@SinginBird I used the "Scare it out of them" technique. I came home with pink highlights from that spray-on stuff, (only lasted 3 days) and she was mortified. She said she'd have to get over it though, if it was real. From then on I've been dying my hair, even all of it BRIGHT blue. Of course this only worked because I had one parent who bought me the stuff, but I'd love to see you try without one.
