A bit disappointing (and is this the only case?) if Noam indeed added some of his own flavor to the mix, but I guess it would be nice to know he'd be human after all. Doesn't change the big picture plus this is somewhat of a nitpicking but I was kinda used to the fact that he is superhumanly sharp (= flawless) with his facts and doesn't take any "liberties" from the truth.
@ilmarinen79 Aparrently Bush offered the Chinese Premier dinner at Camp David instead of the White House but the Premier refused and maybe left for Saudi Arabia earlier than planned.
Well. I'm a bit puzzled. At 1:40 he says: "...He returned the insult very cordially by leaving from United States and flying to Saudi-Arabia. A real slap in the face to Washington and a serious one, much more serious than a state dinner...". Well, for some reason I got interested in this and found the trip schedule after some googling around. You'll find the trip to S-A is announced beforehand, so it's not a reaction/revenge to US antics as Chomsky tries to convey...
This portion of the video is...quite honestly...scary from a US citizen point of view. Chomsky has the ability to jam pack the facts into a small amount of time and really open your eyes. I fear for the future of this country.
Well as a Canadian, I wouldn't say that you need to fear the future of the U.S. Short-term, yes, not much will be done, just look at Obama. The populace wanted the public option in the healthcare, and even Obama was for it, now he said he never was for it.
FDR and Lyndon B Johnson (following JFK) were willing to implement policies of the populace and hence they were great Presidents. Today, the populace is losing its voice.
In long-term though, people always find a way to make it work.
@passenger9411 You guyz should be scared. Ur leaders r blood thirsty war mongers which the world over hates. Sadly, ur ppl r naive (dumbed down deliberately - no offense intended :) and it will get MUCH worse and very soon - at a very high price. Have u seen the FEMA camps? wonder what its for? US citizens who oppose the govts!
You can add Paraguay to the list of Latin American countries the US doesn't approve of! This government really hates democracy even though they shoot it out their filthy ass lips every fuckin' day!

That's the funniest thing I've heard Chomsky say, 'they've even succeeded in alienating Canada and that takes real talent'. Brilliant!
