so the attacker wont get close to me. Karate rules sucks

  • @beersmash1 This is taekwondo, not karate. And what do you do if you don't have pepper spray?

  • Also in karate I have learned to never go backwards. You go sideways or forward. You dont wanna get kicked move in so close that they are unable to move their leg up to kick.

  • @REDMARS2112

He is doing a simple and a very effective counter against someone who will commit to only one kick. Yes you can move in, and that's called clinching which just shuts down the kick. You can do many things when your opponent attacks and skipping back to be just out of his reach can be frustrating to him/her.

  • @WisemanRAX On average i'd just go to the side instead of backwards. I guess thats just part of my muscle memory. I really cant complain for the fact that this is a diffrent style of martial arts. Oh well.

  • I do karate. We learned to spar by experience. I went from holding my arms together like an idiot (In a vertical-horizontal possision) to just holding up my fists in possisions so that I may block and counter when necsesary.

  • Awesome!

  • TKD kicks can be used to hit low on the body also. Front kick to the groin or side kick to knee, does this work? I think so ! p.s. there are punches in TKD also.

  • I love that stuff.

  • I'm sick and tired of people always saying tkd sucks, it all depends on how good the instructor was in teaching. "tkd not useful in a fight", I don't think so let's put someone who's been in it against another fighter. All the McDojos out there are what's making tkd look bad...

  • You release much more energy and hit much harder with sound effects.

  • It does not suck, it is an awesome sport, and makes you very strong!

  • Taekwondo is all kicks. Its not really that useful unless you can somehow land one to the face which is pretty hard. Im more of a fan of Kenpo

  • sucks

  • Real case senario: Somebody tries to round house kick you, close in. Pretty much defenseless.

  • Is it just me, or do these guys look really unprofessional and sloppy. :P My Tae Kwon Do School is a lot more professional than this.

  • @DaCritic324 The guy teaching the techniques is Grand Master Sang H. Kim one of the most respect Tae Kwond do teachers and practitioners in the world. He has been featured in magazines and newspapers including Black Belt, Taekwondo times, Taekwondo People, WTF Magazine, Combat, Fighter’s Magazine-UK, Donga Newspaper-Seoul, The New York Times and 90 more publications.

  • @DaCritic324 It isn't just you...I have the same feeling....

  • Respond to this video... There is no real interception...just moving back and forth in a very impractical way.

  • @andl2eww it is a round kick. Had he spun around, it would've been an inside crescent kick, except for the direction of his foot. He wasn't pulling his knee back very far, which adds power, most likely because it was a demonstration.

  • the fuuuuck, thats not a round house?

  • i did fight with a Martial Artist And he Was MYYY Sensi And HELL it was f0ckin f0n lol hahaha

  • simple is right, thats the basic of the basic. plus in boxing they would tell you to move to the side beacause chances are your enemy will punch you in the face right after.

  • @Jersm5 well a roundhouse sweeps from one side to the other so dodging to the side would do absolutely nothing....

  • @fullmetal891 he did not do a round house here and if the person did a pounch right after he would have connected. beacause the teacher went back and you know where he will be hes still in the line of attack. for this kick or a round house another option is to jump to the kickers left side passing their knee or just about while moving in. this will reduce impact beacause you pass his knee and moving forward so you can over hook their leg with your left arm. then you can sweep or punch them.

  • i really hate those popups on the videos,i used to be able to click them away, but recently they have changed it,it appears no matter how many times u close it those popups would appear at the end of the video, over and over again ,DOWN WITH YOUTUBE

  • 1 Question Had Anyone In Here Ever Uses Martial Arts In A REAL I Mean In A REALLLL PHYSICAL FIGHT?!?!?!

  • @Xguy890 yes i have many times, go fight a martial artists and see what happens, even one that doesnt know much should be able to beat you

  • @fullmetal891 i did fight with a Martial Artist And He Was My Sensei My Teacher i Went To Sparr With Him And He Does HIT Hard....

  • what i do is as they do their roundhouse, i spin towards the kick, my arm blocking it, and then i get the opponent in the face with a spinning hook kick. it works very well.

  • i would want to see taekwondo on mma,not saying i prefer mma then traditional martial arts but taekwondo people are so cocky fuck them lil korean dicks

  • @choyleefutkid1 check anderson silva. He is black belt in taekwondo.

  • Always keep you arms up protecting your chest and your face.

  • Best way to counter...TAKE HIM DOWN!!!

  • dope

  • best master ever i love s.k. taekwondo

  • best master ever i love s.k. taekwondo

  • how about grab his leg take him down and ground and pound

  • @itinkgirlzhot12 this is taekwondo not mma

  • i prefer the Hadouken

  • thank you, i learn more and more : )

  • Move out the way? No shit??

  • @CplusplusCronus Hey idiot.. he's teaching them to not move out of the way too far otherwise you miss your opportunity to strike back and get points.

  • @CplusplusCronus LMFAO

  • @CplusplusCronus its the distance he moves out of the way.. smart ass

  • @CplusplusCronus yes move out of the way with the thoughts of counter striking back

  • @CplusplusCronus He did say simple technique, did he not? =P

  • CHUCK NORRIS!

  • LOL.. Huh....A-HOAU!! The sound effects make it alot better.

  • nice

  • I concur w/ ZEN824. Beautiful stance!

  • beautiful footwork from Master Sang H. Kim.

  • Pity they don't show you how to protect your face - it's wide open the whole time.

  • man you don't know what's that mean of that open on the face. it's like fooling in taekwondo. when you think that it's open but it will suddenly close. if you punch to the face you are fooled. they are good at dodging. they will step back and land some kick to your shit. so you have been fooled by a taekwondo game. if they has a good mood, they will not hit you in the shit they will just let you carry you own strike momentum.

  • Not exactly.....coz in any martial art it is very risky to leave your face open...Opponent doesn't necesserily have to attack with a full punch on the face.....If u see any of Bruce lee video u'll see they way he quickly attacks on the face......and doesn't matter whether big or small....Every hit matters.

  • yes every hits matters but every hit or attack is as weak as it's defense. so every attack has a weak spot. i don't really protect my head really much when it is not close enough. but i don't bounce swear god i don't bounce because it looks like a bunny. when you going to get hit in the face, you will have this strange feeling making your head dodge it naturally. so what the point of changing the natural to the unnatural.

  • when you're like this, it is like MT person that attack the strong area not the weak one. taekwondo is all about stopping a fight by harming the opponent with not harming himself. if you see how MT guys vs MT guy you will see it will be really stiff. In boxing they don't just fight like this they have another way which attacking the weak. in ITF Taekwondo, it like brawl but not most fighter in ITF brawl. In kung fu, it is just movie story. it is fun to watch but kung fu is just good for nothing.

  • @ZEN824

im sorry, but you couldnt be more wrong

  • gr8

  • owsom

  • Damn

  • Absolutely AWESOME!!! Thx. I was trained by a Korean and I just love to see the speed and strength these guys have. They make it look soooo easy. When you spar these guys you DONT see anything coming and then your meat!

  • beautifull!!

  • now I know where my master got his kihap. From great instructors like Sang H. KIm, haha

  • slide back sometimes does not work well when your oppenent is doing chasing kicks though

  • sang h. kim freakin owns.

  • Hmm... Interesting. But this counterattack occurs when the opponent is kicking your back. I'd let him kick my elbow instead =)

  • You can use this counter to back or front, does not matter. You will only kick the elbow if you do not turn over all the way.

This is a basic Pada Chugi counter. If you don't have this then you don't understand this game.

  • But you won't score a point if you kick the back, no? Isn't he teaching WTF sparring?

  • The back has been a valid scoring area for a few years now. Yes you will score with kicks to the back.

  • His kihap reminds me of my Grand Master at the end.

  • Good yes but with a back-leg kick you can see it coming a mile way. first punch then kick because it will mask the movement of the long round-kick.

  • This is great, where can I see more of this? where does this guy instruct?

  • @hwarang30 Master Kim is retired from teaching but you can see many more of his instructional and seminar videos by clicking on our channel/user name

  • this guy without a chest protector was trained in korea by my tkd teacher.

  • lovely indeed

  • lovely
