Well if the camera man had NOT missed the action one would not have seen anything anyway because the potato this was filmed with had a way too low resolution.
NO real torque on the 'S' for a possible power steer option out. All that is left is pitch right if you can and countersteer like crazy until clear. Next time try and stay firmly on the roadway and avoid those pesky highway apron detours that can lead to a classic oversteer spinout like this one. I swear I just have to THINK 'turn here', and constantly remain looking in the direction of travel preferred, and she obeys without question or unease. Like a obedient sexy genii, YES MASTER!
Personally, I've owned my S over a year and have NEVER put myself in the situation you see in this video. Looks like a case of balls being bigger than brains.
kids+S2000= death and or serious injury. The car was built and designed for ADULTS who can actually drive. The car was not designed for puberty mice who think because they played Gran Tourismo on the PS, they can jump right into sportscar and drive it perfectly. There should be qualification driving tests before Honda is allowed to sell the S2000-- its easy..when people can't drive the S, they wrap em around telephone poles and drive em into ditches. DONT BUY THE CAR IS YA CANT DRIVE IT.
It's not young people, its people that don't know how to deel with a bit of oversteer, I have 20 years and have been sideways in my dads s2000 and deal with it. My dad crashed it twice(busted rims)
@ScorpiosRevenge1 it seems you dont understand i havent had any problems my dad has but he does not know how to deel with oversteer you cant slam the brakes you have to control it thats all
it is widly accepted that the S2000 is simply a tempermantal/unforgiving car to drive. It doesnt have as much to do with youth then it does simple driving experience...some of the best drivers I have ever met are under 20 yrs old.
FLABBOY... I don't care what's widely accepted. If ya can't drive, ya can't drive.. S2000 or not.... The S, AP1, actually takes a real driver to operate her correctly. This car IS NOT tempermental for every driver... just those who have no fkn clue what they are doing.
@ScorpiosRevenge1 LOL congrads, you just contradicted yourself about 5 times in only a few sentinces! nicely done! the S2000 iseither a tempermental car or not? make up your mind on your opinion then tell me. I
Many experienced reviews have labeled it tempermental, that doesnt mean that it is dangerous, but harder to drive then say an R33 skyline (which, by the way if this guy was driving the accident likely would not have happened)
Despite whether or not he hit the brakes mid-corner, no driver could have controlled the car at that speed on that double bend without preparing for it first. He was doomed before he even entered it. Preparation is the key to car control, this is just mindless driving. He just puts his foot the floor without any consideration for the turn ahead. No planning, no preparation, no braking and no positioning just go for it and hope for the best. Lucky he didn't kill himself or someone else.
@flabbyhoy, hehe so true, or even a Lancer Evo mind. The new top specced GT-R is silly quick mind, too much for this tool even with all the driver aids in the world.
I gave a new GT-R a run on long A-road recently, I had a decent headstart on him as well and this guy was glued to my bumper, i was reaching 140mph and checked the rear view and he was less than a foot away, his bonnet was rising and falling as he had to keep coming off the gas not to hit me:) Awe inspiring power.
hahaha ya the new GTR is amazing (the one that nobody can afford), but i was referring to the older R32, or r33. they are just built for guys like this!
In that case I agree totally! :) I was in my tuned Volvo 850R. It's pushing 300bhp and over 450NM of torque and has had a little weight reduction. I have to say I've never been bullied quite so hard by anything on the road. Scary fast.
next tim u have your girl recording sumthing tell her to keep the camera on the exciting stuff so we can c what the fuck really happend damn nobody wants to c your hand we want to c the crashing car shit man it common sence lol
hey heihachi77 you obviously dont have any idea what you are talking about. If you have EVER been envolved in ANY car orginization like SCCA at any autocross events the s2k out handles sooooo many cars. I saw an earlier post of yours. sayin evos are better. well the evos and stis do terrible they push in every corner the only way they can do well is if you spend mad money on camber plates.all in all, heihachi77 doesnt know what the fuck he is talking about ps look at SCCA autox national results
Bad filming!!! that's what happens when you let woman to handle the camera, especially on the road. Next time, tie the camera on your rollbar or on the dashboard.
yep "darrinjeffrieskilla" ur right. To add to that, they are suppose to go faster on exiting the turn just after an apex. You don't just drive the car fast. LOL. But, poor s2k and hope the driver is ok.
Ouch! My friend crashed his through a hedge, he was fine, this one looks a bit worse. Hope they are ok. Once rebuilt we tried to simulate my friends crash on an airfield. We found very sudden lift off oversteer when at high revs. It is catchable, but requires very quick reactions and plenty of space. Not much space on this road!
The mountain wins again. That was pretty raunchy sounding when he hit those trees and what not. I Hope he was okay. A noob totalling their car is funny, but even a noob doesn't deserve to get hurt.

its cuz it was a fuckin honda, god just doesnt seem to like em too much... and a lot of it was probably cuz it was a shitty driver also. that seems to be the other deal with hondas.. don't see many vids of wrecked cobras. lol
Lucky he didnt get killed. Friend of mine took a corner like that bolting from the cops, slid off the road to the right, busted through a telephone pole, the car flipped and slid 25 feet on its side then rolled over. He is no longer with us. He also had a S2000. RIP E.P.H
A natural response for a sane person watching a car (with your buddy in it) fall off the mountian right in front of you would normally be "OMG" because this is no video game, it's for real. I've seen many crashes in the mountains, and none of them are for jokes.. unless the driver is joking about his crash as something honorable
When you just saw your friend flip upside down into a ditch in front of you, your first thought is not "HONEY KEEP ROLLING THE FILM, WE GOTTA FILM HOW BAD THE WRECK IS FOR EVERYBODY IN THE WORLD TO SEE!"
fair enough to throttle to balance the oversteer, but on a narrow road like that with on coming traffic. You would end up sideways but you need some leeway to straighten up
The guy was a fool driving like that on public roads even before he crashed.
@N4TECguy actually... the best thing is to EASE into the breaks so that front wheels dont loose traction n use NO gas.... if you cant ease brakes then just coast round corner....

hard breaking shifts wieght and can cause loss of grip on stearing wheels meanin car could understear OR overstear.... but it dm! it happened and no amount of argueing over internet will change history :P lol i probs woulda done the same as him tbh
@wildin13 It's an S2K. What torque does it have to spin the back wheels and make it lose control while accelerating. It was a noob driving mistake. That's all.
@Prototypexl It's an S2K, You lift the gas/brake on in a turn and speed and the weight transfers off the rear wheels causing the rear toe to change and slide out, causing loss of control
@wadecarriez If he hits his brakes while his rear tires have lost traction, it's gonna make the spin worse. It's best to either get on the clutch and countersteer or try to powerslide it. xD
@N4TECguy Er, in a RWD car?! That's not what I was taught. In FWD definitely gas rather than brake, but not RWD. Snap oversteer is often so quick you don't have time to do anything - I know cos I've spun mine
More gas would have kept his suspension loaded = better road grip. Since the driver braked; the suspension let up (unloaded) and the car lost the traction.
