There is a lot of new stuff stuck in my noggin' just waiting to get out. Alas, my busy schedule means it will be trickling out slowly for the time to come.
Just curious about the issues you ran into in trying to pull a good mold for casting. Could you explain a little more detail on the issue you had with the mold? I am in the middle of making some similar molds for a Tau bastion defensive wall.
To be honest, I'm not entirely sure what the problem was. The walls would cast with a wavy outer surface that really defeated the look of brick. I tried casting with denser expanding foam as well to no avail. The mold walls might have been too thin to hold their shape, but they were contained in a mother mold so I thought it would be ok. Beefing up the entire mold thickness might be the fix.
If the 24 inch measurement is important to the game (I don't play it so I don't know) you could add a painted circle of the correct dimensions. It could be roughly painted like it was laid in chalk or alternately colored stones or something that get kicked out of the way with use.
I thought about it and omitted it early on once I saw how much work was going to be involved in the project over all. It could be added however in future iterations.
i hav to agree with you bootlegpaint. if only i could get inside your head mike, learn some of your secrets.

you should make a giant ROMAN arena with like spectator seating and lion cages in the floor and make it like $500

awesome work!!!!!! I really like it! so, how much is this arena?

Its a bit pricey due to the large amount of man hours and cost of materials (mainly the plastic for the outer walls). I could recreate it for $325.

I think it looks fabulous.

Interesting idea. Thanks.

I believe too it's a good idea!
I'd also put my penny in suggesting a cool addition to the arena: a wooden fence around the top circle...

Oh, checked the rules and size can vary. This size works well as it is midsized for various model counts. (Can go as big as 30" 30" square)
