  • @chronic9292 Dude. You are stupid. Blink is my favourite band, but Travis is only building on techiques that BONHAM INVENTED.

  • Is this digitally isolated or is the just Bonham rehearsing on his own? I can't tell if I can hear faint vocal bleeds or not.

  • @mapscannotcontainme This is the actual drum track from Fool In The Rain.

  • really babba quality though.is this upload straight from your crappy phone?

  • FAWKING 'ELL.

  • Sounds like Bernard Purdie

  • Sorry all you power punk fans. Travis is a good drummer, but you cannot say that Travis is better than the Master. Bonham's touch, sound, and feel is unmistakable, and one can only hope to attain that level of skill. Deal with it.

  • Fockin' hELL!!! Glorious.

  • this is perfect

  • Fucking 'ell !

  • Awesomeness-ness. There's no sneaking up on that buzz roll at the end is there? Blam!!!! If only it was another :30 longer...Bonham is the best, hands down.

  • This is the longest version that I've heard...is there a full version out there?

  • John Bonham+opening to When Levee Breaks... nuff said.

  • @chronic9292 FUCK YOU BITCH BONHAM INVENTED FUCKING ROCK DRUMMING

  • @MLplayer78 keith moon actually man, moon was definitaly the creator of drumming, but bonham is still a god in my book, sense of groove was totally un-matched

  • @jaqua524 true to some extent, but the who had nowhere near the exposure on either side of the pound that zep did thus Bonham became in influence for most likely millions of drummers

  • @MLplayer78 i also think keith would have been known more as a drummer, if it wasnt for is rediculous personality...if he was calm, he would have gotten a lot more credit for his drumming, but what i am saying, no moon, no bonham, no peart, no guys stealing the stage, before moon, the drummer was just someone in the backround, keith revolutionized drumming, he invented rock drumming, bonham used his own style, and built upon it

  • @jaqua524 yep. they all had a part in shaping the personality and sound of what we know in this generation as drumming. i only wish that this generation understood/embraced the notion of 4 to 5 people getting together and making music. not being spoon-fed bullshit "artists" created by the media

  • @MLplayer78 totally agree man, holy shit totally agree

  • YOU WANT TO HEAR A GOOD DRUMMER?!!! TRAVIS BARKER!!! he hits much harder and is much more versatile than bonham!!!!

  • @chronic9292 combared to bonham, travis barker is a woodchopper!

  • @chronic9292 What crack are you smoking? Barker's not nearly as groundbreaking nor did he indelibly change the face of drumming, he didn't even shape the sound of Blink, while Bonham shaped Zeppelin.

The only way you're forgiven for an ignorant comment like that is if you are NOT a drummer!

  • @chronic9292 You're such a dick it actually hurts my face

  • @chronic9292 LMAO

  • @chronic9292 your a fucking retard

  • @chronic9292 versatile? go listen to zeppelin 1-4, in through the out door, coda. barker plays the same paradiddle and roll shit in almost every song. and hitting hard doesnt amount to shit

  • @millertime1089 Zeppelin 1-4 is quite a bit to cover. Hmm, Stairway? Now there's some unique technique on snare. Misty Mtn. Hop? How many ways can a hi-hat be hit? Why skip over Physical Graffiti? Well then because you'd have to consider songs like In My Time Of Dying. The Crunge is pretty funky. Pretty sure he's played in 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,12. They do change time a lot (did). Of all the things to argue you pick versatility.

  • @stersnevet77 actually i think youre right lol i could have just said physical graffiti, but at the same time to me it stands alone. where the rest are a progression in style to the end result which is: physical graffiti. i wouldnt say versatility though, i believe he wrote those beats himself, that being said- hes simply a well rounded drummer. in more styles than most any 2 or 3 that are currently playing. whether this is because jimmy likeas to dabble in a bit of everything.. well, who knows.

  • @millertime1089 you are suggesting barker is better than bonham?

  • @jaqua524 no, you dumbass. im saying barker aint got shit on bonham. chronic9292 is saying barker is better than bonham. please pay attention to whos posting what. moron.

  • @millertime1089 oh, you meant that barker plays the same thing in every song, I thought you meant that barker plays the same thing as bonham? and my friend, the way you typed, it sounded very much like you were saying that barker played the same stuff as bonham. So, dumbass, get your head out of your ass, and learn proper sentence structure and phrase structure yourself before attacking someone else's intelligence, you my friend, are a fucking idiot.

  • @chronic9292 compared to bonham, travis barker hits the drums like a pussy, and he is about as versatile as a parapalegic without any limbs.. I'm sorry for the cruel referece, but it's the truth...

  • @chronic9292 ahahahahahahahahahahah

  • @StickFunk i agree, BONHAM IS A FUC*ING BEAST. NO ONE BEATS BONZO!

  • @chronic9292 yeah, yeah, so said the Grammy winner drummer... loser.

  • @chronic9292 If you don't understand why bonham is so great, you're not a real musician

  • @chronic9292 your a moron. go die, bitch

  • @chronic9292 you arent a musician then are you..

  • @chronic9292 hahahhahahahahahahahahahahhahhaha

  • so Hilerious xD n such a sick Beat love shuffle beats soo much, he seemed soo drunk xD or he forgot what came after 1 for a short moment ;P

  • Is that little bit of the song in there what's coming through his headphones?

  • @jacosmith86 i also Hear it :D , must be

  • this drum beat is so sick

  • ...and the beast was released once again

  • this is like. perfect

  • Love how the vid ends at my favorite part.

    Dx

    Excellent, nonetheless.

  • fahhhking hell! LOL gotta love Bonzo!

  • @jeffkahl he was probably drunk :(

  • @beatcrazy14 Eh maybe not, did you hear (I think it was) Plant in the back go "What the hell's going on?!" I could be wrong lol

  • its ok ..but a little repetitive.

  • Isolated Drum Track

  • @jay112273 thats the groove u idiot

  • @sonnyreddevil69 no shit sherlock

  • @JayBennett1973 well u can fuckoff lol

  • @sonnyreddevil69 right after you blow me lol

  • hammergod that is an awesome speech.....except the part about Terry, Bozo, and Hal. Nobody knows who you're talking about. Or gives a flying fuck.

  • @straitouttahellify maybe you should look them up and get a little educated instead of being a dick

  • Since the era of Rock began (that includes even the earliest Rich, Krupa, Nelson etc contributions because they were the guys who added focus on the beat) there have been about 20 Drummers who lived in the Stratosphere.

Bonham, Moon, Starr and Peart lead the crowd.

    BUT

There are an amazing number of "Studio" Drummers (hard workers who show up for the sessions ready to lay down excellent tracks) who never get much attention and I wish they would.

Terry Bozzio, Hal Blaine, Jeff Porcaro and more.

  • @hammerogod you are absolutely right, especially all the work that Jeff Pocaro did with Pink Floyd, and to this day noone will say which tracks he layed down.

  • @hammerogod Bozzio and Porcaro kill it!!!!! I am a big Jeff Porcaro fan!!!!! I know he has passed, but his work was perfection!!!!!

  • Great track! Any idea where the rest of it can be found?

  • This is a nice drum track, but I always thought Bonham's heavy drums dragged Zep down in their lighter tracks (like this). I would have given a lot to hear a more subtle drummer like Stewart Copeland play drums on a song like this. Can you imagine how he would have rocked it?

  • @metastasisman Zeppelin wouldn't be Zeppelin without Bonzo. Copeland would've ruined the song, even though he is a great player.

  • This is actually classic reggae drumming... (stress on the third beat). With a bit of samba in the middle.

  • @rugfoot bonzo shuffle man...

  • This is actually classic reggae drumming... (stress on the third beat)

  • @rugfoot Actually, it's not reggae at all. This groove is a halftime shuffle. Just because it has a stressed third beat doesn't mean it's reggae. This groove is coined as "The Bonham Shuffle'; it's Bonzo's interpretation of the Purdie shuffle.

  • I think a lot of people know this is a Bernard Purdie shuffle. But Bonham took it to another level. The sound of his kit and the rock feel he gives this shuffle are in a class by itself.

  • @nitedrive in a class by themselves, I mean...

  • For anyone with where this beat comes from, look up "Purdie shuffle". Bonham plays it brilliantly though.

  • @mrsummerseve as mentioned before, I wouldn't say he plays the Purdie shuffle, more like his own interpration

  • @bamwow09 Absolutely - he puts more drive behind it and of course plays his own unique fills; Purdie's version is more laid back. Still, good to point it out once in a while so folks can check out how styles evolve.

  • @bamwow09 I saw in a Porcaro Interview that he actually mixed Bernard's shuffle with Bonham's. I agree with you that he created this, obviously ripping from someone things.

  • oh YEAH!

  • I havn't heard this song and I love this. :)

  • Creative playing.

  • @Svatopluk Not really, it's based on a beat that Bernard Purdie created.

  • A legend without a doubt!

  • how cool is this??!!!!!
