The camera angle is silly. This needs to be shot from a top view. More camera time on the pan rather than the chef - beautiful as she may be would have helped viewers more.
@randomid1979 Thanks for your feedback! We are working on more great cooking videos and value comments like these to help our viewers get the most from our recipes. Certainly more food time and less face time is in our strategy. Colleen Tully, web food editor, Canadian Living
@cr85racer13 Coating a NON STICK pan with ENOUGH butter (a tablespoon) is the trick. Drag the COOKED part of the egg edge-to-center. Shake/swirl/tip the pan. Shake the shit out of it if you have to. You're trying to get the top, UNCOOKED egg onto the EXPOSED PARTS of the pan. When the the top is only a little runny (1:55 in this video) stop fucking with it. Add cheese. Fold the omelette IN THE PAN. Move it to the lip of the pan. INVERT THE ENTIRE PAN over a plate so the underside faces up.
why do they NEVER TALK ABOUT THE HEAT IN THESE VIDEOS
its easily one of the MOST IMPORTANT PARTS OF THE PROCESS, AND NOBODY TALKS ABOUT FKING HEAT SETTINGS for fucks sake
every person who has made a video on youtube about any type of egg cooking process, omeletes, scrambled, over easy, WHATEVER, who DOESNT EVEN MENTION HEAT SETTINGS, should have their youtube accounts rovoked and should be punched in the throat
here guys, lets make this prime rib. just put it in the oven AND ITS DONE
@mbanker21 Sorry to have upset you. The video recipe says to set your burner to medium-high heat. I prefer a 6/10 on my dial to make a slightly golden omelette, allowing the toppings to warm and cheese to melt slowly and ooze everywhere.
yuck-i will pass on that omelete. Should be a drop of milk not water or cream and sliding the egg in the pan should not be needed if you make a 2 egger and 2 eggs should be enough. Omeletes are great anytime of the day for sure and you can add whatever takes your fancy
Best one yet. I haven't made an omelete for years, started again, made a couple of nice onces, then I drew a blank and couldn't remember what I did. Thanks for getting my 75 year old brain out of freeze.
because... it's assumed you can only eat omelette's for breakfast, but you can also eat them for lunch/dinner... I've had roast beef omelette before, you guys have no creativity. The canadian living magazine is great.
Agreed @ fauximaginaton. Of course, I regularly make myself eggs, pancakes and all sorts of breakfast foods for dinner, since I hardly ever get the chance to actually have a good breakfast.
Luccccyyyyy...bet come learn this 'cause I'm just watching because of the hostess!

Incidentally, at what temperature is the stove set? Seems to me that info would be kind of important...
ebwarg 2 years ago 2
Medium heat. Lots of cooks say the hoter the better but thats for IHOP not your kitchen. you can control the omelette better at medium.

Well, compared to a lot of other foods, they are pretty cheap (especially when bought in bulk, like I do) and keep for a long time when refrigerated.
