See, i told ya it was for 16 yr olds (and apparently 14 yr olds as well) I grew up and started playing in the 80's and it was all about the solo. Every band from that era had a kick ass guitar player-Lynch,Vai,DeMartini,Rhoads,Vandenburg,Campbell etc, and standard tuning got it done.
i happen to keep all 7 of my gtars in dropped D, nd im 14, but im alredy a grade 8 with my grade 6 in thoery. drop d sounds awesome providing you dont have to much treble in the sound, buty keep gain around 75% and crank your distortion right up nd make sure not to put to much treble in nd it soudsn great.
A good portion of that is ripped off from Bach. But it's expected...as Bach was easily one of (if not THE most) the most influencial composers of history.

I play it tuned in Eb as opposed to D. I do this a bunch to avoid constantly changing my tuning.
